Well, I just PM'd Cruisin. We decided that' it's TOO quiet on the threadkillers thread tonight.

So.......come out, come out, wherever you are! Lurkers - we'd love to hear from ya'll, too!

Where is everyone? Did I finally kill this thread?

HEY, WHERE IS EVERYBODY!!!!

There Hollyann, do you think that will wake everybody up!!

I most definately think it will wake them up. I just can't imagine where they're hiding. Maybe we're in BrerPapa's dream and it really IS the twilight zone!

That Brer_Papa is a big tease!!!! He starts a story about Santa AND the Magic Kingdom and then he runs away and doesn't finish it

Maybe the :space: go them all!!!!!

HEY!! KEEP IT DOWN IN HERE!!! ;)

You 2 were thinking EXACTLY what I was! PrincessaC you go right ahead and brag!!!! You have every right, besides, it feels good!! ;) I only wish I could say DDs school was doing something like those things for my DD. :( Just this morning, I got infuriated all over again. I found out the rest of the school has started the Book It program. DDs class has not, and only after I asked, did the teacher say she'd start next month! I was (and am) furious. I don't see myself waiting until 11/4 to talk with the principal.

Joan, I am so sorry about Cam. I'm glad it's not broken tho. Matt broke his elbow on his first full day of 2nd grade, in a new school. They thought his crying was due to anxiety about starting a new school, which it wasn't. I hope she's feeling better soon. And yes Joan, ya know I love my Costco! Gotta get there soon actually. ;)

Robin, nice set of wheels. :smooth:

Ann, you take it easy this next week, ok?

PC, have a great trip, think of us often, and WRITE BACK!!! ;)

Now, where's BP?

Nice try disneycrazed139, but if you really want to kill a thread, this is NOT the place to do it!

We're a :chat: bunch of DISers who love new additions, so join in, introduce yourself, have a chat. ;)

Wow, Kim, I think I still hear an echo in here :p

 disneycrazed139

For anybody who is interest Wendy-MaMudduck has checked in over on the Canadian board. If you want to say hello, head on over there and look her thread up!!!:sunny:

It's about time you checked back in, Robin. I mean, ya wake the neighborhood, and then you DISappEAR. ;) :p

Sorry, Kim.

I had to go and get my daughter at her boyfriends and that is a one hour round trip and to top it off it was getting quite foggy out there. He lives in the next town so I have to go through the country to get there and back. ::yes::

But I came Back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :teeth:

Nice to know someone missed me!

Always! ;) ;)

Is DDs boyfriend not old enough to drive her himself? What about HIS parents? You always seem to be the one driving. Not fair, huh? Better that she's safe though, right? ;)

Yes he is old enough to drive (he is 19) but no he does not have his licence.

What about HIS parents is a good question???? I don't think they do anything for him, especially not drive him to the next town over. Sometimes he gets a ride to town with a friend.

Is it fair that I have to drive her there and back or pick him up and drive him here and back ...... no not really. But I would rather be the one to drive her there I guess. The road we have to travel is a long straight stretch of nothing between 2 towns. It has a bad reputation for accidents because people have a tendency not to stop on the crossroads. There are lots of speeders too because it is so straight.

I would rather not take her there at all but I am hoping she will get tired of this guy and then not see him anymore. He is an okay sort of guy but he didn't graduate highschool, smokes, drinks (only occasionally) doesn't have a job and sits around on the internet all day, and plays in a band. Somehow I can't see much of a future with a guy like that.

Oh I am wrong, his mother buys his cigarettes for him  , wonderful. He never has any money, so they never go out anywhere. He has not taken her on a real date since they have started to go out together.

I like him but....................?????????

BUT? But what? Cigarette butt! What IS positive about this guy? No job, smokes & drinks, doesn't drive (which is good if he's drinking of course), hasn't taken her on a date since the beginning?! What on earth...........oh, lemme stop, 'Mommy' is kicking in, I shouldn't judge. I shall hope with you that she tires of this young man. ;) Might seem harsh, but maybe don't take her anymore? Sorry, there goes 'Mommy' again. ;) :p

Oh the things I have to look forward to!

Evening~

sheesh Cruisin'Kroezes, how long has your dd been w/ this dude? does she realize that a man w/out an education is not :smooth: ...... oh well, I'm with KimRaye and you and hope she tires of him.....

Well, looks like one more day for me til I see Mickey and Friends.....:teeth:

Kim, I can't just not take her anymore. I am not like those mothers on here who think they can control their children. It drives me crazy reading those posts where they get on their high horses and say ..........my kid won't be allowed to do this or that until they are such and such an age.

I decided long ago that I cannot choose my children's friends for them. That is up to them to do. If I don't approve, then I just keep my mouth shut (mostly anyways!) and let them find out for themselves.

She is 17 years old pushing 18, she needs to make her own mistakes and learn from them.

She is very open with me and tells me a lot of things that most teenagers would NOT tell their parents.

So far things have worked out well because both of my kids are very level headed and quite mature in their thinking.

So to answer your question...............

I like him but ................... I don't think he is the right guy for her in the end and I am quite confident that she will figure that out herself. He is a nice guy (has some strange quirks but don't we all), easy to get along with (with me anyways), and he makes her laugh. Right now that is enough for her.

