Good Morning All,
Cruisin,
Welcome back!...and Thanks::yes:: (said through a mouth full of cookies)...They were really good!.....Shhhhhh..I wont tell BP..OK?
yes I love the country around here....Now if we could just have better weather in the winter, Id be set...Its ok though, ...If its too cold and snowy out I just stay home by the fire.

BP....Remember when you said you use to do your chores when you were a kid at home?.......Well Ill adopt you....IF you take over my chores...Only in the winter...I dont mine it in the summer......You would have to feed and brush my horses, clean there stalls, Haul water up to the barn every morning and night(had to disconnect my hose for the winter) feed my dogs, take care of my mother, help my DH with any building that needs to be finished(there is ALOT)and entertain DGKs on the weekends....BUT I would cook for you and Im a great cook (if I do say so myself)...What do you say deal?....If you do all that, I could go to WDW in the winter!
Corse Id stock the fridge for you and DH befor I go!:teeth:

I started this reply this AM...Had to stop, because life got in the way...Im back, but have not read any new posts so .....Ill post this , go read and be back:wave2:

Hi everyone!
Boy a busy day for a day that I had nothing planned....

My horse "Dakkar" has a cough that he hasnt been able to get rid of...So I had to call the vet for that and she is sending me some meds for it......I worry alittle bit because he is the one with cancer...but otherwise he looks good...so the meds should do the trick....
Then my girlfriend stopped by(which is nice because she has to work most of the time)and spent the morning visiting,....
Hope you all have had a good day......Its been nice here, lower to mid 50s...Not to shabby for a week befor Thanksgiving...

Ill be doing my major food shopping for Thanksgiving tomorrow.....Then the produce and fresh stuff next Tues. or Wed. I have 18 coming (this is just family) 9 children, 9 adults....Im Glad I have a large kitchen::yes::

PrincessaC,
and was about to hit submit when.....FREEEZZZZZEEE...... ughh.... oh well...
I hate it when that happens!

Cruisin,
It sounds like a nice Birthday dinner,
roast beef, mashed potatoes, gravy, baked beans, fresh baked bread (frozen variety). I have added to the list mashed cauliflower recipe I wanted to try, stuffed mushroom cap recipe I wanted to try, carrots cooked with the roast, and coleslaw
All I can say is YUMMM!:teeth: Will YOU adopt ME?:teeth: Anyway
:bday: To your DS and his DGF......

All this talk of dinner, Im getting hungry. Better go and see what to make for dinner here.

Emeril's cooking turkeys....food channel....take notes!

He's frying one! I do that!!

Hi everyone!

Cruisin - please pass along our birthday wished to you son! I bet you're having a GREAT time!

BrerPapa - it's B-I-G in the South to fry turkeys. However, I'm still too chicken to do it. I just know I'll be the one making news on Thanksgiving day - you know - the lady who burned her house down? It's funny that you said Aunt Bee made you sandwiches. I have "Aunt Bee's Mayberry" cookbook. They make real food on that show.....not just scrambled eggs (everyone on Dallas gathered for b'fast because eggs were cheap!). There are some really good recipes there. The lemonade recipe is the finest in my collection. I cook from cookbooks a LOT!

Kim - glad to hear your BIL is doing well. I'm with BP - continued good wishes for all the worries you have right now. Hope you're feeling better.

DalPal - I love ya gal, but I'm a Florida girl. Break the ice on top of a water bucket? What's the water doing outside to begin with?! I say...........adopt BP and have him bring his RV - convert it to a horsey apartment!

TW - sounds like you're going to have a nice Thanksgiving. I'm the family cook and I started taking Thanksgiving off.........DH takes me out for a steak! Plus it's low-carb!

PC - sorry about your computer, but I'm glad you're back! I hate when that happens!

Where's Wendy & Joan? Hope ya'll can come out and play! Speaking of playing.........I played Bunco tonight. Had a great time. I've not lost any weight in the last month, but everyone says I look skinnier. I think the weight is shifting a bit.....it made me feel SOOOO good! Heck, I even wore makeup!

Take care ya'll. It's beddy-bye time for me. I'm going to craft shops with DD tomorrow!

c-ya!

