anyway...how have you'se been?

I haven't been on much more than to make my weekly Nascar picks....at which i suck btw....but it is fun....

as for me...the horse-puckeys been hittin' the fan and I've been avoiding the splatter.....

the not so good news....

Princess Ariel's Dad has been very very sick.....in the ICU unit....for almost a week.....it's been touch and go.....today was not a good day at all....

he's a good man....and tough! I wish him the best...

we've been worrying as much about DW's Mom too....all this is taking a toll on her...they've been married 58 years..bless them...

Wishing Star's youngest DD....2 year old...Sammy....for Samantha....has pneumonia....has een having a high fever...103...104...and allergic reaction to the meds....

Sammy did put a smile on my kisser....she told her Mom..."Papa come see Sammy"....

well.....don't let anyone say she has me wrapped around her little finger....no speed laws were broken...so there!!

Youngest DS-o-mine..the CM in Florida calls Sunday to see how his Grandpa was...i give him the update...

then he tells me his NEW car broke down on I4 last wednesday...he calls a tow truck...80 bucks....it s towed to a pontiac dealership..they say it's fixed with a new battery...under warranty...and off he goes...

this past Tuesday...he calls me at midnight...his car broke down again!...it did the same thing...

i told him i'd come get him...but he'd probably be home before I got there....

anyway...he left the car on I 4...said they could tow him for free in the morning...so we talked 45 minutes while "we walked him home'...

ah well...life....the good and the bad...you know the old saying....

OK!...next post will be on the lighter and fluffier side...i think.....

I am so sorry to hear about all of the trouble you have been having in your family.

I hope that tomorrow will be a better day for you and yours.

It's been very, very quiet here on the Thread-Killer thread, lately.

I was thinking I might just succeed in finally killing the thing.

if you guessed Brer_Papa.....you would be correct....

it is a bit different than what i am used to....guitars and banjoes have these frets...a fiddle doesn't....so...
it's not going too well....

yet.....

I tuned it as I would a 4 string banjo...got the bow in place...and started sawing away....

i was coming close to the right notes....sometimes...

maybe....

anyway...i look up....expecting to see the usual Princess Ariel shaking of the head from side to side....

instead she's raising her eyebrows at me and bugging her eyes out....over and over....

at first i thought she needed me to pop a heimlich maneuver on her....but she was running around the table too fast to be choking on something....

so i quit chasing her and started sawing on the fidldle...hitting a note or three dead on....

i think.....

but when i look at her to see if she agreed....there she is....bugging her eyes and raising her eyebrows at me again....

hmmmm thinks i....she doesn't like fiddle music maybe...so i take it outside...

my neigbors started running for cover before i got through the first scale...

I haven't seen them run that fast since i was outside trying to juggle wooden croquet balls...got a splinter and dropped one on my toe...which ballooned up like an air bubble on an innertube...

well...for the next 2 1/2 hours i had the neighborhood to myself...i practiced good....worked up a good sweat...

anyway....get this...

I go back inside...put the fiddle away...and go to my roll top desk...

apparently...someone is playing a mystery game...

on my roll top was my dictionary....some pages are paper clipped....on the clipped pages are words highlighted in yellow...

words like "choke"..."decapitation"...."guillotine"..."strangulation"..."suffocation"....
and others...

i don't know who put it there....nor have i solved this riddle...but i am working on it....

NO HELP PLEASE!

maybe it has somethingto do with the Haunted Mansion....hmmmmmm

aaaargh..i have too much on my mind!

i think i'll go grab the fiddle for a bit and let my mind rest....

You are lucky the neighbours didn't call the Animal Welfare people on you while you were practicing....they probably thought some poor animal was being injured

I was leafing through this thread....catching up on what I've missed....i see you had a nice visit with the Cousins...very cool!

Montessori's 26th Anniversary went well...

Kim should be glad Prior is back on the mound....he is one heck-uv-a-pitcher...

we've had some new visitors on the thread...they are always welcome...

I haven't heard too much on how Stepharooinie's new job has been going....well i hope!

aaaah...my neighbors....i snowblow the whole block...i can get away with anything...even in June...

you know...in all the hub-bub going on....it is so nice to visit the DIS...AND this thread...to relax...have some fun....it's just what the doctor ordered....

aaaah...BTW...i got Grandkid duty last weekend...so...i took them to a little hamlet called Albion...to an all MOPAR show...we had a GREAT time..even though the ittle traitors...ooops...i mean...little angels....went on and on about roadrunners and super-birds...and Billy the 4th getting excited at every purple car....i had to give them a hearty dose of Corvette-itis....and lunch...

then...we went"frog-gigging" ....there are over 30 out now...

OK! back to leafing....
