Who has a jetted/jacuzzi tub in their home? Do you use it?

I have one. I have used it quite a bit. The only thing I don't like is the noise from the jets. We also have a regular in ground jacuzzi that seats probably 10 in the backyard and I have used that far less. I just dont like to be cold when I get out of the water or wait for the thing to heat up plus it is dark out there and I can't see.

I have one because I think its one of those things you have to have these days for resale. I hardly use it. I don't "sit" well, without something else to do and when I am in the tub I think about everything else I could be doing and I feel like I am wasting time.

Then put in a TV to watch while you're in the whirlpool tub! That's what we did in this house. Our first house had a large corner jacuzzi tub, never put a TV in that bathroom, but this one we did & I quite like it!

Oh, boy, most of you are singin' my song...:lmao:

I swear I bought my previous home because of the master bath jacuzzi tub. And used it every night for a month! Candles, an alcoholic drink, ;) cordless headphones...heaven! Then you get out alllllll relaxed and limp...

and somebody has to clean the tub. Unfortunately my maid is...ME.

The novelty wore off quickly.

But it's great for resale for the next unsuspecting victim...:rotfl:

DH likes them and wants one in the house we are going to build. I'm not much into them. I like a nice shower! He's a marathoner, triathlete though so I guess that makes more sense. He used the one at BCV after his 3 race weekend in January.

Now me, I want an outdoor shower when we build. I have had one here for 2 years.

I much prefer garden tubs.:cool1:
With jetted tubs, they have to be filled at least once a month, run through with some cleaner (I've used a bit of Pinesol lately, nicer smell) or they really do start to mold and mildew. I hate it when we move....and the previous owners have not known to run the tub occasionally. Fun, fun, fun when I get to clean out a couple of years of gunk.

i use ours but probably for the majority of the time not for the most common use.

i LOVE extreeeeeeemly hot baths. i put the water to the highest temp and let it fill-then when the hot water heater emptys i of course end up with nothing but cold water entering the tub. in order to get rid of hot and cold spots in the tub i turn on the jets and it mixes the water to a wonderful temp:love:

i also (gasp:scared1: ) use the jets to make wonderfully frothy bubble baths. i put in the bubble bath with the water (sans jets) then hit the jets for just a few minutes to froth the top of the tub:love:

my main use of the jets for their actual 'purpose' is when my feet are killing me. fortunatly we have a jetted tub that is long enough for me to lie in (head submerged) without my feet actualy touching the jets at the end.

we've used ours for over a year and i've had no issues with cleaning gunk or having anything unsightly come out of the jets (and it's very obvious when you are using bubble bath-if there's gunk it's going to show on those bubbles:scared: ).

We have aaaalways wanted a jacuzzi tub, so when the bathroom was remodeled we put one in. I think the jets have been used about twice, neither times by me. Since our bathroom is so small, it really makes too much noise. Not very good for relaxing. I love baths, but I like using bubbles and listening to music, so the jets are off. The jet thingies are also a pain in the butt to clean. Does anyone know if you can buy special plastic covers for them?

Personally if I had it to do all over again, I would just put in a regular tub.

I have a HUGE corner jacuzzi (fits 2 easily) that we rarely use. Like many of you said, it takes a LOT of water, and the jets are a pain to clean. The noise can be frightening too. But I still love the actual tub and it's size.
