:wave2: Wendy, I HEAR that you are back ;)

I am glad that you had such a great trip ::yes:: . I will be looking forward to reading your trip report when you get it done.

:wave2: Dalpal, Hollyann , everybody is being busy this week.

TW, your new avatar looks very nice.

Those kids do have a way of growing up when we aren't looking don't they :D

 Brer_Papa, Kim, how is everything going?

Brer_Papa are you on a sugar high from all of those Peanutbutter cups you collected yesterday.???

Evening everybody! :wave2:

Glad to see so many checking in again....you were missed! ::yes::

I had a slight panic tonight when suddenly ALL my emails disappeared!!! Did I say 'slight' panic?! :earseek: Oh my!!! After a phone call to my ISP, who told me they'd be restored in the next 24 hours, I tried the handy-dandy Gateway Go-Back (came with the 'puter), and it restored everything for me! :cheer2: Whew!

My brother emailed me some cute pics from Halloween, but they won't show up good on the computer screen, I know. They printed out beautifully though, wish I could share. :(

Ann, I hope all your hard work pays off. BP, I hope all your hard work pays off. How's that for diplomatic? ;) I guess the country will know more in 24. ::yes::

Ann, what did your DGS dress up as? We need to know! ::yes::

Well, today I finalized DDs double(?) BD party. She's having a combined party with another girl in her class, born 2 weeks before her. We did this last year also. They're going to invite all the girls in the class (10 total) to a bumper bowling party!!! Sounds like fun, ya think they'll let me bowl? It's not until 12/7, so I have time to convince the girls I'm pretty good! :p I'm in charge of the goody bags, or in this case, COLASSAL goody bags!!! I have such a stash of stuff, it's over the top, I admit. :o Also, I volunteered to make cupcakes, rather than buy a cake. It's simple, and I'll be making cupcakes that week anyway for DD to take to class on 12/8. What's a dozen more? ;)

Parent-Teacher conference is Thursday. I can't wait.

BTW, what exchanges have you all signed up for, if any? So far, I'm in the Disney only C'mas exchange, and the YC C'mas exchange. Such fun!!

'Til later!

Well Good Morning !
Did everyone get out and vote....... I hope the right one wins!:teeth:
Hollyann, you and BP are going to be busy today I know....If not for nice, dedicated people like you guys this world would go down the tubes....Thank you!
We got the trailer down to the chassie. I dont know what we will do with that, but everything else is gone::yes::
I cant believe how nice it has been here....yesterday was alittle chilly but it turned out to be a nice day....and hey Im use to snow by the end of Oct.

Cruisin,
I have told her that the cardboard box the new fridge comes in will probably be her future home
I made a fridge box into a little house when I was a kid.. I had it for a few weeks and loved it,,,Then My mom got tired of having to go around it everytime she came into my room...Oh well... Thank you for the good memory! It looks like we will be shopping for a new dishwasher....Ours is getting so loud we had a hard time hearing the tv last night and if you knew how loud my DH has the tv you would know that it was all way too loud in this house last
night:crazy:

Well My DGKs were very cute for halloween, I had three princesses, a wild cat, an Indian, a lumberjack and a vampier... The younger boys were saints...( I guess that is the only time there mother can call them that and be truthful:teeth:)) and that is just family....I live down a dirt road with only two other houses, ... So we dont get anyone, but my DGKs!It was fun!...I made cupcakes and cookies and made up bags of candy for each... and the best part is its all gone! ::yes::
Well its chore time again......
Have a good day everyone!
Hey BP I tried to vote for you pirate: but they didnt have you on the ticket???????
Whats up with that??????
So I had to vote for the only other guy that should win! I hope he does!!! :sunny:
Betsy

:wave2: Kim, the girls will let you bowl with them won't they??? I don't see why they wouldn't. Sounds like you will have a fun time. What kinds of things are you putting into the goodie bags??

Good luck with the parent teacher meeting. I hope that you can get some forward movement going for your daughter.

I just received my Halloween exchange in the mail a few mintues ago. A little late but better than never. I can use some of it for next year. I am signed up for the Christmas Card exchange being run by Nutsy. I am also STILL waiting for my Z parcel which should have been here in September. I looked at the Disney Christmas one but have not signed up for it yet.

