thanks!!! he can clean up nicely....

he has always just thought he'd go to Cal Poly in SLO - he wants to go into engineering - and that IS THE school for Eng. But it is SOOOOO heavily impacted & he doesn't have a 4.5 GPA so we started looking at other schools too - San Diego would be an awesome place (just to live & for Mom & Dad to visit); but it too is heavily impacted....soooo that's why we're going to check out all the others - they all have a good eng programs....and some good science pgms too....something in science - chemistry would be a good choice for him too...

Happy Sunday TKer's!!!

Helllllllllo TK'ers!

Left work around 8am, drove home & slept about 2 hours. We celebrated Mothers day here today. Had about 15 people over. Some I knew...some I didnt ( )!

Anyhoooooooooooooooo I am now completely exxxxxxxxxxxhausted! catch ya all tommorrow.

DU, What time is your ressie for R&C?
The last one possible 7:55 pm. Illuminations is at 9 that night! If we get a outside seat then great...if not...then not. I'd figure I'd give it a shot. I always wanted to eat there.

I've been reading reviews of the Rest @ Saratoga Springs!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 WOW many different reviews say its one of WDW BEST!!!!:woohoo:

James WONT do Character meals!!!!! :sad2:

The Turf Club really is that impressive. Trust me, you'll love it!

I only made the ressie there to meet up with a DISer coming in from England. She was staying at SSR so it would've been easy for them to get to us. Turned out their flight was way late but Adrian and I ate there anyway. It was drool in your mouth, perfectly prepared, not very often have I had better, Good Food!

as far as R&C is concerned. Ask. They'll "try."

but!

The waitstaff will take you out to their private viewing area if you are not able to physically sit outside. They'll save your seat, walk you out, have your coffee and dessert after the show, back at your table, if you hadn't gotten to it by then. It worked out for us. They take you to a roped off area to the left, lakeside.

James is too grown up for his own good sometimes ;)

Hiya:wave:
I hope ya all had a good weekend!pixiedust:

Brenda,
Hansome young man you got there:3dglasses :thumbsup2

DU,
I try for an outside seat everytime I go to R&C(this will actually be the first time I havent made an ADR here)I have been successful about 70% of the time...ALWAYS tell them you are willing to wait...and as Colleen said they take you outside for a great viewing spot if you dont get the outside seat...This year we are just gonna wing it, for illuminations and see what happens...Thouhgt maybe Id try to get a seat at the mexican place, with some natchos or something..and then just hang...hey a couple of margeritas, and I wont care...LOL

I have been so busy this weekend.....
The movie I went to see on Friday, with my DS, and his boys, was awsome...I really enjoyed it.....(Narina, prince Caspian popcorn:: :thumbsup2 )

Then we spent Sat. enjoying the unexpected sun....
and Sunday of course the girls are here.....

We had lunch and then went into town to check out a big sale at Fashion Bug.....

Well Fashionbug was a BUST!...
The prices were soo high it didnt ,matter that I would get 40% off....(shorts for $20-$25 each)
So we went over to TJMaxx next door...
and bought 7 pairs of shorts (assort. sizes) for about $6-$10 each...THATS more like what I was expecting to pay...

Now all the girls need are little things like sunglasses, socks..etc.
We are going to ship 2 boxes of stuff to the world ...so we have as much room as possible in the van...;)

I have my post-op appt. today...
and if all goes as expected I will be done with docs. and hosps. for quite awhile....Im NOT a fan of this stuff...:sad2:

My bluebirds are now gone...BUT I got some awsome pictures of the mama, befor they left residence..Ill try to post them soon....

Well Im off to shower, and get ready to go....

Have a great day TKers pixiedust:

Hi Threadkillers!

CA & PD - Nice prom pictures. *sigh* it's amazing how fast they grow up. I remember our son's prom 20 years ago (OMG! I'm O.L.D!)

I'm cleaning the house for our weekend guests. SWHNN is hosting a HUGE family party at her local community center (burgers, dogs, wings & beer). Our DD & her family is arriving Friday.

I'm making about 300 cookies (a bunch of family favorites) and an awesome baked bean dish for the party. Picking up a ton of sodas tomorrow for the weekend (believe it or not Pepsi is on sale for $1.99 a 12 pack tomorrow - too good a deal to pass up).

