Yay for your DS's basketball team :yay: :woohoo:
UMMMM...i love hershey's choc kiss cookies......one of my favs! we probably won't bake....but fortunately i have a neighbor who always bakes & we get a nice plate of cookies & my good friend Stacey bakes about 12 different kinds of cookies & we get a huge platter of those...& her Mom ALWAYS makes us the BEST tamales...you know Tamales are a BIG thing here at Xmas!!! We are expecting a yucky winter storm later today.

Right now the sun is shining though.

I think I will go out and get some things done before the nasty weather hits.

Anybody else under winter storm watches or warnings??

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Hmmm, wrapping Christmas presents or:jumping1: :rolleyes1

:lmao:  :rolleyes1

I can;t believe you wrote that. When I answered that poll my familoy told me I had to go change my favorite song to David and Bing singing Little Drummer Boy and then I just forgot to do it. I remember watching that Bing Crosby Christmas Special when I was a teenager. My Monm wanted to know who David Bowie was. I thought the two of them singing together would be sooo bad! And then WOW!I was totally stunned and ever since that special it has been my absolute favorite Christmas song. I cry when I hear it. It is just soooo beautiful! Two of my all time favorite performers. I missed mt 10 year HS reunion (many years ago) because I had tickets to a David Bowie concert the same night.

I saw the tv show, never got to see Bowie in concert tho. This song proved Bowie could sing and wasn't just a "stage show." I grew up watching the classic singer/dancers and their movies, Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, Jerry Lewis, Dean Martin, Elvis, Bob Hope...Bowie was my genre. I just teared up reading your response

 Thank goodness for Disney respite! You are a much better person than I! I wouldn't even want my MIL in the house for a night let alone a few months!!!! And as much as she drives me crazy, she's nothing compared to your MIL and all that she has done. Good news is that you have a guaranteed spot in Heaven so you can really misbehave here on Earth now!;)

I've seen what you write about your MIL. No offense to you, but yours has a mean streak, mine was just stupid. Stupidity is easier to forgive.

I'll give you guys some details...

My IL's were perfect from the day I met John. They were always there for us. My MIL was the driving force. She had a bad habit of not telling her husband things if she knew it would upset him. She hid things from him.

They were old school, his name was on the house deed and she stayed home and watched the kid.

One day, she decided to mortgage her house. She couldn't. The deed was not in her name. My ILs live in a very small town. They know everybody. MIL got a local notary to sign off on FILs signature transferring the deed from Dad's name to Mom's....and she got her mortgage. and then another. and then another. Guess what? She wasn't paying them.

One day, 38 years into a marriage, FIL comes home from work to movers. She had lost the house.

He had no idea.

My husband, their son, visited them after work almost every day. He too, got to Dad's house, and saw movers. He had no idea she'd lost the house.

That was where it started.

We then found out she owed major money, she defaulted on the loans, went to court a few times, and hadn't told any of us a thing.

Oh! I forgot to tell you...she had already seen the movers.

Long enough to grab a few things before they could, and run away.

I have since gotten Dad his money back. His sister and I worked with his lawyer, he got the value of his house back based on fraud. We sued the notary that signed off on the deed and the mortgage company that never verified its legality.

Dad now lives with us, his "apartment" is my finished basement. He's a snowbird. He lives in Florida with his sister every winter.

That brings us to today. MIL wound up in SC. She misses her family and wants to come home. We've made it very clear to her that we are not bumping Dad for her. She is welcome to use the room til March. She needs to find a place of her own.

She's anxiously waiting the arrival of her son. She just called as I am typing this. They expect to be done and back by the end of tomorrow.

My chest tightens up whenever I have to talk to her. I had to deal with everything that she dropped on us when she ran away. I had to step in as matriarch of this family. It was hard. It took two years for Dad's case to settle. I handled it. I am good like that. But I get stressed...I am human.

Did I tell you she never apologized for any of it?

To this day, refuses to admit she'd done anything wrong.

Hubby knows my love for Disney. He knows how much more I smile on these vacations than anywhere else in my world. My friends and family make these trips possible, hubby just lets me go.

...and I'm going!