Ooh, ooh! Smilies for everyone!:D :D :D :D :D

:wave2: I passed along all of the birthday wishes to the birthday children. Thanks everyone. :bounce:

We had a nice dinner. My parents and my mother in law came for dinner. My father in law had a cold so he did not want to come over and infect all of the rest of us.

Then I took Liz to her dance class for 9 and now I am home for the night. Checking out the disboards that I have been neglecting all day because of birthday party preparations ::yes::

What? No SHAZBAT?!?! ;)

My gremlins are still lurking around, too. I already re-started once tonight. Let's hope not again.

Well, after a MILD 100º temp this morning, I headed to work, and within a couple hours, I was feeling 110% better! Gave it my ALL today, and even exercised when I got home! ::yes:: :Pinkbounc Feels good to be normal.....wait, that's not right  .....to not have a fever anymore! Yeah, that's it! :teeth:

BP, I see you were enamored with Robin's roast beef, which is good, because my crew FINISHED that whole chicken casserole, even without me!! :earseek: (Did I hear oink, oink??) ::yes::

Robin, spaghetti tomorrow? How come you didn't get lucky with that easier choice? ;)

:cake: :bday: Alex & Jessica :bday: :cake: :bday: and the cat :bday: :cake: :bday: and M-I-C-K-E-Y M-O-U-S-EEEEEEEE!!!! :bday: :cake:

Yes, Brer_Papa there are plenty of left overs. I sent some stuff home with my mom ...... made a plate for husband's lunch tomorrow..... and still some left !!! I always cook too much.

There is definitely way, way too much cake left over . Anybody want some?????????? Be glad to ship it off somewhere. Maybe I will wrap it up good and put it in the freezer for another time. That might be the best idea!

Cyber-cake :cake: has no calories, carbs, sugar, whatever you don't want, but ALL the glorious TASTE!!!! Pass me a piece, please. ;) And I just KNOW you had yellow cake with chocolate frosting, right?? (humour me, ok?) :p

Ummm, sure......... right.......... that is the kind of cake we had Kim ;) ( how was that for humor???? :p )

(actually, it was white cake with white icing, my son's choice)

Yeah, I don't know why Jessica's mom gets to make spaghetti and I get to stand in the kitchen all day making an elaborate meal. I guess my kid is more spoiled rotten then hers :p

Oh, the u thing just reminded me of something.

When I went to check out of the hotel in Philadelphia, I said to the desk clerk ...... I would like to check out please.

She says to me .......... Can I ask where you are from?

I say .......... Canada

She says ............. I thought so.

I say .......... Really, why did you think so??????

She says .................................... It was the way you said out

She says .................. I am originally from Canada and I could just tell by the way you said it.

Sooooooooooo, I turn to the man next to me and say to him....... do I really say out differently than you do.

He says .............. yes you do, a little.

So , I say ............. well say out for me then.

To which he replies. ...... owwwwt

I say ............. owt, shorter, quicker, basically the same word

:confused3

Do you say it more like oat, or oht? Now I'm confused. Because I say it like owt, but everyone says I have an accent.

White cake, white icing.............I didn't hear that. :sad2:

As long as Jessica continues to spoil Alex like his Mom does, he'll be ok! ;) (and so will she! LOL)

Gonna go take the quiz.....

TW, here are the pictures of my kids I said I would post.

My daughter Liz is on the right and the girl on the other side of Captain Mickey is my niece, Jillian. This was taken last January.

This is my son Alex and his girlfriend Jessica, taken in October at Alex's college graduation. Their birthdates are not in the same year, just on the same date.

Kim, I say out, like owt, (ow like in hurting and a t on the end)

I was Claire Huxtable !!!!!!

Nope, I picked carnations, cause I really don't have good luck with roses. Most of the time they just droop over and that is it :(

Carnations last a lot longer and give much more satisfaction to me anyway.

Carnations are my FAVE, my ONLY choice! So, where did we differ? I forgot the questions already, except the Disney Cruise question, and I KNOW how you answered that!! :boat:

Must have been "good book, plan a vacation, or Thai Chai", right? I doubt that one, too. So, which one?
