Hey Hey :D

Sheesh, I ended up watching The Shining lastnight! I ended up falling asleep in bed. Did not even get to finish the laundry.

 Hi Hollyann, How ya doing? Yep, it will be our first time at Shades of Green. I'll let you know how it is. I'm not quite done packing yet. I still have one more load of laundry to do. Then I can finish up packing.

Cruisin'Kroezes, sounds like your dh is having fun w/ those airplanes. Men and their toys.

Gee guys guess what I just found !!!!!!!!!

I opened the garage door to see if there were any kitties in there that wanted to come into the house. We keep the door up a bit so they can get in and out of the weather if they want to.

Well, there were no cats to be seen in the garage. But I looked down and there on the mat right outside the door I see.............. three mice in varying sizes all laid out nicely there

Someone brought me a treat

Now I know that I was starting to think that breakfast would be a good idea but that was not exactly what I had in mind

Yikes :scared: :faint:

Eeeewww! Our kitty - years ago - used to give us half eaten water bugs. In California, the water bugs are pretty big, so I guess she felt we only needed half. Yuk!

Sounds like Rick is going to have a ball. He'll come home happy, cold & hungry!

Hey PC! We finally got to chat! I'm SO excited for you. I checked on-line a while ago that SOG just went through a major rehab so it should be just like new. It also has the largest rooms of any of the WDW hotels. Cool......you'll have so much fun.

Tom and I found out that his sister, who has cancer isn't doing well. For some reason, like Mum who died in January, she's kept her illness mostly a secret. Anyway, we're not sure what to do. I think we'll make plans to get up there after the election. We just found out, so we'll talk more about it later. They're not particularly close, but he does want to see her. She has breast & bone cancer.

Well, on that bummer of a note, I'll scoot. It's 4:20.....just finished watching a football game and another one is coming on! See ya'll later!

Ann That is too bad about Tom's sister. Breast and bone cancer doesn't sound too good. Does she live in PA?

I guess some people just want to deal with these things on their own. I don't know what I would do in that situation but I think I might be the same way. You never know until you are faced with it though, how you will react.

I am quite interested to hear how the airplane outing went today. I bet they had a great time. They did a practice run around the "block" by their own field a few weeks ago and had alot of fun then.

Just an update on the airplane flying adventure from this afternoon.

My husband came home and said they all just had a hoot doing that flying  He said his cheeks still hurt from laughing so much :p They are all already looking forward to doing it again next year!!!!

Where is everyone tonight

It has been awfully quiet in here!!!!

Except for the lurkers of course :wave2:

Hi Cruisin!

Hi Lurkers.............come out, come out, where ever you are! Ollie, Ollie Oxen Free!

You're right - it HAS been quiet. I'm glad your DH had a nice time. Sounded like fun.

Talked to DH and it looks like we'll be heading up to PA after the election. I also talked to his sister. She's bald from the chemo. She can only get up for about a half hour at a time. We're very concerned..........she's been fighting for a year now.

Well, I've got to do volunteer work til around 5pm, and walk 3 miles before that, so I'll scoot for now. I want to check the weather for tomorrow.

Ya'll take care and the rest of you need to come out and play!

Have fun with your volunteer work Ann.

I really really need to buy some groceries. I absolutely HATE to go to the grocery store. So therefore I go as little as possible and buy as much as possible so I don't have to go back again soon!!!

Good evening ladies, and lurkers. ;)

Robin, that sounds like such fun for your DH today! Glad he enjoyed! :D

Ann, I'm so, so sorry to hear about your DHs sister, close or not, she's still his sister, and there's no breaking that tie, ever. Prayers for her and all her loved ones. I'm glad to hear that you're going to see her. And, get your rest when you can this week, that election is drawing near. ;)

We're just the opposite.....I LOVE going to the grocery store. If I could, I'd go every day. Especially before I had dietary restrictions. I'd go to specialty stores, gourmet stores, and regular grocery stores all in one day! Now, I mostly just go to the regular store......still like it!

Me..........I hate cleaning the bathroom!

I go to the grocery store about 2 times a month, which is more than enough for me.

It's not so much that I don't like to get groceries, it is just that it involves so much time. It takes me 1 1/2 hours in the grocery store, partly because of my son's peanut allergy. I have to read ingredients on everything, no matter if I bought it last month or not, just in case the ingredients have changed.

Have you ever thought how many times you handle the stuff you get in the grocery store??? 1. put in cart ......... 2. put on checkout counter ............. 3. put back into cart .............. 4. put into car .............. 5. remove from car and take into house .............. 6. put it away where it belongs. That is a lot of handling and I just don't really enjoy it.

Now I do like the food ;)

I rarely go to the grocery store. :D I do the bulk shopping online through Peapod, and have it delivered. ::yes:: Sure, we need things here and there, especially produce, but dh gets those things once or twice a week. I have the big list delivered about twice a month. I love it! :teeth:

I just looked at my post and started to laugh.

It reminds me of the pet medication commercial.

Have you seen the one where she puts the dog in the car,,,,, drives to the vet....... such a silly commercial!!! You don't need the dog with you to get flea medicine!

