Hey all! I've been reading and reading and I'm finally caught up! Whew! SOunds like everyone had a nice holiday. We did as well. Ann the sweet potato casserole was so good. I got lots of compliments. Very tasty, so thank you very much!
We were at my sisters for dinner. My MIL came with us so that made the family shiffling easier!

I have 4 sisters and 2 brothers. All the sisters were there, but the brothers were both with their in-laws this year. Mom was with us too. There were 21 for dinner for us too, which meant a few tables, but it all worked out fine. Soooo much food and dessert. My BIL is a fantastic and very inventive cook ( The male versionj of Anne). Cooking is absolutely his thing so the food was just wonderful. We're all upstate NYers, except for him. He grew up in New Orleans, so it is so cool to get his take on recipes. He made Cornbread stuffing with Andouille (sp?) sausage. OMG ...to die for, I've never had anything like that before. He made 2 kinds of gravy. etc., etc., etc!
We also go formal for Thanksgiving dinner. I'm the one with lots of dishes here. Don't know why, but I just love dishes!

I had to bring some extra plates over to my sister's home for Thanksgiving dinner. I have a set of CHrismas dishes that I will get out this weekend, and we will use those through New Years. Like Anne we are formal about the table settings, but otherwise very informal. I think everyone wore jeans.
Eek about bringing dogs to a large gathering of people. When we have a lot of people at our own house I bring Buddy to the Kennel! It is just too much for him to have all those people in the house. For example I'm having everyone in my family here for New Year's Eve. THe dog will be at the kennel. Luckily we have found a great kennel and Buddy loves it there and they love him!
....and speaking of Dog's...congrats on Elvis!!!! Now don;t let James know this....but when we got Buddy he was about 8 weeks old and had already been named Elvis

Now I am not a fan of Elvis Presley so we renamed him Buddy
Brenda, love your pictures. I agree that your house is just beautiful. What a lovely family!

for snow in Michigan! So glasd your wish came true! Snow is beautiful, I hope you get to enjoy it before you go back home!
We went and cut down our Christmas tree today. It was a beautiful day, about 4 degrees so a little nip but not freezing cold. We found a beautiful tree fairly quickly, went to the barn a bought a wreath and some hot cider and came home. Our outside decorations are up. We have lighted deer in the front yard, a buck, a doe and three fawns. A nice representation of our family. I'll try to get a picture to share.
Making turkey soup now and it's boiling, so I have to go add some ingrediants. Later gators!