6 more sleeps til Disney...Lord help me thru this week~

I haven't read everything you all wrote last night. I am blessed with such supportive friends. Imaginary, axe murderin, big tree buyin, FRIENDS :grouphug:

Colleen!! All I can say is WOW! Those pics are amazing! The colors are so vibrant and you know how to take them just right! :thumbsup2 I like the different parts of the trees and the clouds with the sun... just so pretty!

The children and the pups are adorable too :goodvibes thank you thank you thank you

And I love the brick around your kitchen.. that's pretty cool:thumbsup2

My sister once said my kitchen makes her feel like she's in a French Chalet~

:thumbsup2

;)

I have too many of those darn happy meal toys :lmao: At first they wouldn't let me throw them away... but I got sneaky on them and when they weren't looking in the trash they went!!!:3dglasses

Dante surprised me today.... he said he didn't want a Happy Meal.. he wanted an adult meal

I almost told him there was NO WAY I'd get him a regular meal:snooty: ...but being the push over that I am..... I got him what he wanted :upsidedow

:sad1: My boy is growing up

I still have about a couple more years of Happy Meals with DeV:goodvibes

And after looking at the tree all decorated....I'm glad I didn't go with the small tree;) I'd take pics but my camera decided to die on me...so it's charging right now...

The entire bottom of my kids toyboxes are STILL covered in McDonalds toys

Your son can totaly get a Happy Meal! Double Cheeseburger Babeeee!

I get them all the time, with a bottle of water for my drink. CHeap lunch with a free Disney toy...for under $4 you can't beat it.

Absolutely BEAUTIFUL pics!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

WOW, so flippen impressed here!:yay:

Thank you thank you thank you :worship:

I really do like the camera...my mom has one that I honestly feels makes the pictures look grey. No color, no pop! I look for shadows and light in my pics...this one REALLY brings them out.

I was taking pics out front again last night...it may take me a while but I'll get them posted...

I too hope Mom gets better, if she'll listen to anybody she'll listen to her friend...

your digi frame gift sounds awesome! My sister got one for her birthday, I was jealous...moreso probably cause my Mom talked sis out of buying one for me for my birthday :faint:

I've looked at those fuzzy crocs...haven't had the nerve to buy anything croc just yet~

 Good luck Colleen with your MIL coming to stay.

I also have MIL issues. We hardly see them at all anymore, not like we used to anyways.

Mine started a conversation to Rick and I with this line, addressed to Rick..... I know that your place is with your wife BUT..........:sad2: That was 5 years ago.

She was convinced that our kids were being raised improperly. Kids need guidance you know....... not fancy Disney vacations:confused3 And couldn't we just TRY to change the way we were raising them, for her sake. Hmm, they were 19 and 16 at the time, a little late for that.

My MIL has mental health issues and sometimes stops taking her medication. Even with all that it's hard to forgive someone who "attacks" your children.

So Colleen, some more    for you.

Oh yeah and McDonald's toys, we got a ton of them here too still.

I've actually put a box of them away, mainly unopened in their original packages.

I get myself Hamburger Happy Meals still too:thumbsup2

My Step Grandma was like that to my Mother. For some ODD reason, she thought its better for kids to be miserable!:confused3 :confused3 :confused3 We should have many chores.... only 1 present for Christmas....no TV(:scared1: )....NO SNACKS in the house.....yadda yadda yadda! Thankfully Mom NEVER listened to her!:thumbsup2

That's what friends are for :lmao:

I just did up all of my Christmas cards. I signed up for some card exchanges here on the DISboards so I did all of them at the same time.

Now to go out and get the stamps to mail them all:eek:

So how do those card exchanges work? Do you have to send everyone that signs up a card or do you get partners?

:lmao: oooooooooooooooooKAY City Girl!:goodvibes

But I'm far from a city girl... never lived in a city. :confused3

off to shower & then to my Creative Memories scrapbook event for the day...hope to finish my april cruise album.....:rolleyes1

THANKFULLY James STILL does and he is 13.
He aint giving his toys up!
Also he eats 'like a bird', but he always orders the regular hamburger (he is cheap to feed) with just ketchup & pickles. He feels special if he gives "special orders". I dont have the heart to tell him...Thats how they come anyway!:rolleyes1