 Betsy

Sounds like you are still busy. I have been running, running all day so far.

We had 37 trick or treaters this year and 6 bags that I made up for my son's girlfriends brothers and sister.

I gave out glow stick bracelets along with my treat bags. Wow did they ever go over well. The kids thought those were just the greatest, and I heard lots of comments from the parents about how they were a good idea.

Anybody want to get a Christmas Card from me??? I don't usually send out many but since I signed up for the exchange I will be sending out a bunch. So if you are interested just PM me with a name and an address and I will be glad to include you on my list.

It is a rainy, dreary day here today. Not really cold though. Hope everyone else is having a :sunny: day!!

Good morning everyone! Thought I would just check in to see what I've missed and surprised how quiet it's been. At least I don't feel so guilty now! ;)
It's a typical fall day here but chillier than it has been. I think tomorrow the high is supposed to be 51!
BP...hope ya' kicked some football butt this weekend! I won so I'm climbing back up in the ranks.
Take care everyone! :wave2:

I am delurking to say that I am the thread killer. The last two threads I've started have had 2 and 1 responses respectively.

Voted yesterday and had to wait in line for 1 1/2 hours, but everyone in the line was cordial. Well, I'll go crawl under my rock, and I've enjoyed reading this thread from time to time.:D

You'll not kill this Thread!

I thought I was THE thread killer
and this one has grown 35 pages since I "delurked" myself.

Welcome!

I went to vote last night around 7 pm and walked in to no line.
The line was the only part of voting I dreaded,
and there was none. :teeth:

It's very chilly and windy here today, but the leaves are beautiful!

Good Morning TKers!

:wave2:

 Good afternoon everyone!!!

Welcome orvilleair, nice to have you come out of lurkerdom and join us. Please come back out again and visit us soon!!!

My new fridge is coming this afternoon, finally. It gets old real fast running out to the garage everytime you need something. ::yes::

Hope everyone has a great day! :sunny: <~~~ just not :sunny: here :D

HELLO THREAD-KILLERS & LURKERS ALIKE!!

AYUP! I am back!

Volunteer work is done...the democratic process has taken place.... nuff said!

So......it's been awful quiet since the BINGO game....you all have been practicing, haven't you??

daub daub daub

WELL!! Good luck! Bingo's over!!

Hi LuckyMommyx2!

Oh yeah...i did real good! But this week...in my one fantasy league...I am hurtin' for certain because of the "bye"....but..i picked up a few new players...it'lll be OK...

and...i reeked aain in the Pick 'Em....

how about you? all set?

I was a poll watcher last night....i had to be there 15 minutes before the polls closed...and it took a half hour....and...

guess what?

I GOT BORED!

there wasn't much around to juggle....so...i juggled my shoes and my pen...

I was thinking about my unmentionables instead of my pen.......BUT...the election people were already giving me funny looks...

they kept on checking my certificate to make sure I belonged there....

silly gooses....

Hi DalPal!!

well now...you should have used a "write-in" vote....

"Brer_Papa" on a write in for President would have gotten you the same funny looks I got after the polls closed....

You made "Cupcakes, cookies and a bag of candy" for each?

I didn't get any "cupcakes, cookies and a bag of candy...

did anybody besides me get passed over on the cupcakes, cookies and a bag of candy?

heck...i wouldn't even juggle a cupcake, cookies and a bag of candy....

my motto was, is and always will be: Don't juggle FREE FOOD!!

btw...that was a reasonable post in length..

BRAVO!!

Always good to see you!!

Hello TiggerWannaBe!! :wave2:

Glad to hear you voted...and that it went smooth....

Let me ask you something....

(you know how shy I am..... )

When the day comes...that I venture out and "delurk"....

Does delurking hurt?

is it like jumping off a cliff?

You know...you take the first step and can't step back?

Just in case I get over my shyness and delurk ....and find out I don't like it...

i would like to know how to escape back to Lurker-ville.....

Thank you in advance!

Hi, Hello & Howdy KIM!!

I haven't signed on to any exchanges yet....been meaning to...I have no excuse...

Thanks for the kind words about me volunteering.....I was glad to do it...

Something I believe in....

besides...Santa gave me such a big hug for being a good boy and volunteering...
that I leave a soot imprint wherever i sit down!

