Weather's still pretty much the same. I have about 5 minutes left on a mushy, cutsie-wootsie movie and I'm going to sleep. We probably won't see any significant rainfall until around 9-11am.

Good Morning Threadkillers & Lurkers

Weather Report: The rain started right on time - 9am! It's slowly intensifying. We're supposed to have Strong Thunderstorms with the possibility of tornadoes by 1pm and around midnight, the wind will start picking up and be around 40-50mph (sustained) with gusts up to who knows how high!

Darling, darling, DARLING hubby called me this mroning at 9am to wake me up. He was worried. He is too wonderful for mere words.....I must post a smilie here! Anyway, he just wanted to make sure that everything was okay.

With the very real possibilities of tornadoes, I'm going to make our laundry room comfy today. We have a futon and I'll bring a pillow, sheets, some food, radio, lights and (of course) the doggy bed. The worst of the storm will be here during the night, so I want to make sure it's okay incase I have to make a mad dash.

Other than that I told him about the wonderful time I had with the night owl threadkillers and that I found my smilies. He said, "I'm glad you had a good time with the Threadkillers, sounds really great. Tell them Hi for me". I told him about the smilies and he said, "oh".

Well, ya'll take care. I want to take a shower before the lightening starts. I'll keep you posted when I can. Happy day everyone. My plans is to have a safe, cozy day for me and the rest of Florida - then later this week, for everyone on the East Coast. No destroyed homes is my nationwide goal!

In another thread it says they are closing the Disney Parks at 1 this afternoon. But I suppose if it is raining hard enough there probably won't be many people out even now.

Hi everyone! Well, we're upgraded to a Hurricane Warning. Gov. Bush got on the TV and said if you're in a mandatory evacuation area (SW Fl, not Jax) to get out NOW....that was their last warning. Unfortunately, Jacksonville received Tropical Storm Bonnie and we have flooding in Jacksonville and a state of emergency in Baker County nearby - Hurricane Charley hasn't even hit and we're experiencing floods. Fortunately, my home is on slightly higher ground. We're in a zone that does not require flood insurance - hope I don't need it now!

Charley is turning out to be a dangerous storm because it isn't going to bump along the coast like most hurricanes, it's ripping across the state - the long way! I hope they don't have evacuatios, I'm prepared to stay, but if they ask us to - I'm gone! I'll head up somewhere and visit my friends. Maybe I'll drive to California and be with hubby and the kids. Who knows.....if I have to get out of here - the world is my oyster!

Ya'll take care and I'll keep you posted. Oh! Did you hear Julia Child died? I really liked her. What a pioneer!

CM DS confirms the pars are closing at 1...he says the plans now are to reopen as usual tomorrow...

the "hurricane team" is all set there...for today and before the Park reopens...

that would be an interesting job i think...
