Happy Thanksgiving Threadkillers!
All of you are on my list of many things to be thankful for

DU - congrats on Elvis. I bet your stuffing is amazing. Do you do regular stuffing or cornbread? There is a TON of cornbread stuffing in the south, but I prefer the regular stuff. Can you share what you put in it?

Robin - you DID call it! You have such an amazing memory for details. I hope you're having a great day and it's not to quiet around the boards! I'll do my darndest to take a pic for you!

Kim - it's nice to hear from you again! I hope your Thanksgiving is nice and not too cold in the windy city!

I've got the two turkeys in the roasters, stuffed. I also made dressing (because some prefer dressing to stuffing) and I'm making some stock out of the giblets. Those 4 quarts of chicken stock I made for today?...it's GONE already!

Ya'll take care and see you 'round the boards!

Gobble Gobble!

 :rotfl:

That's great DU.

:rotfl2:

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 Yes you did!:lmao:

Gobble, Gobble!!!

Time to eat soon!!! :thumbsup2

Love ELVIS!!! Watch out for the Bichon part tho, DU. My parents had a bichon frise (sp?) and that dog peed EVERYWHERE!!! :rolleyes1 It led to her eventual demise, actually. :sad1:

:grouphug:

So far this one is a Pisser too! She told me he was paper trained & Crate trained....:sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

my stuffing is finished & cooling....the bird goes in at 10 for dinner at 4...so almost done - well i do have to put the other leaf in, but need DH to help me that...it's much too large & heavy for 1 person....

DU - LOVE the name for the puppy....if he is (or isn't paper trained)...block him up some how near the door that you want him trained to go out....covering the entire area that he's in with papers...and day by day remove a piece of paper working towards the door till there's 1/2 pc in & 1/2pc out....he'll continue to go on the paper, & will understand the paper is outside.....

hope you are all having a great day...our sun is starting to shine (after 3 days of rain)...so by 4 pm should be a beautiful day here!!!

Happy Turkey Day my Threadkillers!

John and his mom have the kitchen so I'm back out here online...

What is the difference between stuffing or dresssing???

Actually this is the first time that I've gotten near the computer today, so I'm not sure if it's been really quiet or not around here.

Waiting for those picturespopcorn::

Trying to figure out what that is in your signature :confused3

Looks like one of those puppy trainer pads that I see in the cute little online puppies that are actually really not so sweet when they are ripping those lovely little pads to tiny pieces:rotfl2:

hi Colleen!!!! other than some "makeup' on my face...i'm ready for everyone but no one is here yet (nor are they expected for at least another hour)....i think stuffing is the stuffing in the bird where as 'dressing' is the left over that didn't fit in the bird - that's done in a casserole dish in the oven...???

Do you have all of your family & John's too?

Thank You Robin...it actually was very nice yesterday so i had the back door open (which must have been too chilly for the nieces), they were sitting right there in front of it....

Happy belated Thanksgiving!
I have been unbelieveably busy!...
Ann,
The party potatoes, were a hit!...and we all ate way to much...
after everyone went home...I collapsed on the couch and vegged...

DU,
CUTE pooch....and the name is perfect!:thumbsup2 ..
Great call Robin!;) ....I figured Joker,...but Elvis, is much better..:teeth:

I know all about puppy pee ...yesterday...My sister came for TG dinner and brought BOTH of her dogs:confused3 ...who proceeded, to go and pee on the corner of my beadspread, in my guest room..Grrrrrr!.
I LOVE my sis, but if I knew there was going to be 21 people (mostly kids), at someones house I was invited to for dinner, I WOULDNT bring my dog.Unless it was so well trained, it sat at my feet the whole time...and even then Id probably leave him home ...FOR HIM.

Well in spite of dogs, we all had a GREAT time..after dinner we all got together and sang Christmas songs, with my DH, and DS( the DGGs dad)leading us on the guitars..Even Julia's boyfriend sang and played alittle guitar..Very fun..