I also follow the philosophy that I treat every friend that my kids bring home as if they are the one they will be spending the rest of their lives with. Because ........... you never know and if you don't treat them with respect and kindness from the beginning if your kid does decide they are the one then you will have a problem. :D

Good Morning guys,

They have known each other since January and been going together for about 5 months now.

I hope she realizes that she needs someone who will at least pull his own weight and make his share of the money.

We are not rich by any means but we live comfortably well. I drive a 93 rusted out Civic and we have a 2001 Accord, live in a small house with basically old furniture in it. We prefer to spend our money on vacations instead of in our house. We are able within limits of course to have pretty much whatever we want (thankfully our wants are not great, well except I would really like to have an Austin Mini ;) ). My daughter is used to being involved in extra activites that are not cheap ...... gymnastics, horseback riding, dance, piano etc.

So, my daughter has gotten used to a certain standard of living, to get involved with a guy who has no job and no prospects is probably not a good choice for her ;)

Are you all ready to go PrincessaC. Kids all excited!!?!?!??! I know that I would be.

 Betsy, we missed you this weekend and wondered what you were up to. Isn't it nice to get those jobs done and then stand back and enjoy the view!!!

Enjoy catching up on the weekends happenings. I have to go to work now ................ see ya'll later, eh :p

Whew!.......
I cant believe I went through 4 days in one cup of coffee!
First off....
Hi PrincessaC,
Its always good to see a new face....uh I mean name around here!
Cruisin'Kroezes,
Hi and Its good to be missed.....:o Thank you. IMHO I would let your daughter see who ever she wants to see, without comment to her...At eighteen she will do and see whom ever anyway....At least this way she is not hiding it.....If you said something dissaproving then she might not let you know(so you wouldnt be upset with her). I think with you as a parent she has the right set of values and will either figure out that this guy in not "THE ONE "
or show you he is better then you think he is.
My DH had long hair, smoked, drank beer(as did I at the time,we dont anymore)) and didnt look like he would become "anybody" to my parents. BUT they did not know him like I did and in the end he proved himself to be a good person who provided a good home for his family. It didnt take long for my parents to love him. So Id hold your opinions and trust your daughters choices. You just never know what the future will bring!
HEY! PB WHERE ARE YOU???
Here christmas is over in your story and I didnt get my DVC :( .....I must have been on his BAD list....:earseek: Oh no I was hoping he didnt know about THAT THING !! It was a mistake........Really..... I didnt do any:jumping1: ..............I only watched.......and I tried not to:o ...I only peeked a couple of times:earseek: The ones who were:jumping1: should be on your BAD list too....If I have to be!:teeth: I need company::yes:: Its lonely here on the BAD list.
Hollyann come save me ........I KNOW you are good....help me be good too.....I really want my DVC:teeth: I think I need a Jimminy Cricket to help me...At least I dont lie....I couldnt handle the nose thing. I already think my toes are to long, but at least I can hide them in my shoes...
SHHHH Just a little secret between me and my TK friends..... Dont tell anyone,,,,, but I have........(oh this is so hard to admit).... Im a freak with long toes and monkey feet AND My second and third toes on both feet are........(please dont laugh)webbed:earseek:
I am now REALLY embarassed:o Now, but at least only my TK friends know.......:wave2:
OK my confession is over. I have to go and let out my horses.......
KimRaye,.....I hope you are having better luck with your DDs school.
PrincessaC,.... Have a great time at WDW and please let us know all the fun details when you get back....I will live vicariously through you (and anyone else going befor me)until I can get back there in July.
I hope everyone has a good day!
Ill try to not go so many days without checking in so I dont miss all of the silliness!
BP....Please finish the story! ::yes::
By the way I can juggle too you know......I juggle DGKs, dogs, horses, DHs, housework, cooking. You name it I can throw it in there and juggle it around with everything else. Im just crazy like that! But at the end of the day(around 9-10pm)dont wake me up....just let me sleep or else!...Not much of a night owl:rolleyes:

:wave2: Dalpal, glad you got all caught up on your reading ;)

I totally agree with you on the boyfriend stuff. Everybody has to make their own choices in this life. And it is true I don't know him the way she does. Don't get me wrong, I do like the guy. He is very quick witted, funny, cute too ;) with long dark hair. He has 3 lip piercings but usually only wears 2 but they don't bother me in the least either. Over all I think he is a great guy, but I'm not sure about his future potential. But the future will have to take care of itself, we can only live right now!

So you are watcher not a participant in the sport of :jumping1: are you :earseek:

You had better hope the tag fairies are not watching because you could find yourself with some pretty interesting tags with your foot confession

HEY HEY!

Hi Dalpal~ Nice to meet you! .. you know after reading what you posted about the BF thing.. I have to say I totally agree with everything you said! Thanks for putting it in that prospective and come to think of it...me and dh were like that too... both still in high school....dh was such a bad boy he got expelled from school and never got his diploma~me being soooooo in love wanted to follow in his footsteps....of course my parents were furious...before i met dh i was an A/B student..after being w/ dh for a few years my grades slipped and things went down hill...we made bad choices and my parents hated him (at the time ;) ) to make a long story short... We definately straighted up ... we now both have degrees :smooth: and live very comfortably...(although i need to go back to school)dh is a flyer in the military and gets paid well! I'm not complaining! We are able to take yearly vacations... ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo Who would of thought we'd be where we are now 13yrs ago!

Okay, enough of the life story... :teeth:
