What's patriotic about buying a foreign car?



Congrats!!! I owned a Hyundai once.

My previous car was a Santa Fe...BEST CAR I EVER OWNED! And Guranteed for 100,000 miles or 10 years!....But my dealership extends the powertrain for the LIFE of the car.

Thanks. Sadly ...The foreign cars Toyota, Hyundai are built in the USA...GM, Ford are not!

I expect stories and photos from everyone, this year more than most I will be traveling THROUGH all of you!!!

I only have 1.5 days of the NYC trip left to finish (& i already have 38 completed pages) - once it's done....i'll send you the link (since it's all digital) you can view the whole thing online...

I'll be doing our Italy trip digital as well (since i have to do one for me AND the school)...i can do ours....save it all - change the pages a little to be less personal & poof - done with the schools - just that fast!!!!

DU....okay how'd you get in trouble with the Pope?????? btw - i'm feeling really good - but still on the 'disabled list' - no lifting - no training walks - not for 3 more weeks...so about May 23rd or so & i have a 12 miler on june 7th ....but i'm sure i'll do fine....

Ann - i think mtg the Pope will be an amazing opportunity - there are only 37 of us going on this trip - so everyone should be able to have a one on one hand introduction....something we will all remember forever...

here is a loooooooooooong story.

Years ago my Mothers mother had given all 3 of her kids 18k gold Blessed virgin Medals. They were really beautiful, she had them all engraved & dated.
(she must have won the Jackpot in Bingo )

My Mom always wore it until her Mom passed away and then she gave it to me to wear. And I always did.

A few years ago my coworker, whose wife sang in a choir in NJ, were chosen to sing at the Popes Easter Sunday Mass in Rome.
So my co worker asked me If I want to give him anything to bring with him to get blessed.

I gave him the Medal. And indeed he had the Pope bless it. When he brought it back I put it back around my neck....and 'plop' it immeadiately fell. I tried it agian...and aagain it fell off. I brought the clasp to a Jewler and he found nutin wrong with it. Eventually I bought another pricey chain (no clasp) and had the medal put on.

I swear I had it on for like a hour and the chain broke!!!!!!!!

Soooooooooooo I will hold it now for James. I am afraid to wear it!

Seems like my friend Bob & his wife...again backed out of going to WDW with us!!!!

My godson, their son, just got into the Electrians Union in NYC and cant take vaction until the fall. So Bob & his wife were just going to take their Granddaughter.

Anyhoooooooooooo My godson wife wants her & my godson to be with there DD when she goes to WDW (I cant blame her)...sooooooooooooooooo It's back to just Me & james again.

Which is fine by me. I am glad that I didnt wait this time for them to all make up there minds, like back in December and everything got discompobulated and we didnt go.

OMG....well i'm glad you didn't lose it & have it set aside for James....i can't wait to hear about when he gets it - puts it on & wears it with NOOOOOO problems!!!

I completed my NYC trip pages today!!!! they are uploading to Costco now & i'll pick them up tomorrow. 45 pages for a 4.5 day trip to the Big Apple! And i can't wait to go back!!!! two more years for sure if not before!!! Also thinking about going for Thanksgiving in 5 years. My friend Chel will turn 50 on TG Day & DH & I will celebrate 25 yrs of marriage so thinking it would be a great trip for the 4 of us! DH probably not into the 'city' but i think i can convince him.....

I went to see my dad at the nursing home today.

That man tires me right out everytime I go there.

He never sits down, ever.

We walked for 2 hours straight

I am grateful that he can still walk because a lot of Alzheimers patients lose that ability but sometimes I wish we could sit still for longer than 2 minutes at a time.

ahhh DU...your life changes on a daily basis depending on what the parents need (or do)....so at least you have interesting days.....good & bad...mine are pretty much the same day after day...

We don't tend to plan vacations that far in advance either.

It's great though if you can do that sort of thing.

Most of ours are decided within a few months of the travel dates.

I do not envy you your life DU.

Although with 4 aging parents to deal with from the ages of 72 to turning 80 this year, I think the next 10 years are going to be very eventful around here
