Who feels like a Thread-Killer? Part 6

For some reason today, I'm not getting email notices again when someone posts to the thread

Wish Kelly a very happy birthday for me Kim, even though it will be a day late when she gets it.

You don't have ALL of the snow there because we have had quite a bit tonight. There was no new snow when I got home from dance class but now the cars are totally covered. Expecting some wind tomorrow to blow it all around for us too ;)

Thanks for the Disney Cruise hugs. Really I have nothing to complain about, I booked a low category and I got a one level upgrade. Hey I could have stayed at the bottom :earboy2: I don't care so much, as long as we all get there, have fun and return home safely. ::yes::

Just went to check and the snow is still falling.

It looks so pretty but I wish I could push a button and make it all disappear.

It's just kind of drifting down, like someone has a sifter up there, sifting the snowflakes. :cold:

Maybe in some strange turn of events, WE'RE sending it to you? Because it's been blowing and drifting since it started here, about 2pm, non-stop. I'm gonna go shovel one last time for the night. Hopefully, if school is a Go tomorrow, I'll be able to get the van through the alley.

I really don't want to go out there. :guilty:

Tonight I did those break and bake Christmas chocolate chip cookies and brownies. Those are for Sat. AM. I'll make the banana muffins tomorrow night. Kelly still has an occasional bark, but she's much better, thank you! Today was her 8th Birthday! We slopped thru the snow and took her out to dinner. Changed the restaurant, due to distance, but we had a nice dinner. One of Matt's friends from school was our waiter. He brought Kelly a free choc ice cream with whipped cream and a cherry, but no singing. She made us sing at home with 8 candles in a Twinkie! All this baking, and my DD gets a Twinkie at home! :rotfl:

Happy Birthday Kelly!! :bday: :daisy: :flower1: :bday: :cake:

Twinkie's are yummy!! :p

ZJO Threadkillers!

Sorry ya'll are getting snow up north. I hear it's pretty bad in Chicago, Kim. Please wish Happy Birthday to Kelly from us threadkillers. From what I've read about your DD - she's a real keeper!

Robin - I would be a bit humbug about the DCL with the upgrades. I wonder if losing your room would have anything to do with it? It might have put ya'll at the bottom of the stack again. I hope you have an awesome cruise, tho.

Cally - my thanks to Roger as well and I know you're ready for him to come home! I see you're on-line. I'm in the invisible "lurker mode"....I keep it that way because I like to (try) to check at work....no luck this week!

Tkerbell - good luck with the party...you'll have a blast! I'm sorry I didn't explain what ZJO was. I was trying to do "HI" in all caps, and had my fingers on the wrong keys....that's what ZJO means and all my tags (thanks again - tag fairy) are about!

DalPal - you ARE busy! I hope all is well with Sultan. It's SO hard when they're sick. Unlike your DH, my DH HATES to Christmas shop! I do the shopping, wrapping and boxing....he sends them to the post office and is SO proud of himself for helping!

Well, I showed up early for my solo and guess what?.....I showed up for the wrong mass! Apparently, I was supposed to do the morning mass, not the evening mass! The folk group was there - not the organist! However, to fulfill a promise to my Dad I sang it after mass "acapela"....I think I did okay if I do say so myself! I guess next time I better make sure I've got the right mass! I hope the organist isn't mad at me! DH went out yesterday and found more sheet music for me (thanks honey bunny!).

Well, I've got to scoot! Ya'll take care and have a great day! ZJO!

Oh no! Well I'm glad you got to at least sing it to your dad

Have a great day Ann!

Hello TKer's!!!

Thanks for explaining the "ZJO" - I kinda got the "Hi" part but was curious about how it happened - Now I am enlightened!!! :rotfl2:

Had my hearing exam yesterday and the audiologist explained on a graph that I do show some hearing loss, I am -15 degrees in my left ear and -35 degrees in my right. She said that at my age it is siginficant but they really don't get "concerned" unless it is -50 degrees, so with that I am waiting to hear back from the ENT about options. Surgery may be in my future, apparently these boney growths (not spurs as previously thought and stated) are not very common but they can and do effect (or is that affect) hearing and can and will eventually puncture my ear drums.......

Cally - I reiterate what has been said already (or typed) A safe journey home to your DH and a BIG THANK YOU to him and to you for the sacrifice of a military spouse.....I grew up in a military home and my Dad did 2 tours of Vietnam and my both grandfathers and my dad's mom served in WWII - additionally I had many family members in WWII and Korea - I commend you and you DH (as well as the rest of your family) for the sacrifice and appreciate it more than you can ever imagine

Ann - OMGosh - An acepela solo in Latin - you are my new HERO!!! Bravo Bravo!! And thank you for the well wishes for the party - Honestly I am a terrible hostess - I don't know why I do these things to myself -

Kim - Happy Birthday to Kelly ( a bit belated but heartfelt nonetheless) Did you at least put a candle in the Twinkie???

I want a hippopotamus for Christmas...
Only a hippopotamus will do...
No crocodile or rhinosaruseseses
I only want hippopotamuseses.....

DH is out shoveling as DS11 couldn't finish and then I am off to finish my errands so I will check in later...

Take are TKer's - Gotta boggie!!!

I found the lyrics......

