On a sad note...I am going to school today while John takes Mika to a cancer specialist in Philly. She has lymphatic cancer. I know this type of cancer is a really really bad one.

I'm so sorry, cancer is such a despicable insiduous thing, I really feel for you and Mika.

I have a pair of Eastern Bluebirds nesting in my birdhouse( I thought it was just ornimental )...

LOL you'll know you're in trouble when penguins start sheltering underneath it.

I'm going green, too! I've been trying to buy Organic food, meet & produce. I've been using cloth shopping bags for years and am slowly switching my cleaning products over. My only snag is trying to find a balance between Organic foods and a decent grocery bill.

I'm right there with you, although I must admit I like to eat organic fruit and veges because they taste fresher (probably because they're in season). Organic meat is so expensive! I use reusable cloth shopping bags too. I really like that my workplace has switched the bins to a recycling system and changed to eco-friendly cleaning solutions. Our workplace has an informal environment network; our latest project with the help of our eco-friendly IT team about to go into action is to get stickers on all the computer screens reminding people to switch them off at the end of each day. Step by step progress!

My 40 years has taught me that life can be wonderful and painful on any given day. I've got a strong soul and can handle pretty much anything...except crying. I hate to cry..

MIL has been told it is time for her to leave. Dad is ready to come home and said he'd go to a motel if she is still there. My mom has offered to take MIL in if she doesn't find a place in time..

Itspossible we can be related!

On a good note, John went back to work today. He's gotten so much better in the last week or so. On the pain scale he's finally down to a 4 - in english that means he is uncomfortable but not hurting.

I'm going green, too! I've been trying to buy Organic food, meet & produce. I've been using cloth shopping bags for years and am slowly switching my cleaning products over. Our trash folks have made recycling so easy that we pretty much recycle everything.

My only snag is trying to find a balance between Organic foods and a decent grocery bill. Tom is also eating more vegetarian - about 3-4 days per week....he's getting used to it. I just opened a jar of vegan mayo - not bad...

Are Drakes cakes, Mr. Clean products, and WalMart Plastic bags...GREEN??

I recycle plastic!

Actually I started a Recycle program at one of my jobs years ago. This is a long story sooooo I will try to make it fast.

I worked in IT and I was a production Control manager...every night boxes of paper were getting thrown out. SOOOOOOOOO I found a Recycling co in New Jersey that came every other day and took dumpsters full of paper to recycle and sent my co a check every month....All Good...RIGHT?

I put a software sytem in place and made a 'paperless" office.....so NO MORE paper being used to be recycled. The Recycle co didnt like this, so they decided to now CHARGE my company (major fortune 50) for not having paper to Recycle. My Co REFUSED to pay!

So guess who got the harrassing phone calls from "the boys"! Yup you got that right. One day while in my office, someone got threw 7 Points of Security...and got into my office...looking for me!

Needless to say my company wound up not only paying the recyclers for NOT recycling.....BUT MY SECURITY getting to & from the office, and a whole bunch of other stuff.

So my point is.....the recycling biz is very much not on the up & up...

I have to go to town today...So Im on the run

I didnt even think of it being April fools yesterday, til the afternoon...BUT Mother nature, had a laugh on us for April fools....Yesterday...It was 66 degrees, and we had sun on and off(it was wonderful), but this morning I woke up to snow! ...Its just a dusting, and Im sure it will be gone by this afternoon, BUT ????.... ...Oh well...Such is life...

I got a call from the Adult living home we looked at last weekend, yesterday...
They will have a opening as soon as this weekend ...
I am glad to hear it, but I wasnt prepaired for it this soon....Im starting to feel really quilty...I know its something that has to be done, as I have been doing it for over 10 years in my house and almost 20 years all together....Its starting to take a toll on me, (and Mike too)...BUT I feel like Im letting her down....She seems OK with it, but Im not sure she really know what it all means..

The place is really nice and I can come and go as I please...Even take her out for a day ...or more...The have a bluegrass band that comes and plays for them...Its all very homey...Only 60 beds, and she would have a roommate...I just hope Im doing the right thing...

Well I better go get ready for my appts.....

Betsy do not feel guilty about this.

I know it is really hard because I've been there and done that not even a year ago.

Well except for the part that I was taking care of him myself in my own home.

You might just find that she will be much happier there.

She will be among people of her own age.

There will be activities to keep her involved in life much more than you are able to do. Especially since you have your own life to be living.

This way you can go and visit her as often as you like and you will be much more relaxed and refreshed and able to enjoy her more.

You are right, for everyone's safety and sanity it does need to be done.

With my dad it happened quick like that too. We were told that we could wait 6 months to a year for a bed and he got one in a matter of a few weeks

Hi everyone...even though I'm sorta new to the TK thread I dont want to be know as a whiner, I just have to complain to someone! I've been sick for 2 weeks now. its gotta be the flu. I cant waste my sick days because yesterday I found out I need to have surgery to remove my gallbladder. AND! just to make everyone chuckle at my expense...I woke up to a lovely zit on the tip of my nose! im almost 27! i thought pimples were over with! sheesh!
So Im off to work...with kids...who will most definitely point out the obvious! I want to crawl back into bed....

sigh. well, thanks for letting me get that out.
