Colleen, just got done looking at the first set of your pics.

The pics of the beach with the sun setting (or is it rising?) are beautiful!!! You got some great shots!

Those were from the largest dune on the east coast, soundside, at sunset.

Since we weren't beach front this year I have more sunsets than sunrises. I only got up early one morning to get sunrise photos.

I'm not sure that a vacation with that many people hanging around would be the right vacation for me but if you enjoyed it, hey that's great.

There were some beautiful shots in there, that's for sure.

You would've LOOOOVED the second week then, Rose and Ed and John and Me (and 3 dogs) had the whole house to ourselves. I do get stressed with that many people around, I like my space and it is very hard to keep it when there are 20 people staying with you

I mean I really get moody to the point where I have to hide in my room or go for a long drive by myself just to relax.

I want to go to the outerbanks!!!! WOW! Great house, great pool, great beach. It looks like you had lots of fun with your family and friends.

Do one of you own the house or do you rent it?

We rent. We would love to own a house down there. Rose and I play the lottery every year dreaming of buying our very own NC/OBX beach front property. We rent a different house every year. Rose has a thing, that always being someplace new is half the fun for her.

Dad (FIL) had issues with my washer while we were gone and instead of paying another $170 to have it looked at he bought us a new one

my thoughts on the MNNSHP is that I could do MK for less than $40, hang with Betsy, Mike and the DGSs for a little bit and still be outta there in time for my trip reporter meet at the Poly.

Hello Tkers

I haven't stopped by here in awhile and wanted to see how you were all doing!

It would be great if Colleen could write one her update poem thingys

As for me, we're back from the world and the girls both got off to school fine. This is Sam's first year of highschool and she told us she wasn't going to be seen with her big sister

You'd think they'd enjoy having each other around eh? Not the case.

My dad had knee replacement surgery before we left on our trip and he's doing very well

He also found himself a girlfriend whom I haven't met yet

I'm still enjoying my job at the retirement home and getting just enough hours to keep me busy but not too busy that I don't have time for anything else.

Anyhow, that's about it. Not much else exciting in my world.

Hiya Threadkillers!

Thank you for the lovely birthday wishes! I'm sorry I've been off-line for several days. I tried to get on-line on Thursday/Friday and I kept getting booted off the internet (my computer - not the DisBoards). I was able to send a PM to Robin, but that's it.

Well Dad has once again managed to injure himself by NOT following what the doctors tell him! He's been on a cane for a year now and takes a very strong blood-thinner...which means no lifting, no sharp objects and the like. Well, he decided that he HAD to help lift his pontoon out of the water and slipped and cut his leg....FORTY-FOUR stitches later he's sore but fine.

Then Saturday - at church - someone we are friends with had what appeared to be a heart attack. They basically stopped services and got a doctor and a nurse to attend him until the ambulance arrived. The good news is he was conscious when the paramedics arrived - no word on how he is after he left church.

Since Saturday was my birthday I spent the day eating fat, calories and carbs. Basically, fast food.....all day! Then today, DH took me to Columbia House restaurant in St. Augustine and we had a lovely, romantic lunch then spent the day walking around the beach town. After that - a nap and plenty-o-football! All-in-all a great birthday!

I did do all the reading and there is too much to catch up on. I did want to wish Robin's mother a Happy Birthday and hope all is well with your dad. Also, DU - I hope things smooth out at work.

If you and Liz and Mike and Betsy and the grandsons are all gonna be there I am definitely gonna go!

This plan just keeps getting better and better...now the plan is,

Fly in thursday, land at 1130, Whispering Canyon Cafe with Betsy's crew for lunch then go check in and hang out at the hotel. We will probably hit DTD our first night.

Friday, Resort day. I wanna relax in their lazy river. By 430 I can get into MK, meet me a couple more TKers and party with the kids. Trip report writers mini meet at the Poly beach by 9pm tho so I won't be staying the whole night.

Saturday, Epcot Food and Wine Festival day! We'll do all the rides we can in FW, I like Test track and Soarin the best. I hope to meet up with whoever is at the park and start hitting the booths for some grub. (Betsy, what time are your ADRs again?) We'll do the countries counter clockwise this time, just opposite of what we did last. 630ish TKer Meet! Beach Club Lobby! I plan to go back into Epcot for Illuminations afterwards, it's my favorite music of the shows.

Sunday, ESPN by 1 to meet Cally and crew for a game and some lunch. We fly home at 845 that night. Do you guys stay for the whole game? We did for an Eagles Giants game one year, 3 full hours later we walked the shops of the boardwalk. I can see Rose and me killing some time shopping there before we heading out.

Not bad for a long weekend, I plan on getting Birthday buttons at MK and Epcot each day. Robin and Ann, you two should get buttons too! Lemme know if I should pick them up for you

Should have been in bed awhile ago....but my Cowboys are playing tonight...gotta make sure they win!!!! Only 2:44 mins left......but they're only up by 10....

Ugh, can't sleep tonight.

Colleen, we arrive at almost the same time as you do, except on the Friday.

Our plan is to try and get into MNSSHP that night, if we can. I plan on heading over there early so that we can hopefully enter the park around 4pm.

We have no concrete plans to meet up with Betsy and her gang while we are there. But I'm hoping that I will be able to call her if we get in and spend some time with her. That is if her gang doesn't mind. (have not discussed this with Betsy at all yet)

I bet the whole experience would be better if we were there with a couple of young'uns.

So, I guess that our attendance that night comes down to whether there are tickets available or not.

Both Liz and I are quite interested in going. It looks like a lot of fun.

I did expect to get a call from you Robin,
and now Ill be expecting a call from Colleen...
I dont think we will be at the MK, in the AM....I think Im going to try for a rest morning...and just hang by the pool ...that way the boys wont be too tired for the party....So Im expecting to go to MK, around 4 PM...
Now Mike isnt one to just sit around...so this plan may not work....We will just have to wait and see....

My basic plan for the week is.....
Arrive in the AM of the 22nd(Sat.) ...check in and head to Epcot....
R&C for dinner..( one of my faves of the world!)..and Illuminations of course...
Sun....
MK, all day..., mass at 6PM..and then back to MK for wishes...
Mon....
AK, in the AM(lunch at FTBBQ) and MGM in the PM(50s for dinner)
Tue...
Epcot, in the AM..( CS lunch), dessert at the CR, ( so the boys can enjoy the tank), and CMs for dinner...early night back to the resort...
Wed....
MGM, all day with CS for lunch, and MM for dinner...
Thur....
MK in the AM, WCC for lunch, and AK in the PM, also hopefully Make it back to MK for the only Spectro we will be able to see.
Fri...
AM rest????, PM MK, and the PARTY!
Sat....
Epcot all day, for the F&W fest, AND Dismeet....with lunch at LeCellier (our ADR is for 1, Colleen)and meeting Ann, Robin, and Liz...and anyone else who is there.. ...Not sure when and where tho...(GUYS?????)
Sun....
start the day with a 7:30 mass.....Then is the boys choice, for the day...
Mon.10/1....
WE go home
Thats it....as long as we followthe plan ...You will be able to find us....or just call ..our phones will always be on.... ....

I am SOOOOOO excited....wish we could just not have to do alll that awful driving.....

Tonight we are going to dinner with DB&DSIL....and then tomorrow we are taking my Dsis out to dinner.....So by the time I get to WDW Ill already be at a high point in my weight....

Why yes! Yes he is!

He doesn't really have any expenses of his own, he lives with us in the summer in NJ and winters with his sister in Melbourne FL in the wintertime. He moved in with us when his wife left. (My MIL is a piece of work, maybe some day I'll tell you about her )
