OMG...that is sooo cute....when Ryan & his friend came down the stairs...Kiwi didn't know what it was...and i had to stop for a minute & remember neithet of them were even born in 89....soooo they really haven't felt much more than a 4.0 +/- which is like nothing....5.6 you can 'feel' it...but doesn't really cause any damage...and it's usually over quick...which it was...so James would be OKAY!!!!!

We have had little earthquakes here before. Not really much that is noticeable even.

Once we were sitting in the livingroom and noticed a plant was shaking

Found out the next day that there had been an earthquake.

Nothing near what you guys have, thank goodness for that

No aftershocks.....so all is well here....

actually i will take the EQ's OVER the midwest tornadoes & storms any day! Especially since EQ's are VERY FEW & FAR between (years can go by)...but Iowa got those storms EVERY year...and then too there's all that snow & ice every winter too....i'm just much too spoiled now...could never go back to those weather extremes...

Sounds like you had 54 seconds of "EARTHQUAKE, IN SENSAROUND". Sorry I always think of that Movie ad when I hear about an earthquake.

How do you know it was 54 seconds? Did you actually time it or was that the news report?

Thought of you last night. I am looking for Strawberries!!!! Have my DDs Sweet 16 party on Saturday and we're having a chocolate fountain, but I need strawberries! Can't find them anywhere. I'll keep checking. Hopefully you folks will ship some to our stores by Friday!

Well, I did it. I bought a new camera

Wound up buying a nikon D40, 2 lenses and a 2gb memory card from amazon. Pricewise I think I saved about $50 on the package by shopping around first.

Key is, I got what I wanted.

Next trick is to make this sucker earn me some green, I got a cruise I'm supposed to go on next new years and need a real income to make that work.

Sounds awesome! Congratulations. You are so lucky because you have the "photographer's eye". DOesn't matter how good a camera I get. I don't have the eye so my pics will be good but not great like yours. My DD who just turned 12 does have the eye. She takes great photos. I am now starting to learn to just give her the camera when I want great pics!

My DH is the same way. But he keeps threatening to by some "soon to be ocean front property in Nevada." He is sure California is going to fall into the ocean!

That paragraph of info i posted was a cut & paste from the US geological site....it's an online thing that runs 24/7/365...and is constantly been reviewed by seismologists....after '89....we (mostly dh) is really into the site when we have a little shaker.....he's such a wimp when it comes to those!!!
