That's fabulous that Ryan comes away from a score like that with a good attitude!

Cinco de Mayo in October??? Your town is wierd.

I totally got your directions for where bonnet creek is, thank you!

And thank you Brenda for the dates...

Rose and I will do epcot on Saturday! We did fwf a couple years ago, when we met ophie. It was fabulous! Rose is the wine taster, I do the beers and we share all the food so we have room to try almost everything. The portions are small but believe it or not we were still full before we made it all the way around.

As far as I could tell the meet was set for the lobby of the beach club. Is callys crew the only ones not doing epcot that day? Are you still having ice cream with them?

I am not positive Britt is coming. IMO, you can leave your ressie alone and they will make room if we show up with one extra. I've done this at Disney before and it was never an issue.

I bathed penny this morning, the guys went fishing, I think rose and me might hit the beach again. Have a great Sunday everyone!

DU....YES your town is REALLY WEIRD!!! but i guess they feel that if they can't join us for a "REAL" garlic fest & a "REAL" cinco de mayo....have your own....so that's cool ....i think...:rotfl:
oh...btw - i so thought of you last night when we were leaving the restaurant...there was this guy with this shirt on .... it says DU on the front.....of course i think of you...then he turns around and it's for Ducks Unlimited...

Enjoy the beach colleen...i'm working on my spreadsheets this a.m. and we are going up to Sunnyvale later today to catch Ryan's HS friend play baseball - he's on a traveling team...and hopes to make it to the pros someday...I hope so TOO....i want some box seats :cool1:

We wound up poolside, doing more laundry...

John and ed will be back later, they went fishing, we are all going to see the fishing boats come in around 3. There was a record catch of 1000 pounds this past Thursday.

Fried Italian food at an Irish festival? How appropriate ;)

oceanside or poolside - i'd take either one today...another scorcher here today...uggghhh....it was 85 at 10am already...

when we left Gilroy yesterday, it was 97 deg...when we got near my office it was 76 and in Monterey 66 and foggy....then in Carmel it was like 77...so perfect....this is all within 45 miles....

today's baseball game (up near San Jose) will be as hot or hotter....so glad that it's not till 4:30...will still be very warm...but hopefully not 100+

It is amazing the temp difference you guys get on the west coast. The east coast isn't quite that dramatic of a difference. We might get a 15 degree variance between coast and inland. In land will feel hotter because of the humidity levels. The humidity levels are a lot lower on the coast when there is a breeze off the ocean. It can be hotter at the beach if we get a breeze from inland.

Are you going to todays game?

Speaking of festivals I just got back from a Celtic festival that is held in our little city every labor day weekend. It's called the Hoolie on the Hudson. After years of looking I finally purchased an Irish Knit Fisherman's sweater. I love these sweaters and look at them every year and always figure they are too expensive so I never get one and always regret it later. SO this year I finally bought one!:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: I know I'll wear it enough to get my money's worth.:cheer2:

That's cool! Those sweaters are right up there with the Norwegian wool you can get at epcot.

My John has one from Norway at epcot, it was expensive but it will last him forever.

I love shopping around the world at epcot as well as I like drinking my way around the world ;)

My justification was that it was cheaper at the festival than they are EPCOT!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I got my Brittany a talking stitch online with the same justification, except that it was cheaper than the one we saw at magic kingdom :lmao:

John's dad bought the sweater at epcot. I buy tshirts. I like the perfumes there but have yet to buy one. My favorites are in Canada and Norway.

It is UNBELIVEABLE how they screw up major events up here. I went to a church bizarre once. They BIG selling point was a TENT with 45 tables of filthy dirty old moth eaten clothes. You buy a bag for $5.00 and fill as much as you can!!!!!:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

People were going crazy over this. I mean really really bad stuff. I threw out better!:confused3

Their 4th of july parade is a fire truck goes by, throws cheap candy to the crowds (I alway manage to get hit in the eye with a pepermint)...5 minutes later the cub scout troop comes by. With at least 2 kids crying , cause their feet hurt!.....then 5 minutes after that ...a old man driving a 72 chevy corvette drives by, with a Banner saying "Stroudsburg Classic Car Club"...then 5 minutes later the girl scouts show up with at least one girl holding herself because she gotta GO!:scared1: Then the Big finally another fire Truck with the Mayor (who is only seen on this day) shows up and throws pencils (with his name on them) at the crowds...some are sharpened!!!!:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

What kind of desserts do you have?

The only stop we make for dessert is in France. Oh yeah, and candy in Germany...

The middle eastern one (cant remember the name) next to Japan. Mexico, Canada, Italy (you can get dessrts from the resturant...to GO)

Sounds like fun...the food and wine festival has some good dessert offerings, you ever go during the fwf?

hiya TKer's...

Yeah we really do get huge temperature fluctuations. Went to Kaohu's baseball game...SOOO glad we did...it was 102 when we left here - got to his game and it was 88....that was kind of weird...and very windy...by the time we left there it was 77 and about 89 at home...so been a nice evening...DH &N I watched "Superman Returns"....ryan is on his xbox in the garage playing live with friends in Watsonville.

Went to the outlets today to try to find some "cheap" bags for our CM event on the 15th...well it took longer to find a parking spot than anything....OMG...every one was taken...and this is a HUGE outlet center...i got lucky and was able to pull into one as a gal left....i know better than to try to shop there on holidays....didn't find any bags though:sad1: :sad1: :sad1:

DU~OMG - i was laughing SOOOO hard at your parade comments...that is TOOO much~
we don't have a celtic festival (that i know of)....ours are all about food....
Mushroom Mardi Gras
Strawberry Festival
Squid Festival
Artichoke Festival
Garlic Festival

well - pretty much really past my bedtime...:woohoo: how fun to stay up SOOOOO late on a sunday night...but started a new book last night....so should go read some of it

Nope, but I only saw one booth selling actual Irish Food. The rest were carnival vendors. I had french fries and lemonade for lunch!:rotfl: :rotfl:

You should come to our italian festival at the end of september. Lizzy has been contacting the vendors for that. That same weekend the next town over is having there garlic festival. So you can do one day at the Italian fest and one day at the Garlic fest and if you have time fit in the real attraction around here...apple picking!

Ahhh...classic, small town America! I love parades like that. THat's how it was (and still is) in the town where NSALZ and I grew up!

Now if you grew up in that town it would be more fun, because the fireman would give you a shout out as they went by you!