:wave2: :wave2:

been busy around the ranch! Tonight.. had to take dd-14 to the local ER.. thought she had broken her L.arm at the elbow....
..Nobody at the ER tonight.. quiet as a church on Tuesday afternoon... anyway.. No fracture... YAY... but I may have to go back in when the ER bill comes in the mail.. $315.. just for the ER room, next will come the radiology bills, ER doc bill and Radiologist bill... total will probably be around $700.. which insurance will probably not cover all of it. I did get the ok to go to the local ER from primary doc... whew! that will go a long way with the insurance provider....

anyway.. I see the discussion has turned to shopping... ah my favorite adventure!

Kims whadda 'bout COSTCO???
I think grocery delivery is GENIUS.. great for all types of families, singles and seniors. I bet it cuts down on impulse buying too!
I shop at Nob Hill here. Regular grocery store.. not a big box type.
Sometimes I venture over to Safeway.. and Costco.. but I think I may give that membership up next renewal...
I shop once a week.... many teen boys around our home all friends of my own two teens... they eat alot. I keep the garage fridge stocked. They are good kids tho.. this summer they realized how much they were eating at our house.. several of the kids brought soda, chips, popsicles and ice cream bars over to restock.

Oh.. and I do get a few things from the SCHWANS MAN!

Do you all have a Schwans man who visits you in his big yellow freezer truck?

Hi mamajoan, nice to see you again.

I am glad that your daughter's arm is not broken. That is a lot of money just to find out it is not broken. One thing about here in Canada, we just go to the doctor or ER and don't worry about the cost because we never see how much it costs and we never have to pay directly for it. Of course we are paying for the services in our taxes.

The nearest Costco to me is one hour away in one direction and one and a half hours away in the other direction. I do shop there but not a regular basis. Sometimes we make trips to the "big" city so we can go to Costco. Not that where I live is that small, population of about 45,000 people in my city.

The home delivery of groceries wouldn't work for us, since we have to read all of the packages to check for the ingredients. What a time saver though for those of you who can use it!::yes::

Hey guys, I went out for lunch today in a million dollar car!!!!!!!

How cool is that??? I have put a link to a car that looks just like the one that I was in but the one I was in was black and red. I am trying to find a picture of the real car I was in but haven't been able to find one yet.

It was a 1932 Duesenberg. So cool with the extra windshield for the back seat.

I did my little "queenly" wave from the back seat to a couple of old gents who were sitting on a bench :D as we drove by.

My husband gets to ride in these cool cars all of the time but it was the first time that they thought to invite me along :p

Brer_Papa, they were spouting off all of the pertinent information but I didn't have a paper to write it down and I don't know all of the car lingo!!!!

Hey Hey, How is everyone today? This afternoon? Tonight?????

Everything's good here! :D I've been scrambling, trying to get everything together before our trip. Dh is putting some side steps on the family truckster. Actually he only has one on and we have been driving around a few days w/ one step. He can't get a bolt loose on the other side to put the other step on. He's over a friends house now and they are working on it.

Anyways, We had the oil changed and as soon as DH gets the step on we are cleaning out the truckster inside and out so we can have a nice clean 6hr drive :teeth:

I went to a parent/teacher conference today for DS (7)....Man I have the smartest kid!!! :teeth:

Actually, he needs some help in the math area. He is at a standard % rate right now. 87%...but there's room for improvement..... As far as the other subjects...he is above standard!!!!!!! 97% and higher for English, language arts, Reading....

He scored the highest on comprehension/reading out of the whole 2nd grade!!!!:hyper: I'm such a proud mommy right now! He's also in excellerated reading group!

They also have this program called "FLIGHT"...for the gifted and talented students. He had to be assessed and observed for a week to see if he qualified for it. He goes every Thursday for the whole day where they "challenge him" .

Okay, enough rambling about DS! :teeth: How's your day?

Oh Cruisin'Kroezes, I'm glad to hear your DH had a great time flying those airplanes!!

Hey that's a cool car!! They should invite you more often!

Hi PrincessaC

I am glad to hear that your son is doing so well in school and that they are actually helping him to get ahead. You have every right to be proud of him.

Now if we could just get Kim's daughter's school to do the same thing that would be absolutely wonderful.

The weather was absolutely postively wonderful here this afternoon. I spent some time outside in a t-shirt without the jacket. It was great!!!!

That's EXACTLY what I was thinking! Hey everyone! I'm home from working at the campaign headquarters all day. It was a good, productive day........I love days like that.

Tom and I are going in early tomorrow. It's going to be a zoo there tomorrow - as we have tickets to a popular rallys/events. That's okay........the time really flies.

Cruisin - cool car! You know the Deusenberg coined the phrase "that's a doozy"! I'm sure with your DH, you already knew that, but I always think of the car when I hear someone say that!

PrincessaC - (PC!) You're almost ready for your trip. I'm so excited for you. Remember.....we want a full report!

Mammajoan! How great to hear from you. I love Costco in California. They actually have one here, but it's about 45 minutes away. BJ's is right in our neighborhood, so we go there all the time. My theory is - if I can buy it in bulk - it saves me $$$. I buy all canned goods, paper products, sodas/water & dog food in bulk. It works.

Well, I've got to scoot. You'd be amazed the amount of stuff I've got to do. Ya'll take care and we'll chat later!

 Ann

Sounds like you are having a busy time. Better than being bored I guess.
