Who got an AP rate for Christmas '05?

I was looking on mousesavers and it shows that last year in August an AP discount was released for check in's through 12-25-05. We are going this year check in Dec 23 - Jan 3rd...will I be able to use the discount ( if there is one) for the whole stay...I was under the impression you can as long as your "check-in" date is within the dates.

Also...who did actually get a rate for this time frame last year? What was it for and what kind of deal did you get?

I just started looking into this whole AP thing and trying to decide if it will work for us or not...our dates are locked in so if we couldn't really use any discounts during that time and I see that DDE you can't use on Christmas Eve or day and New Year's Eve or Day which will be 4 of our 12 days...I just don't know!

Haven't been there actually on Christmas, but as long as there is a discount code for the 23rd and availability it would be good for 10 nights of your stay (that's the max you can do with one reservation)
They were doing the best rate program last year (which I didn't like) so we made a reservation at the Swan for $139 a night (if I'm remembering the price right)
As far as the DDE card if you're going to spend more than $300 at the restaurants that are eligible, that's when you start saving money.

Thank you..what is the best rate program? I know I'm going to have some research to do with the DDE stuff but the AP seems so confusing to me...like there are just alot of in's & out's...maybe because I just started looking in to it.

Best Rate Program is no longer - it was for bookings 120 days in advance where they guaranteed the "best rate" (which was good ), but if you cancelled you lost $$$ one nights stay, even if you cancelled the next day (which most people thought was bad when booking that far ahead ) so Disney cancelled this unpopular program....

AP AKL Concierge was $418 (included tax) checking in 12/24/05 Xmas Eve last year.

Okay thanks...yes that sounds like it could be a pain for some plans. Do you remember when codes came out for December? August was it?

Still trying to decide if an AP will work for us. What does anyone think if I got the AP just for the DDE advantage? Would it be worth it...especially with 4 of our days there being "holidays"???

Yep, AP came out at end of August BUT in looking at my old ressies (I keep everything! ), I didn't book until I called on 11/4/05 and still got an AP rate so there must have been an offer still open at that time.