I Want a Hippopotamus For Christmas
-- writing credits go to John Rox, copyright 1950. It's included on a
tape by "Joanie Bartel's Christmas Magic."

"I want a hippopotamus for Christmas
Only a hippopotamus will do
I don't want a doll, no dinkey tinker toys
I want a hippopotamus to play with and enjoy

I want a hippopotamus for Christmas
I don't think Santa Claus will mind, do you?
He won't have to use a dirty chimney flue
Just bring him through the front door
That's the easy thing to do

I can see me now on Christmas morning
Creeping down the stairs
Oh what joy, what surprise
When I open up my eyes
To see a hippo hero standing there

I want a hippopotamus for Christmas
Only a hippopotamus will do
No crocodiles, no rhinosaurus
I only likes hippopotamuses [sic]
And hippopotamuses [sic] like me, too

Mom says a hippo would eat me up, but then
Teacher says a hippo is a vegetarian
There's lots of room for him in our two-car garage
I'd feed him there and wash him there and give him his massage."

Yep. My right arm is useless today, from shovelving I guess. :confused3 I try to hold something, pick something up, write with it.......nothing. Almost like it's asleep without the tingly feeling. Maybe I pinched a nerve. It's kinda funny/weird actually. :p

Where are you located Janet? How much snow did you get?

Sorry to read about the hearing loss. Will the surgery correct it entirely? :confused3 Best wishes with that.

morning all

I lurked earlier but didn't post.

Ann....ooops, oh well, better luck next time. At least your dad got to hear you sing. Now, when do WE get to hear you sing? :confused3

Plenty o' snow here today ::yes:: I don't think that I will be out shovelling though because it will probably melt soon. Unless of course I go outside and it is not too cold and I feel like staying out for awhile. Then I will shovel for something to do ;)

Well, gang, looks like I'll be doing most of the driving to Florida on our trip. Last night I booked Rick a flight for January 4, early evening. That way he can spend two more days at the shop, which makes it easier in the end. He doesn't really enjoy the drive that much anyways. He will be driving home from the cruise.

Alex, Liz, me, my mom and dad are leaving, probably very early am., on Tuesday Jan 3 and will hopefully arrive late afternoon Wednesday at the POP Century.

I have never driven that far before, but I have a whole van full of drivers so I suppose that we'll be okay ;) Alex is willing to drive for part of the time too, so we will probably switch off. I suppose my dad could drive (and probably would if I asked) but this was supposed to be his trip to sit back and enjoy the scenery. My mom won't drive and Liz really doesn't have that much experience but could drive if the highway wasn't busy.

It will be an adventure :smooth:

Hi All  Sorry it's been so long since my last post.....busy at work and covering some shifts for coworkers in need.

Thanks for all the P & PD :wizard: , our dad is doing fine....now Doc just has to figure out what caused the chest pain????

Robin, bummer about the room, but maybe they will still be bumping you up. Are you going to be stopping anywhere near Ann & me? Would love to meet up!!

Betsy, again more P & PD for Pepper :wizard: keep us informed. I know how important pets are to the family!!

Tkerbell, I'm sure your party will be great....give us a report.

Cally, like you only rain yesterday and this morning. This afternoon is pretty :sunny: . Just a little chilly. So glad you DH will be home for Christmas tell him Thank you from our family. :goodvibes My DH and DF are retired from the service and my DS is serving now. Not the easiest life, but I sure am glad some are willing!!

Okay my vote on the gift is the 22nd also. That way BP will be home and Colleen will be here (don't forget to bring your SS gift with). Plus I am supposed to work on Christmas 7am-7pm. Unless we open late....I don't think everyone will be able to stand it..... :rotfl: :rotfl2: Now all we need to do is decide on a good time.......????

Ann, BRAVO, BRAVO....ENCORE. :cheer2: :cheer2:  I actually thought it was better this time without the organ!! You were fabulous!!! :love2:

Hi ya BP, is the package talking to you yet? Be careful with the shaking!! (All of you). Mine hasn't arrived yet......but I'm excited!!! :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Still no word from Ophie and TZM :confused3 .....hope everything is okay. Hope your back is better TZM!! :)

Chat with you all later :grouphug:

I don't know for sure where we will be stopping.

Usually when we drive down we spend the first night 1/2hour or so north of Atlanta. Last time we met Ann and Tom the next day as we drove south, and they came over to the I75 to meet us. Of course that was on a weekend. This time we will be going through on Wednesday,Jan4... a little harder for working folks to plan for.

We will probably be going back through Jacksonville on the morning our cruise ends. Don't know exactly what time of morning that will be, but that will be on Thursday Jan 12.

I just saw something awesome, sad but awesome at the same time.

Liz and I were in the kitchen. Our house backs on a field so lots of wildlife. There was a big bang on the patio door, another bird hit the door, happens quite often actually. I went to look and see if the bird survived the hit. When I got to the door there was a big hawk or falcon grabbing onto a smaller bird, right outside my door :earseek: The poor little bird and maybe the hawk too, hit the door. I wished that I had approached the door with a little more caution because as soon as the hawk saw me he grabbed the bird and took off with it. Poor little bird  Beautiful hawk though.

Now I have little bird feathers littering the snow in my backyard and cool hawk wing marks in the snow.