Hey OrvilleAir! :wave2:

Happy to see you stop by!

WELCOME!!!

Stop by often!

Hello HollyAnn! :cool1:

( I think OZZIE used Brylcreem in his hair....)

HEY! I hope to "see" you here soon...want to say that you did a fine job volunteering....

in fact....Santa gave me a peppermint candy cane to give you....but....

I ate it!

Otherwise...i would have juggled the candy cane last night instead of my pen...

but...my motto says no juggling free food...so..i HAD to eat it....

it's like a law or something....

:) :) :) :)

Ahoy Cruisin' ! :boat:

I know...I know....

'bout time I hauled my carcass back here.... :rotfl:

uh huh....ayup...::yes::

This thread got so quiet....I thought I was going to have to resuscitate it....

We need to make a pact....all of us...

yes...you too Lurkers...and yes...you there...the Lady with the curlers in her hair...

no more being THAT quiet again until the next elections in 4 years....

who's with me?

PSSSST! Hey Lurkers!

I saw the

:space:

hovering above me last night and the night before....

you guys get any video of me?

:teeth:  Brer_Papa, nice to see you back again ::yes::

wow, you better watch out or the long post police are gunna getcha

Maybe this place will liven up a bit soon. I sometimes feel like I am playing here all alone :sad1:

Long post police....signature police....

This place has more cops than a "Blues Brothers" movie.....

Hi everyone!

Whew! It's over and I was T-I-R-E-D! I stayed up until 6am watching the returns. Plus, on election day, I was up before six am. Like you, BP my DH was a poll watcher/campaign rep so he was there when the polls opened and back again til after they closed and the votes were moved.

On a personal note.....BrerPapa - you did good, too..... volunteering, standing up and believing in the candidate of your choice, no matter - is a very patriotic thing to do. I admire you, very much.

I was at campaign HQ with the get out the vote phone effort, then I went to the front desk to answer questions, organize rides, assign wavers and all the other fun craziness! We went to the usual after hours party and I left around 10 pm...before they called Florida. But, DH and I both had headaches and needed to chug some aspirin. Felt better after that!

Enough politics............I wanna talk threadkillers! Starting another reply! Back soon!

Howdy-doo Threadkillers!
Orvillair - So glad you decided to "un-lurk" and join us! We're a nice bunch.....good luck trying to kill this thread - I've tried a bunch of times! Hope you come back and join us again!

Cruisin - Missed you girl! I hope to catch up on my sleep more tonight, so if I'm babble........sorry! DH and I are leaving on Friday to go to PA (the state) to see his sister....so we'll be off-line for a week or so. Can you hold down the fort? I joined the card exchange. A PM is on the way for the address! Thanks for asking!

BrerPapa - can we have another story? Thanksgiving is coming up, does Santa have any say regarding that holiday? Is the turkey dinner in November a trial run for Christmas dinner? I need to know these things. That's my thanksgiving dinner theory! Many thanks for the peppermint candy-cane. I love them. Since they have sugar in them, it's a good thing you decided to indulge as I cannot. I'd have enjoyed your juggling, though!

Kim......How ya doin'? How's the exercising going? DH and I are ready to start back up tomorrow. I've lost weight this last week, or at least I think I did. The volunteer offices were stocked full with donuts, candy & cookies, so I ate less and less every day. When they brought in deli trays, I ate the meats & cheeses but little else. It's nice to have real food today!

Luckymommy - good luck with this weekend. I'm just glad the Steelers won last week. Other than that - I know nothing! You said your DH was in the military, right? May I ask - what branch? My DH did 35 years in the Navy (the old salt!).

DalPal - glad your view is getting cleaned up! It's always nice to get those major decorating challenges done (believe me, improving your yard view IS decorating!). I imagine the fall weather is beautiful where you're at right now and you're having a grand time in your "new" yard!

TW - first off.....thanks for the shortening - I didn't realize you were talking about me when I saw "HA" until you mentioned naps! Everyone seems to notice my naps! Glad you're keeping up with us....we can be chatty!

Mammuduck - I'm SO glad you enjoyed the castle! It's beautiful and I'm ready to go back! As soon as we can get though the year (which, this is the fun time - so I'm in no hurry) I think we'll be there. Except Epcot - but what the hey - WDW anywhere is great! Welcome back!

