Who feels like a threadkiller - Take 4!

Thanks PD. I hope we can get it fixed and on the road quickly. We have a 20 hour plus drive to make, so the sooner we can get on the road the better we will be.

Stephen, I didn't have a glass, I had a mug and it had English Breakfast tea in it:surfweb:

I am a strictly non alcohol person. Not because I disapprove of alcohol but because it all tastes really disgusting to me:confused3

Robin - I hope you get on the road soon.....be safe out there

My glass has Diet Rite soda - and I drink a ton of the stuff! I like your cocktail, tho!

I hope everyone is having a nice evening!

off to get breakfast and get the truck part and try to start this vacation again

Hopefully this time will be more successful :woohoo:

Wow Im gonna try that drink...sounds good!:thumbsup2

Robin, I hope you get everything together and can get on the road soon...pixiedust:

Today is my day off....
I think I will be going into town tho...My new glasses are irritating my nose... The cost hurt enough, to not have them comfortable is NOT acceptable. They have already adjusted them once, but it didn't help. So I am telling them if they cant make them right I want a different pair... We will see how far I get with this...:confused3:sad2:

My drink of choice is wine...as you all probably know...::yes::
Most of the time though, I drink tea, or water....I use to drink Coke like it was water, but that just packed on the pounds, so I changed to no cal. things.....
except for the wine:lovestruc..I like wine too much to give it up...
We do like to have a mixed drink or two when co. visits...That is when I think I'll try your Peppermint Patty Martini... Sounds yummy...but very fattening.:goodvibes

Well I hope you al have a great day:wizard:

Its definitely a dessert drink. Crazy thing with this one... the more you shake, the less calories... Shake enough its a push!

I LOVE a nice dry red. Something very earthy and oaky. Unfortunately we are a blue state here in MA meaning we cant ship alcohol legally. My sister in law did realize that shipping glassware is legal...

There are a few vineyards around my area (literally two) that have some fantastic reds. One has a still as well which makes a great version of Southern Comfort. It has some rich maple tones and let me tell you after a few hours of snow blowing and a glass of that is fantastic.

At any rate...

I am throwing a pot pie in the oven as we speak so its ready for when the wife gets home. It has been a rainy dreary day here and pot pie will certainly brighten our days. :beach:

We are both starting to feel the MCAS crunch :teacher: and really need some comfort food!

Stephen~ Where is Massachusetts are you? We go to Cape Cod for vacation every summer, and go to the Bershires for the day or Boston for the weekend every couple of years.

20 Min from Boston. We go to the Cape on a monthly basis, my wife's uncle owns some property there in Eastham. We got married in 2009 at a church in Wellfleet.

We like to head out to the far out Cape like P-Town, Truro which has one of the vineyards I mentioned, and Wellfleet. Where do you usually stay?

One of the wineries we went to was "Lucas Winery" Its a NY state local. It makes the BEST table red. I normally am not a red wine drinker, but this is my favorite wine!..Its called "Tugboat Red". If you ever see it, get a bottle and give it a try...I think you would like it. They also have a white, called "Butterfly"...which was quite good!::yes::

Hey Kim, :wave2:
You have got to do more then wave to us:chat: ..
With Robin not here we need something to read...
How have your days been going?...It looks like Kelly is doing quite well with her skating...Does she take lessons all summer too.?, How is your son doing with his films?...Post....POST!...LOL

I am very happy to say we bought our flight tickets for WDW this Aug.:yay:...I was starting to get worried that I wouldn't be able to get 5 seats together, but I found some on AirTran....Got a good price too, We will have to leave out of Allentown Pa....We will have to drive 2 hrs to get there, but its nonstop and only $94. per person, one way ..:thumbsup2 Better then $300.00 or more everywhere else and they all had at least one layover. Layovers are not fun with three small children.:rolleyes1

Well, Today I have to be to work at 1PM, So I have the whole morning to get some stuff done:laundy:...
Its suppose to go up into the 50s today!:cool1: Not looking real sunny out there tho...:confused3

Anyway, Have a great day my friendspixiedust:

