Is this a retry to see the show from the writer's strike?

Sounds like a great weekend to me~

Mine will be spent doing homework and housework and yardwork :(

No. My oldest daughter and I actually saw WIcked for her 15th birthday. We still have to reschedule her 16th birthday, stagehands strike play. WE didn't want to do it in winter, because tickets are not refundable and I was afraid of a snowstorm. This Spring we've had something going on every weekend, it seems. We will wait til school gets out and go to a play over the summer.

This trip is with our middle school band. A bus trip and Families are invited to go on the trip. We always get there a few hours before the play so we can do a little bit of NYC stuff. We usually walk around and do some shopping. This year we'll have to take cabs because of my daughter's knee and the big brace she is wearing.

We've done the bus thing a couple times, ours has always been in the winter tho...even with the brace I know you'll have a good time~

I'm going back up for a sleepover this month. Hubby is going camping with the guys and Mika so I told Aisling I'm gonna take her up on the invite and go see her over that weekend with Penny :)

WDW here I come!!! Woo hoo! I thought it would never get here. My sister said the girls were so wound up she hestitated sending them to school today. I hope everyone has a great week I'll be thinking of you guys. :goodvibes

Hi Threadkillers!

Robin - your poor dance teacher. It is such a sad time for her - I hope the studio is up and running soon!

DU - The locust comment was hilarious! I hope you like the chicken & spinach bake. The cake was good - not great. It wasn't a super sweet cake...I like that kind - DH doesn't. He really liked it. I thought it was a touch dry. That's the downside of scratch cakes - box cakes are SO moist.

TW - I don't have any big plans either. DH is going to the range on Saturday. I might try to catch up with my housework.

PD - It sounds like you have an awesome weekend planned. SWHNN and her daughter saw Wicked with they came to Tampa (the Broadway cast, I'm told, but I wouldn't know if it actually was!) and they loved it. Is your daughter that just had surgery going?

Aunt Michelle - enjoy WDW! I'm hoping to hop down there for a day or two next month - it's gonna be a busy month after this weekend, so no luck in May.

Hi DalPal! I hope you're having a good day today!

Lastnight, I decided that I wanted to go out for dinner. We just went to a local (favorite) greasy spoon and I had an awesome club sandwich. So...no BBQ chicken today - I left it in the freezer and we're gonna have the fried rice tonight. Well, I've gotta scoot! Ya'll take care and have a GREAT day!

 Ditto that! Have a Great Time Michelle!!!!

I was sucking up some sun and my friend who does lawns showed up to do ours~I've been doing his Band's photos for years and am trading another photo session for some yard work. They just signed on a girl singer and need new promos with her in them.

Of course I had to come inside and close the windows - it's beautiful outside!

We're going to see Wicked on Broadway on Sunday. We will of course stop by World of Disney!:thumbsup2 That's exciting!:goodvibes
ahhhh...i SURE did love that show! Our seats were 3rd row from the stage....awesome!
ah yes - the leg brace...i went to the Mall of America with mine...i got a wheelchair for the day!!!:woohoo:

Hi CADZ! I am SO not the picture person - I don't take them and when I DO take them, I don't do anything with them! A school trip to Italy sounds awesome! Where are you going? I lived in Sicily - on the Eastern side (in Catania) for 3 years.... had a BLAST there...

oh i really enjoy my album scrapbooks & really loving the new digital versions too....i'll be making 2 when we return from this trip - one for the school to keep & one for us....
We start in Rome, then on to Assisi (this is a St. Francis high school) - so we MUST go to the St Francis Basilica in Assisi...but i LOVE it there...it is SOOO spirtual & peaceful....then we head north to the Tuscany region ...Siena, then Florence with a day trip to Pisa and then over to Venice to finish off the trip. We are there for 10 days. Would love to get to the Amalfi Coast & Sicily sometime too - may have to take a 3rd trip....just to experience those two areas....

Sounds like you're going to have an awesome time! DH and I like Assisi best. We took 3 trips there and stayed in this little convent right outside of the walled city. We tried to stay appx 10 days at a time - but the 3rd trip was only 4 days.

Believe it or not - DH and I never went to Florence. For the most part, we tried to stay off the beaten path....

Ya'll are doing and seeing a LOT on your trip - I envy you!

:scared1:

yes it should be...the group of kids & the adults going are really great people. i don't foresee any problems at all (other than exchange rate...:scared1: )
but it will still be a memorable trip....last year when DH & I went, we did all these same places except Pisa & Venice - went south instead to Pompeii...

I like box cakes because they are so much moister than cakes made from scratch....with the exception of my favorite from scratch cake....Chocolate mayonnaise cake:love: !

This is a field trip for the injured daughter so she is definitely going. Thank goodness for Yellow Cabs! I would have cancelled but we have four nonrefundable tickets at $100.00 each!:scared1: That's actually a bargain for this play especially as it includes our transportation.

Brenda,

Any room is your suitcase for me? I should be allowed to go on this trip...I kid you not, my maiden name is Priest! My mom went to catholic school and my dad used to joke that most of her friends from school became nuns (many of them did) but she was the first graduate of the school (all girls) to become a Priest!:rotfl:

G'day everyone.

Sounds like lots of very nice things being planned for the threadkillers:thumbsup2

Have a great trip AuntMichelle.

:woohoo:

OMG...yes you should be going with us!!! Thanks to an Uncle of one of the other mom's in the class - that works at the Vatican. we're getting a 'private' audience with Pope Benedict...which is pretty cool...i would have LOVED to meet Pope John Paul II...but either is a memorable life event!

PD, that's funny! :lmao:

Brenda, That's amazing!!!

I expect stories and photos from everyone, this year more than most I will be traveling THROUGH all of you!!!

When's your sister's trip this year Ann?

Robin, you doin any WDW before or after your upcoming cruises?

Robin, you doin any WDW before or after your upcoming cruises?

Actually we are just working on figuring that out.

We will be going down the night before the cruise but our flight doesn't get in until 8:15pm, so no time for anything then.

Has anybody stayed near the airport:confused3

Just wondering where we should spend the night. We usually go to the Comfort Inn Lake Buena Vista but why drive all the way over there and turn around and go back again in the morning.

On the Thursday that the ship gets back in we are planning on going to MNSSHP.

I booked our flights last night and we are heading home at 9:30ish pm on the Friday night.

That leaves us most of the day on Friday to do something with.

Thinking about staying at the POP Century maybe:confused3

We would rent a car to get back to Orlando from the ship and then go to the airport and hop on Magical Express to get to the POP Century.

A question for anybody who might know:

Will the POP Century hold your luggage all day for you, so that you can go to the parks on that final day, before you need to get to the airport??
