Hallmark...eat your heart out!

Thanks Mr Cutie Patootie for the Get well Card. I am feeling better much better now thanks.

Just got back from dinner at my inlaws (Who we avoid as much as possible due to previous problems.)

While there we were talking about us getting a new fridge. Well when the inlaws moved into their smaller house they got all new appliances. I said to MIL, that was nice to start over with all new appliances, to which she replied ............... no, I didn't want to have new appliances, I wanted to bring my "old friends" with me   Then she said that FIL wanted to buy her new pots and pans but she could not part with her "old friends". I about bust a gut laughing ........... hmmmm appliances as her friends, I hope that I am NEVER that hard up for friends  She gets soooo attached to things it is not even funny. I shouldn't laugh because the woman is mentally unstable but still ...........:p

TW - no tampon angels for my tree this year :)

Hi Ann, I am not that fond of ice cream. So I wouldn't look forward to having to eat it all at once.

Is there some cosmic joke that I don't get? I thought everyone liked ice cream!

Nah, just kidding, Cruisin. Me, I LOVE ice-cream. If it wasn't for these dog-gonned restrictions I have, it'd be my b'fast, lunch & dinner!

I have some pots & pans I wouldn't part with, either. But I'd take the newer models if someone offered to buy them for me. I have the Calphalon professional/commercial grade pans back when they were almost impossible to find anywhere. Paid a TON for them 20 years ago!

What'd you have for dinner?

Ahoy Cruisin' ! :boat:

Glad you're feeling better....

you must have tried that prune elixir recipe I PM-ed you.....

I have a couple appliances ...pots pans...that I use a lot...but I'm not attached to them....

I checked out the tampon angel....

I gotta admit...it made me laugh...

As much as I like Angels and Angel ornaments....i don't think you'll see one of those on my tree...

Hello HollyAnn! :cool1:

( Can you picture Harriet making Angel ornaments..Ole OZ asking what ya doin'?
Harriet answering ~~> "blowing up some tampons..." )

My eyes are fine...now...

I squinted through supper....and afterwards....I was going to put cucumber slces on them...but I had a salad instead....

I remember the popcorn in the paper sack....it was always good....

I also remember going to a drive in on a date...in a Nash Rambler.....

the seats folded down....imagine that....

My comb is still like new.....

We went out with WishingStar and her family tonight...to a Hallowen fest at the Zoo...we had a fun time...a wonderful time....

we rode the train too...it was awesome....

You ever notice how fast the time flies when you're having fun?

PSST! Hey Lurkers!

everybody going out trick or treaing in a Disney costume....go on <~~~ side of the room....

everybody else ~~~~> side of the room...

you there....yes..you...the Lady with the curlers in her hair...

a robe and bunny slippers is NOT Wendy from Peter Pan...go over ~~~> there....

Stepped outside to see the lunar eclipse....the sky is clear....the eclipse is a sight to behold.....

awesome.....

You inspired me to step outside and look at the moon, BP! Thank you! Well, our moon is orange and it currently going behind a small cloud.

I tried to find the angel ornament thread - what's the title? Is it on the CB? When I punched in "tampon angel ornament" in the search engine - all I got was the Threadkillers thread!!!

I think the title is "ladies, have you seen this tampon angel" ....posted by Tiggeroo......

I keep stepping out....the eclipse is beautiful....

called WishingStar...she's making sure the kids see it.....

First off..........with deepest regards and humble gratitude I must thank Cruisin ONCE AGAIN for causing Diet Coke to go up my nose!

I finally was able to check the tampon angel - many thanks for the help finding it, BrerPapa - you're partially to blame for the diet coke/nose incident!

Now I must say - I don't get grossed out often (we actually discussed this at campaign headquarters yesterday), but that THING on MY TREE would be my un-doing!

I'm afraid I would have to poke myself in the EYE with a SHARP STICK just to avoid looking at it!

Here's my question (I actually have more of these than theories).....what "inspired" this person to think............"Ya know, I could make ornaments out of this!"