Anyone heard from MMF & zen? Shall we start an elopement rumor? I hope Kevin got his computer fixed. I'm starting to worry! We want Mammajoan back, too! Believe me, while I'm gone, we're gonna need some help reining in BP and his juggling tendencies!

Well, I think I've chatted on LONG enough! I'm sorry it's a lot to read.....I missed ya'll!

ETA: DARN these typo's!

Hollyann I will try to keep everything and everybody under control while you are gone. It won't be an easy job but somebody has to try and do it ::yes::

You're it! I think you make an excellent Mrs. Doubtfire!

;) I have missed you too ::yes::

I hope that you find everything going well in PA.

You will get your "taste" of fall weather this way.

What do you do with Holly when you go? Do you take her with you?

Ordinarily we take her with us, but we wanted to leave her with my folks this time. However, Dad is having surgery on the 9th. His is elective surgery, but I do worry because of his age.....

So, Hollydog will be going with us. She's a great little traveler. However, I don't think she'll get to camp as we'd hoped this month. Anyway, we'll probably be staying in one of my DBIL's houses.....he buys them, fixes them & rents them. There's always a place to stay when you visit!

The weather should be nice up in Pa. BP, how's the weather up there? We're still in shorts - it was 85 today. So, anything under 70 is C-O-L-D to me! I've got turtlenecks for the winters here and some sweaters.....it'll work.

You should have seen Holly the first time she saw snow. She didn't understand what it was! She shook cause she was so cold. When she saw yellow snow (her own creation) she barked at it - cause she could see it! TOO funny!

Anyway, she's no trouble when we travel. We'll drive straight there.....it's only 17 hours.

I think that you had better be prepared to be cold Ann ;)

17 hours, well it only takes 18 hours to drive from my house to WDW. Of course that is going in a different direction than what you will be taking. So if 17 hours is no problem then you can just drive on up and visit us some day ::yes::

Yellow snow  , poor Holly!!!!!

I'm almost afraid to ask, but I will anyway........Why on earth does your BUTT have soot on it?!?!!? :earseek: I'm already sorry I asked. :p

WELCOME orvilleair!!! Come back again real soon, ok? :teeth: Sorry to hear you were one of those waiting in line yesterday....such a shame isn't it? :(

tiggerwb, glad that you had no line. I didn't wait either, only problem was, I walked in and gave them my wrong address!! I don't know WHAT I was thinking.

Robin, how's the new fridge? :sunny:

Big thanks to Ann & BP! Without people like YOU, people like US would have a hard time voting, etc. (you know all that you do!) ;) THANKS!

Ann, continued prayers for your SIL and all her family. Exercising? Well, it's 11/3, and I've exercised 2 days. I couldn't today because DD had a BD party to go to during my exercise time. Glad to hear you stayed on track, and are getting back to your walking. :sunny:

Tomorrow I have the official parent-teacher meeting, which should be status quo annoying, but I did have an unscheduled meeting today with the special ed teacher (at her request), and I felt soooo good after talking with her! She's been reading with Kelly, one on one, and will continue to do so on a regular basis. :teacher: She will also ask the principal if Kelly can go into the 2nd grade class for reading. She encouraged me to keep doing whatever I want to and can do at home, and she suggested testing Kelly also. She's going to start the ball rolling with that, too. :cool1: It will cost $550 to do it through the Lutheran ministries, which is a lot, but when I checked for private testing, that costs $1,500-$2,000!!! :earseek: so, $550 sounds cheap (except to my husband). She said that if Kelly is tested, they may find some weakness, and they can work on that, besides find out what level she is on with everything else, and help to challenge her. Regular, yearly testing doesn't start until 3rd grade, and that's a LONG time to have to wait to help my DD, so the sooner the better, imo! Near the end of our meeting, she gave me a big {HUG}, and told me she knows how hard this has been. She's our Blessing, I just know it! And, hate to sound sappy or anything, but I prayed last week to my MIL for any help she could send down for Kelly, and I about cried today when my prayer was answered. Yes, I know that new angel's name. ::yes::

Enough! I'm turning into a blubbering idiot over here. :o

Ann, have a safe trip! You will be missed!!! :(