Hey!...WE actually vacationed in Wellfeet! It was a bunch of years ago...My boys were...well....BOYs then...They are both married with many kids now...I am a grandmother of 14...soon to be 15 in Sept...So when I say a bunch...what I mean is a BUNCH of years ago...LOL
We went on a whale watch out of PTown...Had a great time...We loved the little motel we stayed at..Wish I could remember the name of it...It had a lot of tame bunnies running around the prop. I remember there was also a path on the property that took us on a long walk through a big stand of pines, that opened up on a cliff over looking the ocean..It was a beautiful view!...We will have to go back sometime...Really enjoyed that trip! I do remember a very pretty little white church there too..I think I took quite a few pictures of it!...
( I'm a photog too... I love to take lots of pictures on my travels:3dglasses)

We have always stayed in Dennis, but this year we will be in Brewster for the first time. I LOVE Wellfleet!

Good Morning!

When I was a kid we used to camp mat Maurice's right across from the drive-in. Wellfleet is fantastic.

We had some great weather the past two days. Other than the huge parking lot piles of snow, its gone. To celebrate we bought some new patio furniture from Target for like $20 a chair... I felt like I was stealing!

Last night was my wife's first go at an Irish boiled dinner. This was always my mom's special meal and it got the seal of approval from everyone. I think this means that we officially "have" St. Patrick's Day as a holiday. :confused3

Right now I am enjoying the few minutes of my morning coffee before I have to head out to my Brother in Law's house. He wants help tiling a back splash and asked me to help him out since he has never tiled. It should be an interesting experience... popcorn:: he is not exactly a natural when it comes to tools ha. Its no fault of his own, he just has never really needed to.

In other news...

As of 18 minutes ago we officially hit the double digits of our countdown! :dance3::dance3:

99 Days and the whole clan is heading down to Caribbean Beach for a nice getaway. Part of last nights dinner consisted of chocolate covered krispie treats (a 100 day tradition) and a few Old Kungaloosh drinks. My niece will be celebrating her 3rd birthday on July 4 and that is when we will be there! We are all very excited.

Anyway... Its time for us to hit the dusty road and get some work done. Happy Sunday, have a good day.

Good Morning :wave2:
All ready for work....and just stopping in to see whats what:3dglasses...
hummm...Nothin!:confused3
Where is everyone????.....Must have been a busy Monday...;)

I myself didnt do a whole lot...I had the day off, but it was all snowy and wet out...So I stayed home and cleaned...did laundry:laundy:...ya know all the exciting things...:cheer2:...LOL

Good Morning my TKer friends,
Well its Friday again, but this week I have Sat.off.:cool1:
Although Mike has to go back to work tonight at 10PM to test a program they have been building..He will have to work til 5AM.....
So I suspect he will be sleeping most of Sat. morning. I'm thinking I might do a little shopping so he can have a nice quiet house.;)

I have not been really happy with my work lately. They are starting to not treat the employees very well. Cutting hrs. for some and giving those hrs to favoreds(not me), and not giving the bonuses that were promised. We just got our "year end" this last paycheck...and some got bigger then others, which is fine except the ones who got bigger, worked there for less time then the ones who didn't :confused3. So there has been a lot of strife..

I understand that they are having a hard time keeping the business solvent, but, I really like all my coworkers and hate to see this happening (most are young and just starting out)...It makes you not want to come into work, to encounter the next thing they have/have not done for the employees. I am working there for the enjoyment of the job...and enjoyable it has not been lately...So I'm just not sure I want to do this anymore. I am just going to have to see how this all plays out...BUT if they don't start going back to the way it was when I first started, I wont stay..which is sad, as I have really enjoyed the work in the past. Unfortunately the bloom is not only off the rose, it's actually starting to dry up and die.:sad2:

Oh well, at least Ill have a free summer..if I decide to stop working.:cool2:
I have so much that needs doing at home, with my gardens and fixing all the things around the house...not to mention all the mowing we always have to find the time for...:thumbsup2...
Anyway....I am done boring you with the bumps in my life....:rolleyes1

I bet Robin is having a great time...I saw it was warm and sunny there...:woohoo: in Fla. Im not sure when she was going home.

Oh!...while I'm on the vaca subject...I am happy to say, we upgraded to the Poly for our WDW trip....With the young ones we are taking, we decided that being on the monorail was a BIG plus...so we bit the bullet, and upgraded...I am sooo excited about this as the Poly is my Favortie!:cool1:

What are you plans for the weekend..?