Cruisin, I most humbly apologize for the ice-cream remark.....the angel ornament is the cosmic joke - one that I just don't get!

And I thought I'd seen everything!.............

What did we have for dinner?

Gramma soup (that's what Liz always calls it, cause Gramma makes homemade soup all of the time and Liz is the soup monster.) It tasted a little saltier than usual though this time.
shake'n bake, porkchops (I think)
dry potatoes (They like to drain the water out of the cooked potatoes and let this sit for awhile and "dry" out. She suggested that I do that once here at my house and I told her we preferred our potatoes not to be so dry!)
salad which was good
buns/butter
caulifower/broccoli mixture (probably frozen cause she cooks them until then are mush, I don't mind them so much when they are mush but I prefer them from fresh vegetables)
gravy
and carrot cake for dessert which was yummy!!!

Glad I could help, just call me anytime :teeth:

BP, I didn't get that PM you mentioned ;) but I do like prunes. With the way my stomach was feeling this morning I don't think I would have needed any prune elixir. Fortunately, THAT never actually came to be a problem ;) I know TOO MUCH INFORMATION

Yup, I saw the moon on the way home from Liz's dance class. Very cool to see.

Hollyann, if I NEVER had icecream again, I don't think I would miss it

 dalton!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No? I wonder whoI sent it to...and what they're thinking...

prune elixir....10 to 20 prunes...half a glass of water...chew sip...chew sip....chew sip...chew sip.....chew sip....chew sip...chew sip....chew sip...RUN!!

Hi Dalt01!

Welcome.....stay and visit awhile....

Thanks for the recipe Brer_Papa!!! I will keep it in the file with the rest of my recipes ::yes:: ;)

Hellllllloooooo Everybodeeeeee!!! :wave2: Where DO my nights go?! So much going on here.

DS is coughing his head off upstairs, so I just gave him some NyQuil liquigels. I hope it helps. :(

Backtracking...........Oh My!.............Ann, I'm with Robin on the ice cream. Once in a GREAT while, I'll get a taste for some ice cream, I'll have some, and the rest gets freezer burn, I swear. Not high on my list.

Robin, speaking of freezers, I hope you get a nice, new, purty frig! They have added quite a few new gadgets on them since that 20yo one you had was made. ;)

BP, RUN??? hahaha I will take a tip from the CB resident expert on eating and bathrooms, and say, eat the prunes on the pot! :p You're card was lovely, btw. All that jumping on an upset tummy would make me worse, tho! (I couldn't think how to spell queasy, so I looked it up...too late now)

Appliances and pots & pans as 'friends'?? Eek. I just threw out all my 20yo pots & pans, when I got brand-spanking-new ones, and I was HAPPY to see them go!!! :teeth:

Well, I didn't nearly catch up like I wanted, but at least I posted. ;)

Ahhhh, much quieter upstairs now, too. ::yes::

 Kim

I hope the medicine helps and you have a quiet house for the night!!

Good morning everyone!!! I'm baaaccckkkkk! I actually got back Tuesday late afternoon but I ran directly from the airport to the vet's to pick up my fur babies. I really missed them and the seemed to have missed me. Yesterday was filled with activities trying to get me back into reality again, aka laundry, dishes and playing Cinderella scrubbing floors.
I'm sorry to report the lingerie juggling only worked for a few minutes on the flight back. Everyone got a little nervous when the plane did some moves we thought planes were incapable of doing!! :faint: :scared: It must be something with the air and water in the Cheasapeake Bay area. The last trip was pretty bad as well. Oh well, I have another year to prepare until the next flight~~unless we get inspired for another spur of the moment trip.
I have lots of reading to catch up on here. Forgive me but it probably won't happen until the weekend. I'm back in full soccer-mom duties too!
Just wanted to pop in and say HI before venturing to any other threads. Have a wonderful day!!! :sunny:

Luckymommyx2,
WELCOME BACK! Hope you had a good time and everything was as expected.
Well I saw the eclipes was beautiful and I have to thank my DH, because I fell alsleep after LOST and he woke me up a couple of times to see its progress. If not for him I would have missed it completely. I couldnt get pictures of it though, because it was not enough light for my camera. It kept telling me to take off the lens cap!.....It was off.
SEVEN sisters????? BP!....In what order are you in your family? Man I almost feel sorry for you....I bet you had a hard time using the phone............AND the BATHROOM.......Maybe thats why god made men so it was easy for them to go outside!
I always envied you guys that little perk......Mostly when Im trail riding..... :teeth:
Prunes.......tampons..........Theses conversations are going in the toilet::yes::
I like Ice cream.....I cant say I Love it ....but I wouldnt have trouble fininshing it off...if My freezer went......BUT..... I would have to trash my scale........................But thats ok ...I HATE that scale anyway!

Good Morning All!

~Here are my photos as promised~

~My Mickey antenna topper by full moon lightt~

These are a little fuzzy, my camera will take the picture but doesn't know how to focus on things so far away...

~The Full Moon before the Eclipse~
105FMBnW.jpg

I liked these better in black-n-white

~My best try of photographing the eclipse~
105FMEclipse.jpg

Our area was very cloudy last night I missed the orange effect because of the clouds.

 No repairs yet HA-The dealership still has my vehicle, the seat has a recall but it doesn't cover the handle that broke, go figure! ;) As soon as I read about your calphalon, cooking.com sent me an email-guess what?! Calphalon's on Sale!

and Dalpal: I actually had the honor to take "the pepsi challenge," many years ago while visiting Hamilton, Ontario. I chose Pepsi, and still do. Coke is too dry and bubbly for me, I like the the sweetness of my pepsi.:teeth:

I vote for PEPSI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :bounce: Coke is gross, too sickly sweet ::yes::

:wave2: Luckymommy, glad to hear that you are back safely. I am interested in hearing what you did and how you liked it.

 TW do you live somewhere close to Hamilton, or were you just passing through???? I live about 2 hours away from Hamilton.

Nice pictures, TW!!

:sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

Yes, Luckymommy, your turn to tell us a story....

Cruisin: I'm a lifelong resident of NJ.
I belonged to DCI-Drum Corps International-in my younger days. The Class A championships were in Montreal 2 years in a row (1981/1982)-we were in Hamilton for the preliminary competition. I love the area, so beautiful and clean, great people. It's a great place to visit...but way too cold for me. lol.

Thank you for the compliment,
I'm so anal about my photos-I think they're too blurry...
I recently switched from manual SLR cameras to digital & am still learning how to use it in different mediums. I hear my next eclipse opp will be in March 2007.

Cool pic TW!...
I wish I were better at taking pictures....My digital Is going on the fritz..:( .... So maybe Ill get a new one for christmas....:wave2: ::yes:: The one I have doesnt have a very good zoom and ..now they are alot smaller....I like that idea...but I would think it would be harder to hold still and take a clear picture.
NJ ...I use to live in NJ when I was in elem.school......Westfield...
It was a LONG time ago....:rolleyes1
I vote for PEPSI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Coke is gross, too sickly sweet
Thats funny I have always thought of pepsi as being the sweet one...... I really dont dislike pepsi..I just like coke better.......Coke with a squeeze of lemon...:drinking1

Hollyann,
:
Here's my question (I actually have more of these than theories).....what "inspired" this person to think............"Ya know, I could make ornaments out of this!"
Was this person.....Monica Lewinski????? She tends to get "things and there uses mixed up"::yes::

Well I had a very good lunch with my DH and some of my family...(let see if I can do this the DIS way) My DM,.DS and her DH and My other DS and ofcourse one of my DGSs. (I take one of the two oldest every Thurs...They take turns.)....Howd I do?
We go to this nice Italian restruant every Thurs........been doing it for about 14 years.
And tomorrow is a trip to the pumpkin farm with all my DGSs.....Ill have to bring the Video camera for that! Hope its nice tomorrow... It was really nice here today almost 60.. Thats pretty good for around here at the end of Oct,
