hiya TKer's...

Yeah we really do get huge temperature fluctuations. Went to Kaohu's baseball game...SOOO glad we did...it was 102 when we left here - got to his game and it was 88....that was kind of weird...and very windy...by the time we left there it was 77 and about 89 at home...so been a nice evening...DH &N I watched "Superman Returns"....ryan is on his xbox in the garage playing live with friends in Watsonville.

Went to the outlets today to try to find some "cheap" bags for our CM event on the 15th...well it took longer to find a parking spot than anything....OMG...every one was taken...and this is a HUGE outlet center...i got lucky and was able to pull into one as a gal left....i know better than to try to shop there on holidays....didn't find any bags though:sad1: :sad1: :sad1:

DU~OMG - i was laughing SOOOO hard at your parade comments...that is TOOO much~
we don't have a celtic festival (that i know of)....ours are all about food....
Mushroom Mardi Gras
Strawberry Festival
Squid Festival
Artichoke Festival
Garlic Festival

well - pretty much really past my bedtime...:woohoo: how fun to stay up SOOOOO late on a sunday night...but started a new book last night....so should go read some of it

Ohhhh the squid festival sounds yummy. I'd like some Calamari Fra Diavlo with a side of fried ravioli plaese!

Would anyone care to come here in October for the Pickle festival?:confused3

No food festivals around here:confused3

Most of our "stuff" seems to revolve around history.

We are in a history rich area.... War battles in the late 1800's, Uncle Tom's Cabin and the Underground railroad. Lots of end of the line black slavery escape history.

Lots of dress in period costume and re-enacting the way of life back then.

At least that's the stuff that I'm aware of.

Oh, wait, there is a cherry festival every year in a small town not too far away from here.

They have a pit spitting contest and everything.......... wild times :rotfl2:

Nope, but I only saw one booth selling actual Irish Food. The rest were carnival vendors. I had french fries and lemonade for lunch!:rotfl: :rotfl:

You should come to our italian festival at the end of september. Lizzy has been contacting the vendors for that. That same weekend the next town over is having there garlic festival. So you can do one day at the Italian fest and one day at the Garlic fest and if you have time fit in the real attraction around here...apple picking!

Why is Lizzy contacting Vendors???????

They are always the SAME Carnival vendors no matter what the Fill in the Blank Ethnic Festival is going on!

We have a wonderful revolutionary war reinactment here in October. My city was the capital of New York State during the revolutionary war and the Bristish came and burned down the city. They reinact the battles and have an encampment in a park right by our house. We always walk over to the encampment at night. It is fascinating! My favorite festival! One of the taverns that was here during the revolution is still an operating restuarant and it is used as a meeting room during the reinactment just as it was during the revolutionary war!

:lmao:

Goooooooooooood Mornin!!!!!!

Gooood Morning!

LizzY is working for our visitors center/tourism this summer. She has been getting in touch with all of the Italian restaurants in the region. They are trying to make this festival a real Italian festival!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: I just checked with her and she says yes they are going to have the carnival vendors there too. God forbid we don't have corndogs!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Now this sounds like it has some educational/historical backbone to it...

Lots of different calamari at the squid fest (but i don't eat seafood of any kind).....altho i did try it once....and i haven't ever seen fried ravioli's anywhere....doesn't mean they aren't at any of these food fests, i just have never seen them nor tried them, but the squid fest does HAVE some nice mimosas!!!

You all have a lot of festivals!

We have the farm faire in July and fireworks and a parade for the fourth just like du's except the town always holds that the week after the fourth. That same parade gets duplicated again for labor day and memorial day sans the fireworks.

We never made it to the docks yesterday, John said only a couple boats went out so it wasn't worth the ride over.

Vacation has been nice, I will be really relaxed by the time I get back to work. My bonus is now I have a threadkiller meet to look forward to at Disney in a couple weeks!

After that I will have to make do til John and Adrian and I hit Orlando with rose in December.

Happy labor day everyone!