We are right now making turkey soup, and are going to take it over to DSs and DDILs(DGSs parents) house to sing more carols, with them and DDILs parents..
So my turkey is doing double duty..along with all the other left overs:goodvibes

I am NOT going to get on the scale for the next few days...:scared1: :faint:
Well I better get to work on that soup....:teleport:

I have pictures, Ill try to get to them soon!:3dglasses

TTFNpaw:, everyone:wave2:

popcorn:: waiting for those pictures Betsy.

Enjoy your soup.

The only leftovers I used today was a small hamburger from the other night that I chopped up and put on a homemade pizza for lunch:thumbsup2

Hiya Threadkillers!

I didn't take any pics, but my sister took a couple. They were small and blurry, but I'll try to post them later.

Betsy - sounds like you had a good time yesterday. I'm glad the potatoes worked out well. Sorry about the doggie pee.

CADZ - Congratulations on your anniversary! How many years? Your table and house are beautiful! Everything looked just perfect.

Robin - I like how you use your leftovers! I'm glad you were busy yesterday....

I hope everyone had a great thanksgiving yesrterday. We had a great time and a TON of food! My nephew proposed and his girl said yes. It was such a lovely moment! They were positively glowing!

Today I'm setting up all the Christmas decorations for the Christmas party on Tuesday....need to get that done so I can re-clean and make more food! I did get ALL the dishes done yesterday. 3 Dishwasher loads and a 6' table full (on towels) that I dried late last night....it was a LATE night for me. The good news is when I woke up this morning, you'd never know we had 19 people over!

Gotta run....lights are half done!

Hey all! I've been reading and reading and I'm finally caught up! Whew! SOunds like everyone had a nice holiday. We did as well. Ann the sweet potato casserole was so good. I got lots of compliments. Very tasty, so thank you very much!

We were at my sisters for dinner. My MIL came with us so that made the family shiffling easier!:goodvibes I have 4 sisters and 2 brothers. All the sisters were there, but the brothers were both with their in-laws this year. Mom was with us too. There were 21 for dinner for us too, which meant a few tables, but it all worked out fine. Soooo much food and dessert. My BIL is a fantastic and very inventive cook ( The male versionj of Anne). Cooking is absolutely his thing so the food was just wonderful. We're all upstate NYers, except for him. He grew up in New Orleans, so it is so cool to get his take on recipes. He made Cornbread stuffing with Andouille (sp?) sausage. OMG ...to die for, I've never had anything like that before. He made 2 kinds of gravy. etc., etc., etc!

We also go formal for Thanksgiving dinner. I'm the one with lots of dishes here. Don't know why, but I just love dishes!:confused3 I had to bring some extra plates over to my sister's home for Thanksgiving dinner. I have a set of CHrismas dishes that I will get out this weekend, and we will use those through New Years. Like Anne we are formal about the table settings, but otherwise very informal. I think everyone wore jeans.

Eek about bringing dogs to a large gathering of people. When we have a lot of people at our own house I bring Buddy to the Kennel! It is just too much for him to have all those people in the house. For example I'm having everyone in my family here for New Year's Eve. THe dog will be at the kennel. Luckily we have found a great kennel and Buddy loves it there and they love him!:thumbsup2

....and speaking of Dog's...congrats on Elvis!!!! Now don;t let James know this....but when we got Buddy he was about 8 weeks old and had already been named Elvis :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: Now I am not a fan of Elvis Presley so we renamed him Buddy:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Brenda, love your pictures. I agree that your house is just beautiful. What a lovely family!:)

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: for snow in Michigan! So glasd your wish came true! Snow is beautiful, I hope you get to enjoy it before you go back home!:goodvibes

We went and cut down our Christmas tree today. It was a beautiful day, about 4 degrees so a little nip but not freezing cold. We found a beautiful tree fairly quickly, went to the barn a bought a wreath and some hot cider and came home. Our outside decorations are up. We have lighted deer in the front yard, a buck, a doe and three fawns. A nice representation of our family. I'll try to get a picture to share.

Making turkey soup now and it's boiling, so I have to go add some ingrediants. Later gators!

That is so great. I'm sure I would have been crying! I'm such a sap!

OK now that the American Thanksgiving has ended we can all celebrate Christmas and New Yers together! I'll even try to celebrate Boxing Day with the Canadian and British TKers!;)
