Good Morning all,

Oh Robin,
Sorry to hear you cant make the meet....BUT I can understand.....That would be too long of a drive for me ...if I had to do the whole thing again the next day.... :moped: We will meet up somtime Im sure....

So glad I dont have to worry about schools and books anymore....the most I have to do is show up with my video camera the morning of Victoria and Elizabeths first day..... Ahhhh the joys of being the grandparent :teeth:

Kim,
Your block party sounds a little wild!....

Colleen,
Like my new ticker? :goodvibes
Great news about the AKL....Have you ever been there?...We went to Bomas once..(not my favorite)
The Lodge is very impressive...I liked it...I dont think I will ever get to stay there though ...DH did not like it.....Too far from everything except AK...(not his favorite park)....So you will have to tell me all about it...Ill enjoy it through your eyes... :)

Well Ive got to get ready for the family...(Sun. Breakfast)...and then back to work on the deck (almost done!)...

Have a great day everyone! :sunny:

Colleen, I wish that I could go on a vacation without my hubby. He doesn't believe in separate vacations really. although he spent most of this summer away by himself :scratchin I do believe that I have some ammunition there huh :teeth:

I would take my mom and go to Disney, just the 2 of us. She would also love to have a vacation away from my dad but I don't think she would ever do it. It would probably upset my dad too much if she did.

So, Colleen, you go and enjoy yourself. I'm envious but I'm very glad that you get to have so much fun :cheer2:

Betsy, I seriously thought about coming but it would turn into a 3 day trip for me. One day to drive there, one day to visit with you guys and then another day to drive back  Too long unfortunately.

I love your new countdown though ;)

Enjoy your breakfast and we will be waiting to see the pictures of your new deck really soon.

I've seen the AKL and it is very beautiful there. I don't think that I will ever stay there either. It's not really that I couldn't afford to stay there if I really wanted to but I'm much too practical and won't spend the money that they want for a room. I would rather stay at the POP Century and use the excess money saved on the room for something else. To each their own I guess. :)

Pleasant Sunday TKers :sunny:

I'm home doing...guess what...laundry!!!!! Popping in cause I have a moment.

Betsy: Cool countdown to the Faire...I'd like to add one for Sept, Oct and December but you know the sig police would hunt me down and obliterate all my work. I'll just watch yours :)

DSs girlfriend found out about our little field trip and wants to come too. Says she's never been there. If they both can get off work that day I'll be bringing Cate and Adrian. And yes, I already warned her about your knack for axes

Nope-never been to AKL. I asked Britt if she had one hotel on Disney property she would really want to stay at what would it be and she said AKL. When I saw my fellow cruisers get such an awesome rate I had to throw it at Mom and see if she'd bite...I never really expected her to change our reservations but I am oh so happy she did. :cool1: I know how expensive this hotel is but at the rate she got it's only $10 more than the Radisson was. I'd be kicking myself forever if I hadn't asked.

I've been lucky to have stayed at the Grand Floridian thanks to my friend Donna. Another place I never would have gone if it weren't for my fellow Disney nutz. She had a room all to herself and had always talked of inviting me...the minute she said her son wasn't going and she had an empty bed I was right on the computer looking for that airfare.

Can't wait to see your deck!

I bet it'll be a wonderful feeling when you can open that back door andd actually step out thru it...

DH is sweet to let me go to FL as often as I have without him

He knows this is what it takes to keep me sane. He knows life creates my stress and Disney alleviates it.

Most times I'm invited the cost is minimal (thank God!)

This trip I paid for my airfare, Rose says she can get me in Busch Gardens under her annual pass. She may even buy a season pass for Universal, she says if she buys the USF/IOA pass she can get me into Halloween Horror Nights for only $25. The only full price ticket I'll have to buy is the one day we do Disney.

Sorry you can't make the trip to PA

I understand it's too long a trip-I will keep trying to hook something up for us.

I checked the airfare for Dec/Jan and noticed that if we fly home on the 3rd I can get a better price. That means I may be able to catch up with you the day you get to Pop right?

~Gotta go check me laundry~

I'll be back ... :moped:

No, we are right now scheduled to leave home, driving in the direction of Florida on January 4 and arriving at the POP Century on January 5.

If I can get a good deal on flights then we might still leave home on January 4, flying down and arriving at the POP Century on the 4th instead.

That would be ideal, less driving, arriving fresher and having a whole extra day at WDW. Then we also have the expense of a rental car. But since my parents would be paying half it is not so bad.

We got a new camera ~~ well I think it is the newer model of the same camera we already had.

We got it before Alex went to camp and he had it with him all summer, so I thought I'd try it out today and see how it works.

A couple of pictures for you.

A busy bee.

