Only a few more days and I can relax for a couple weeks~

I bathed Penny last night but really should get her to the groomer before we go~its been raining and she's so close to the ground she is literally like a mop.

WOW - it's coming up quick!!!!....you know - the longest vacation i've taken at one time is a mere 10 days....i really need to try a 14 day trip someday....

Good Morning Threadkillers!

I hope everyone is having a happy day. The XM vs. Sirius debate is going well...don't you think?

I can name on one hand the times I've listened to the radio in the last 5 years. Unless I was in the car - and that's pretty seldom ever since I got the iPod. At home, I have a bunch of music channels with the cable TV. I listen to "Singers and Standards" Sinatra, Darren, Peggy Lee and the rest. Other than that...Christmas music!

I woke up REALLY groggy this morning. It was the weirdest sensation. I could hardly get moving! I'm better now, so I'm gonna start the housework. I'm going to change the sheets and wash the dog! It does seem to be doggy bath/grooming season here at the Threadkillers board. I'd MUCH rather be washing her for vacation like TW.....

Tonight's dinner is grilled flank steak, sauteed (fresh) spinach with parmesan cheese shavings and sliced summer tomatoes.

Easiest thing in the world to make. Throw Boneless, skinless chicken breasts in the crockpot with lots of salsa to cover them. I also like to throw in a can of diced tomatoes with chile peppers. I cook them on low all day, while I'm at work, and dinner is ready when I get home. I've even made it with frozen chicken, when I've forgooten to defrost the chicken in advance. I like to let it cook til the chicken just kind of shreds. Then I serve it over rice using the cooked salsa as a sauce!

Hello TKers..

Im back....It was a crappy weekend for a campout...but we had the RV...so It wasnt too bad..
It was chilly, so we didnt go out in the kayaks, but we did go bike riding,...I was so glad that Albert still fit in his basket...We biked all around the state park Monday morning...Im glad we did..because it started to rain in the afternoon,..In the evening we watched "where the red furn grows"..Its a pretty old movie..I bought at the store for five bucks...I thought it was pretty good....even if it did make me cry.....
Then we watched "March of the penquins"...(another $5 movie)..That was pretty good too...Boy I never realized how hard those little guys have it....

Brenda..Rose got us started doing two weeks in NC a few years back...

It's pure heaven~

We tried going back to just one week...yeah right...two weeks every year now babee! You are welcome to come next year~I'll keep ya in the loop of when if you want. Rose and I do different weeks every year. This year and last are the only ones we've ever done during school. It's nice crowd-wise but very hard to get others to come with because of them all being in or having to send their kids to school...

Imagine finishing your first week of vacation, just getting into the groove of actually relaxing, and it's over...

We don't have to deal with that anymore!!!

Colleen - that is very cool....i guess next year when i go to Italy with Ry's HS class i'll get two wks....my very first...but no relaxing there - unless it's possible on that long flight over&back....it was when DH & I went....but with a bunch of 'almost seniors' highly doubtful

Hi Betsy....sorry your weekend wasn't as good as hoped...weather wise...but sounds like you still had a really nice time.....i LOVE March of the Penguins...that is really sad but their perseverance & dedication is amazing!

We haven't decided yet on our 20th trip....DH doesn't want to go anywhere....kids want to go to Maui (but would settle for Mexico)....DH can really be such a kill joy.....

Tomorrow is the 1st day of school....

Good Morning TKer's

Wanted to stop in for a quick hello - Have to catch up on lots - or I'll just follow along....I am sure I will pick up real fast -

News on the workfront - I snagged myself a job - locally (10 mins from the house, 10-20 mins from the kids schools) - no commuting for me - I got a Admin Assist. position with American Public University School the benefits are amazing - just one perk alone is they will pay 100% of any college course I wish to take to complete my degree and 50% to any family member - I get a laptop so that if I have to work from home I can (sick kiddo, snow.....etc) with out taking any leave - my new boss is amazing she secured more money for me than originally planned - I start on 28 August, the day after kiddos start back to school - that means work clothes shopping I HATE SHOPPING ( I am probably the only woman in the world that truly detests shopping)

DH & I are planning a cruise with the kids and my parents in November over Thanksgiving (not Disney - no flames please) the grandparents wil be staying with my brother in Naples, FL - looking forward to that - today I am off to go do some minor school supply shopping with the kids - since 3 out of 4 of my kiddos are in the middle school/ high school range it doesn't matter what I buy they will need something else - so I wait until after the first day when they bring home the LISTS from each teacher that I do the full fledge school supply shopping - did I mention I HATE TO SHOP!!!!

Well TKer's that about fills you all in - I will check in later and try to decipher the who's who on the THREADKILLER thread!!!
