Who feels like a threadkiller - Take 4!

I purchased a dress yesterday for Alex's wedding.

It is quite simple and definitely was NOT cheap But everybody seemed to think it looked good on me.

It is something that I can wear to any other function that I might have in the future. That is assuming that I never gain another ounce because the dress fits that closely.

Oh Robin...I love it the colors are very nice and the black really brings them out!

Well I am very unhappy to say we woke up to 20+ INCHES OF SNOW...yuck!

So Id say Im home for the day...no work today anyway..which is nice, so I still get a full paycheck....

Mike has to work at home today too, because of the snow...its not too big of a deal with him as he can get the same work done here as there...

So, Ill be off and on all day today...

Perfect dress! I love it! Just right for a spring wedding and then a cruise dress - nice choice!!

I love the Mickey's too. I didn't even notice them there until Liz pointed them out.

The hidden Mickey's also make it a great "cruise" dress.

Because of the hidden mickeys....do you know how many people are going to ask you where you got that dress? They're going to be searching the stores!

Betsy - sorry about the snow. It's chilly here, too. It's only going to reach 70 after 2 weeks in the low 80's. I know.....I know.....but no one can complain about the weather like a Floridian! Glad you're still getting a full paycheck - it makes the bad weather easier to swallow. Stay safe in the snow...

Hi Betsy! We had a great time! We had dinner with a huge group of fun, disney loving people.

I'm glad you liked my pics . I don't usually take pics - I just discovered that I enjoyed it (when we were in Charleston). I definitely am not a fan of taking pics of people - just not my thing. But I love buildings & plants....and Disney has plenty. I didn't bring my camera - I used my iphone.

I think a camera is going on my list of things to get....after I replace my ipad! I can't wait for the 11th!

It's so funny that I didn't notice the Mickey's right off. I'm sure the sales ladies thought we were totally crazy when we were laughing about the Mickey's. But we thought it was funny. Takes a Disney nut, I suppose to appreciate such a wonderful thing

SO sorry about the snow Betsy. This has been a very long and snowy winter. I for one will be very glad to see the end of it.

Ann, you can complain about the chilly (by your standards anyway) weather just as long as you get the temps back up there by the end of next week.

Great pictures of the wine tour and the snow! we just got rain and lots of wind. We had a dusting of snow this morning after all the rain ended. Today was actually a beautiful day here, but there is lots of flooding. The kids had a 2 hour delay this morning, some districts around here were closed.

I really don't have many good friends that live close....either.
I have known Joan(the Birthday girl) for years, and her and her husband(Bill), and son(Colin) actually went to WDW with us last year, when we took David. but I didn't know her friends.

I posted this on the DWDQs thread, and I realized I didnt say who was who and how I knew them.....on this thread.

It was Joan's Birthday, She is the sec. from the left with the brown sweater...
It was funny, as we all knew Joan, but didn't know each other...
The girl on the far right(Terri), Joan works with at an architectural co.
The girl on the far left(Colleen), works for a printing co. that Joan does business with thru her work, and I know Joan because her husband use to work with mike(for about 30 years, before they both got laid off. Bill was laid off the year before Mike.)and are our good friends. So no one felt like the odd man out...We all had a great time!

I use to hang with a couple of friends almost every day, but we have all drifted away, when one got married and a new job, and the other got involved with her kids and school activities, and then there was my Mom and later my job....life just gets in the way and we don't keep in touch much anymore...

Oh you are absolutely right about that.

Life does get in the way.

I think the one I spend my most time with is my mother, which is okay but not quite the same as a "girlfriend"

Lots of time I find myself wishing I had had a sister but then again a lot of sisters don't get along all that well, so maybe my mom just saved me a bunch of grief that way

You girls here are the ones that I talk to the most. And I always try to get together with any of you if I am passing through your parts of the world.

Actually it is amazing how often that does happen.

I am excited to see Ann again next week. Really excited that everyone is going to be together on the cruise ship again. That was my favourite cruise ....... out of 19 cruises..... I guess that tells you something

Robin - we're happy to hang around with you anytime! Tom and I were just talking about how excited we are to be seeing you & Rick so soon!

I've been blessed with sisters and a couple of really great girlfriends. Robin - you met Charlene. She likes to cook and we see each other about 3-5 days a week for a soda and chat time. I'm also blessed to have the threadkillers as such good friends, too!

Robin - I spoke to Charlene and told her about your sweet post. She said hello and she remembers you and enjoys you also on facebook. Tom and I may have to arrive for our visit on the 19th and leave the 21st. I need to double check, but Sunny's final class is the 18th. I'll know for sure later - her class is tonight. She also is getting spayed on the 22nd. We can't change that - they don't do too many of them during the month and if she gets much older, she'll go in season....which opens up all kinds of cost!

As soon as I know anything I'll let you know!

We got it arranged! Sunny's last class was moved from the 18th - so we'll leave then! I'm not sure if we're staying til the 20th or 21st - a lot depends on how she's behaving (hopefully she's a good girl). Then she has her surgery on the 22nd!

Yippeee! I'm SO glad we were able to move her class!

That is great. Come and stay as long as you like.

We are now considering leaving home on Tuesday after work and giving ourselves a little extra time to drive down. That way we can stop for leisurely meals and not drive such long days. That will be good especially since we are towing a trailer with the airplanes in it and that gets tiring for the driver.

Robin - you leaving early means your vacation starts that much earlier! I know I'm excited!

I have a full day today. I'm making a ton of stock and will use some for dinner tomorrow. I'm making bruschetta for an appetizer, french onion soup (homemade croutons, gruyere, fresh mozzarella and parmesan cheeses) and little strawberry tarts.

I've never made the tarts - it'll have a short bread crust and a cream cheese filling flavored with orange zest. The top will have strawberries with strawberries and a homemade "sauce". I can't remember the word that is the thick filling the strawberries go in.... anyway, it sounded good to me!

I'm off to get my hair done while Tom keeps an eye on the stock!