We're going to have a family soft-ball game, karaoke, badmitten and I bought a 20' slip-n-slide & water guns for everyone to use. I expect to be there until Saturday morning.

It's Tinknutts last day here before she heads to the Pacific Northwest for the summer. She's down south right now getting some work on the motor home...so the sister's are going to party this weekend!

Ya'll take care - I gotta mop!

Sounds like some FUN times ahead for you this coming wkend! i'm off to Iowa Friday night to see my 3 sisters & my Mom....(oh yeah - also going to a HS reunion/alumni dinner-dance~will be a short trip though; flying out midnite Friday & leaving there Tues a.m. at 4am to get back to San Francisco by 11 - at work by 1pm - too busy to take the day off:scared1:

CADZ - Have fun in Iowa. I never wanted to go to a HS Reunion (don't ask why...I really don't have a reason). The only folks I wanted to get/keep in touch with was my twin (which I do) and the girl I sat with in my home room....of all the places to run into her - I ran into her in a laundry mat in Italy 17 years after graduation....hadn't seen her since graduation day! It turns out that her DH and my DH worked together in Italy. Then when DH and I retired back to Florida, they own a house down the street from us! So - I'm good....no dieting for the reunion!

AMich - Good luck with finishing your course and I'm glad TW has company.

TW - those are some vibrant tatoos. I always say I want one, but I'm SO chicken! I really like the colors (or colours for Robin). Brittany gets prettier every time I see her!

I have to tell ya'll - I made a delicious dinner tonight. Pork chops with a pocket of proscuitto, sage, apricot & garlic butter. They were sauteed it in olive oil with sage leaves on each side.

They were served on a bed of cubed potatoes that were roasted with pancetta, garlic & olive oil. The chops were VERY tender and moist - mine usually resemble shoe leather - and SO tasty!

DH was crazy about it. It was from Jamie Oliver's "Italy" cookbook. Of all the cookbooks I have, this is the one that captures the essence of Italy (at least in my opinon - after 3 years there).

Anyway, it's a definite keeper and I'll be making it again soon!

ETA: Oiy! Spell check

Evening All.

I have returned:thumbsup2

Did anybody miss me:rotfl:

Robin - I hope Alex is okay. That can be scary!

I've been absent for the last day or so - my parents went to the doctor and are facing some challenges. They found out (yesterday) that my father's recovery from the 4 fractures on his pelvis is going to be 4-6 MONTHS (they were hoping for 8-12 weeks) and my step-mother fractured the kneecap of the knee she just had replaced on 1/30/08! OIY!

Anyway, I'll be on and off for a while trying to make sure they are taken care of. They can do the easy stuff, but when it comes to changing the bed, mopping the floors, grocery shopping, bathrooms & any cooking that isn't out of a can, they need help. SO....I'll be taking care of 2 households for a while (I think it would be easier if they would just move in my house for a couple months).

It looks like they're going to cancel their summer in Michigan AND yesterday was their anniversary. They were very sad yesterday. I visited them twice and the 2nd time I put Hollydog in her "Underdog" costume for them - which made them giggle...they LOVE that dog!

Alex had another attack while we were away for the weekend.

They are wondering if he is having gall bladder problems or an ulcer, maybe.

Ann, so sorry to hear about your parents and all of their troubles.

I hope there will be better days ahead.

Don't wear yourself out taking care of everybody.

Hey Ya'll!

I posted my VERY FIRST thread....but I need opinions if you have this....here or on the community board!

Glad to hear that your final travel papers have arrived.:woohoo:

 Who names a kid after a prophalactic (i dont think i can spell the "generic name")?

I wonder how he got that name

I thought it was an unusual name too. I've certainly never heard anyone called that before.

...but none the less they are a couple of handsome young men!!!:cool1:

Absolutley yes, they are:cool2:

I liked the side facing one the best. It is kind of different.

You have a very beautiful daughter.

It's Tinknutts last day here before she heads to the Pacific Northwest for the summer. She's down south right now getting some work on the motor home...so the sister's are going to party this weekend!

I know that Susan is gone already but tell her that I wish her well next time that you talk with her.

I think about the "sisters" often.