Have a great day TKers!:wizard:...and any lurkers:3dglasses

TTFNpaw:

Awwww, Betsy - I'm sorry to hear about your job. There is nothing more fulfilling that loving your work and when that sort of thing happens, it's twice as hard. I'm thinking of you and I hope things work out. Enjoy your day of shopping. I know Mike will appreciate the quiet house. You KNOW you can come to us any time you need to chat/vent or keep us up on the speed bumps happening....

I can't speak for Robin, but I had a GREAT time with her, Rick and their friends. We didn't do a whole lot of touring...mostly relaxing and enjoying each other's company. They were nice enough to let me cook, which I enjoyed a whole lot. Here's the list of food I made (it was a blast!)

I made lasagna, black & white Brulee. Teriyaki Pork Loin & Anniversary Crunch Salad and Bruschetta for an appetizer. The last night I made Chicken Picatta with Cesar Salad and a Sweet & Yukon Potato Hash. The 2nd & 3rd night desserts was ice-cream with a really fun, easy hot fudge sauce. I also made potato & pasta salads for the guys to take with their lunches.

I'm off to get my iPhone fixed today. I was going to meet them at Disney, but I dropped my phone and shattered the glass....today is the first day they have open appts.

Ya'll take care and I'm thinking of you....

Betsy, so sorry tht is happening at work. What a disappointment. I guess the good news is that Mike is working again, so at least the stress is not heightened by the fact that you are the only one with a job!

Ann~ I'm sure Robin was in heaven with you cooking for her!

3 weeks until our trip!:wizard: Ann ~ I woulod still like to meet for lunch some day while we're there, because I so want to meet you! Just not sure about our scheduling as we made all later dinner reservation, because my family doesn't want to have our days planned out. They want to take things as they come. Are there any days that are better for you, or any parks that you prefer?

My DH has been in Dallas for work all week. He comes home this afternoon.
Tomorrow I am taking my daughter prom dress shopping!

Hi Everyone...

Betsy, I am sorry about your job. I worked retail for a long time and that always seemed to happen. My mom always says you have to hang in there because someday you will get what you deserve.

---

It has been a crazy week. We started MCAS testing which always gets the kids very excited to come to school...

My class has really started to stress me out. Its my last classroom setting class before the University comes out to observe me to give me my masters. I am just ready to be done.

I have had appointments pretty much every night of this week and have not been home before 9 each night. Needless to say I was pretty much a zombie yesterday.

Anywho... We are at 93 days for our countdown and can not wait until we get down there. I think the first thing that I will do is head to the pool bar and get a nice tropical drink and plop my lazy patoot in a chair and DO NOTHING until the next morning.

---

My brother in law is out at a bachelor party tonight so his wife is coming over and the three of us are going out to dinner. We haven't decided on what yet and I am really pulling for Mexican. I don't know if I mentioned this but I have a slight obsession.

Tomorrow I am going to clean out my truck... It gets messy after a week of me in it. I tend to just leave everything in there. I also have some brush I need to pull to the burn pile.

Anyway, time for me to head out and search for something to snack on until dinner. I saw some Baby Swiss Cheez-its in the cabinet and they might be calling my name.

Hiya PD! I don't know how long you'll be in WDW, but my cousin & her family are coming in EXACTLY 3 weeks from today and will be there for almost a week. We may have to wait until next time. I already asked and she doesn't want to go to Disney....let me know (feel free to PM me) and let me know your days and I'll see what I can do. I'd LOVE to meet you, too.

Horizons - sounds like you're quite busy. My oldest is a teacher and there is a lot of stress - and a lot of rewards. Good luck with your masters.

Well, I got my iphone replaced. I'm glad that's over!! I'm gonna clean the house and make some meatloaf....sounds yummy today! Take care ya'll!

Hey there and howdy y'all:thumbsup2

I have returned from the beautiful sunshine state of Florida and what a wonderful time was had by all.

We enjoyed Ann and Tom's company and also little Miss Sunny. The food produced by our master chef with love was absolutely awesome. :goodvibes Never turn down a meal cooked by Ann if you are lucky enough to be offered.

The guys made your chocolate/peanut butter sauce after you left and it turned out remarkably well. ;)
