Rose is indeed my best friend
We met when our boys were 6 (now 19)...they played soccer together. Our girls are the same ages too, they were 4 at the time.
At a soccer game one saturday afternoon, Rose and I were sitting next to each other in our lawn chairs watching the boys play and someone had the brilliant idea for Rose and I to become girls scout leaders together. The girls were gonna be daisies (5yr old girl scouts) but the new troop needed leaders. I was naive, I said yes :inserthomealonesmileyhere:
Seven years later Rosee and I were taking that same troop on a Junior Girl Scout trip to Florida...
13 years later we still vacation together. The girls are still girl scouts together (we retired as leaders in 99-2000) the boys still hang together. Both going to college and obsessed with girls/socializing.
Rose was the smart one who during all our travels was buying up time shares all over the east coast...we both reap the benefits of these timeshares as most times she goes away she wants me and my family right there with her.
In October she has a dilemma...the three bedroom house in Florida for a week and only two people to stay in it
: what am I to do...think I should help her by going?
Rose is a theme park nut too, worse than me...she's the one who plans all my trips, alls I have to do most times is to get my self there. If I go in October it would be a Universal trip...she insists on doing halloween horror nights every year. Cool friend Huh?!?!?

seaside for two weeks, relaxing.
Hard earned, well worth it...VACATION@!
Even that brought tears to my eyes...can you imagine when I send him off to school???
I remember the look on Adrian's face the day I put him on the bus to school for the first time...I have photographic proof of that look...that, Mom, Please, can I go now...look. Such a handsome young face and I was the melted mess.
- and I've got leftovers!!!!!!). The sponsor for the team we combined with was our local Dairy Queen, and he supplied hot dogs, hamburgers, buns, cheese, condiments, and unlimited Dilly bars, and Stars and Buster bars, all for only $50!!!! For 72 people!! We got a GREAT deal there. He also supplied a tent, so we had some shade. Really nice guy, and his son was on the other team as well.
Hence the generosity I think.
We ended up giving him $75 (still cheap) since we had $25 left over after shopping. And then, the coaches and assistant's (hubby was an asst.-kinda) they all got $10 gift certificates for Dairy Queen, and each kid got a coupon with their trophy for a free sundae, and then, because I helped, I got coupons for the rest of our family!
Can you say ICE CREAM?!?!?!
) There was a jumping jack and dunking tank (never even got over to those), the park has a sprinkler, and the fire dept. came with their hose and had a HUGE sprinkler going on for the kids - we could see it way in the air from across a football field and about 8-10 baseball diamonds. Nice day too. Some people were really hot, but I was comfortable.
I suspect some noisy days ahead, as this bird is usually OUT of its cage A LOT at my parent's and will not set one foot out while its here because none of us will handle him.
Where has summer gone, and why did it go sooooo fast?!
I think it's been a slow weekend all around the boards.
I know I am a mushy mom because I was the same way with Dante. On his first day of school when he started kindergarden I was full of emotion. I don't know if I was happy, excited, sad, worried....
I worry about those school bus drivers.
And the kindergarden teacher will probably have to walk me out of the class too...
I guess we all have been busy...
, and it starts chirping LOUDLY. I stepped into the doorway, it quiets down almost entirely. I step into the kitchen again, LOUD chirping again. It's pretty funny.