Aw Shucks, missed again

The cost of flying and renting a car right now is cheaper than it is to drive down with the cost of gas. Two airfares $235, rental car & tank of gas $120 = $355. 12 tanks of gas for the Explorer 6 down, 6 back = $540. A smaller car would do better but gas is still averaging $2.50 to $2.65 a gallon down here. I find that the larger your party the more cost effective it is to drive. $120 airfare x 5 people $600. You just lost the savings having to fly that many people.

 Loooove The photos!

Very nice Robin...now you have to tell me what camera you used.

I agree that the more people you have the better the savings when you drive. We are now down to 4 people and somehow the older you get the more appealing it is just to step onto that plane.

Airfares are not that cheap yet when we are going. The cheapest I have gotten was $176.00/person (approx $700.). Small car rental of $150.00 plus a tank of gas around $40. Food for the days of travel around 100. Parking/tolls-$80. ~~~ approx total for 4- $1070US$ which converts to $1296 CDN $'s

Drive ~~ gas $350. Food - 300.00, parking/toll-50, motels (1 night in each direction- we don't do it all in one long haul) $160.00 ~~approx total for 4 - $860. US which translates into $1042 CDN

So still cheaper to drive but not necessarily as nice or as easy.

I used a Kodak Easy Share 7430.

And NOW I'm going to go out and feed the fish and see if I can figure out what that silly orange thing is. :rotfl:

ZJO Threadkillers!

I've been absent for 2 days, but I have a good reason......I was karaoking on Saturday and BBQing on Sunay.

Yes, both involved the sisters. Yes, both of them were loads of FUN and yes, I'm tired from not enough sleep....I imagine the sister's feel the same thing. Now that I stop, look back, and think about it - do ya'll see a pattern here?
SISTERS!

Anyway, tinknutts oldest son was in town and we did karaoke til around 3am on Saturday - got home at 4 (personal note: Robin I PM'd you 4am, but that was when I got home....sorry!). Anyway, I danced almost the entire time and am SO sore! We had a GREAT time. Laughing, singing and playing poker! I even won $2.00!

Then this afternoon, we had a BBQ at tinknutts house. Ton's of fun - as always. She's really wonderful! Of course, all the sisters were there!

So, here I sit.....I've lost my voice, I'm tired and I'm sore.......but happy! I think I'll go to bed and call it a weekend!

Nighty-night ladies - thanks for listening to me whine on Friday and gab here tonight!

:cool1:

I'm glad that the "sisterhood" had such a wonderful weekend.

:teeth:

Morning!

Nice pictures Robin!

Colleen I had fun looking at your pictures too! That beach looks great!

Ann~ Karaoke til 3am!! FUN!

Hi All :sunny:

Sorry about my absentism (sp?), but my DS and his girlfriend were home from VA, and I spent all the time I could with them. They left this morning :sad2:
I miss them already.

But the weekend was great....Friday we stayed at Daytona Beach on the beach, checked out bike shops and the area, Sat. we went to sister Mary's house and sang, danced and drank :upsidedow (Learned about a new drink called the cherry bomb...ever had one?) Then Sun had both sisters families over for BBQ and took a couple of pics....Maybe ann can share one, I can't put picks up yet (also don't know how!)

Took a little while to catch up on the reading since I haven't been on since Wed night.

Betsy - sounds like your deck is coming along....you'll enjoy it!! :teeth:

Wow how great about the TKers meet. Hope you all have a great time at the fair.

Robin - plan to work on the fabric this week, will get with you on that...btw how do you pm?

Hi Cally :wave2:

Ann - did you get the picks from this weekend? How did you like them? Gonna post one?

Well thats about all for me, headed for the gym with DS Brad he's my gym partner...need to work off the weekend cherry bombs!!! :rotfl:

:wave2: tinknutt

Sounds like you had a busy, fun weekend.

I think that Ann has not figured out how to post pictures yet either ;) But something can be done to get them posted for you if you want to.

Thanks for the help with the fabric.

To PM someone ~~ if you are on a thread and you see their user name on the left hand side of the screen, you click on it and there is an option that says for example.... send a private message to tinknutt.

You can also go up on the right hand side of the screen where it says private messages and click on that and then click on send new message on the left hand side of the screen.

Hope this helps.

Hello everyone!

Wow ...TN ....Ann....party girls! ...Sounds like you all had a great time...:cool1:
Sure would love to see those pics! :teeth:

We had a few set backs on the deck  ....but its getting there :) ...When its all done I will post some pics....

Much cooler today then it has been...not to cool...but not short weather..

Im going walking with Sultan pepper....Its about a 45-50 Min. brisk walk..Down my road to Falls brook at the top of the falls and back ...I figure if I try to do that 2-4 times a week ...I should at least be getting a good cardio workout...
Anyway Ill be back.... :wave2:
