Who feels like a Thread-Killer? Part 2

First off..............Kim, you are in my heart. I'm so sorry to hear about your MIL, but relieved at the same time. You've got friends, loved ones and threadkillers who are all pulling for you. Hugs all around to you and yours.

YOU GUYS!!!

Anti chicken doo-doo screens? Armadillos? Bean/duck controversies? Where do you think we went camping???

Well, we had a GREAT time! No pooping chickens, no armadillos, no beans! We did have 2 peacocks stroll through our campsite and we shooed a duck away at b'fast this morning (Tom makes a great campfire b'fast, BTW!)

The campsite was lovely. It was so beautiful we left our rain (read: NOT anti chicken doo-doo) flaps up. At 10pm we were at the Marina watching the boat parade and it started to rain, and I mean R-A-I-N!!! We were on foot about a mile from our campsite so we got soaked and two corners of our tent was soaked. However, that didn't detract from our fun.

I thought of the TK's all the time! BP, they had the fattest squirrels I've ever seen. I told DH that you could probably get 20 McNuggets from some of them! We also saw the Wilderness Lodge and had snacks there - nice place!

I truly hope we do an '07 cruise - then maybe camping next! We walked every where. It wasn't far from front to back of FW. I don't think it was 1.5 miles like they said. If so, we walked it twice back & forth the first day. We did the same amount the 2nd day plus the 1.5 mile trek to the Wilderness Lodge!

Anyway - it was amazing! We plan on camping somewhere else in November and "test camp" the dog (to see how she does, not how she tastes BBQ'd - so get THAT ONE right out of your mind, BP!!). Then we're going again in January for our Anniversary (remember - we have two!). We'll also go to Epcot then. Speaking of..............Hi "Ilovepcot"! We haven't been to epcot since the first months of our marriage - when epcot opened six months prior!! I imagine it's changed a lot.

This is getting long - I'll post another one!

Hi Kim - you hanging in there? I hope so. Remember - you've got friends here...........feel free to vent, lurk or hang out!

Hi Cruisin - thanks for keeping an eye on BP til he started complaining about behaving! "Let it all out"? Now Cruisin, even I wouldn't have told him that! We could be in serious trouble with that one!

BP - you did behave reasonably well. I'm quite pleased. Try to restrain yourself with Cruisin's blanket permission.

Wendy - no sleep? Whatcha doin?

Luckymommy - you are a football goddess! I love football - mostly for the noise in the house - it means fall's here! My favorite season!

SnowAngel - howdy do! Hope you're feeling better!

DalPal - like me, you've got a LOT of reading to do!

ilovepcot - I'm SO glad you're here! This truly is "the more the merrier" thread! Don't even try to kill it. I'll keep postin' after ya. If nobody keeps posting after me, I'll post & post & post. That means it keeps going...........right?!?

Anyway, ya'll take care and I'll chat with ya later! (holly)Ann

P.S. I'm googling a few of you!

This afternoon I attended my son's College Graduation ceremonies. He has now officially graduated as a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) which in the US I think (???) is called an LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse. Don't quote me on that though because I am not 100% sure of the terminology.

He still has to wait for official confirmation that he has passed the exam he wrote for the College of Nurses. This exam gives him official permission to practice his nursing and to get a job as an RPN. The results should be here any day now.

Right now he is studying at the same college to become a paramedic, so he has 2 more years to go. He got a lot of exemptions from classes this semester because of his nursing background.

Then I hope that he can take care of his Mom, when she is sick ::yes::

Here a lot of nursing and paramedic jobs are part time jobs, so hopefully he will be able to find work in one or both of his professions, when he is finished.

Here is a picture of Alex and his girlfriend Jessica, taken after the graduation ceremonies this afternoon.

Hey Kim!....hope everything is OK....

thinking of ya....

I just checked and you are right. Not one mention of naps at all during the camping trip :scratchin

Were you afraid your "snoring" was going to attract an audience in the middle of the day ;)

We went to Discovery Island one time when we were at WDW. The kids, really enjoyed it. Especially my daughter who really enjoyed touching the great big snakes!!!!!

It sounds like you are having fun making your haunted covered bridge picture. Can you take a picture when it is done and post it for us to see????

I'm ok today, tomorrow will be different I'm sure. :( We ran around today, ate out for lunch, and visited my FIL (and the crew) for a while. Got home about an hour ago.

Is that the new word for 'it'? :p

And, Congrats to Alex!!!! Much success to him!!!!

Ann, your camping trip sounds so wonderful, and I don't even camp! ;)

Thank you (you know who) for the very thoughtful PMs. You're such sweet friends.

Sending thoughts your way Kim to try and help you through this difficult day

Good rainy Friday morning everyone. Here's wishing for some :sunny: , which isn't going to happen here for a few days I think.

Good rainy morning to you Robin and fellow threadkillers! A little sun and warmth would be appreciated but it only looks like it's going to get colder over the weekend! Congrats to your son Alex! You must be a very proud mama!

How are you doing Kim? Thoughts and prayers still going out to you.

HollyAnn...me....football godess!!??!! I LIKE the sound of that! Do I have your permission to use that as my user name for next year's fantasy football team? ;) I think with a title like that I should have a tiara...maybe something that matches that Victoria Secret outfit BP is buying me! I better move on since it's a little too early to be starting this....
I'm glad you had a great trip. I've never thought about camping at WDW just because I could do it around here and I think I'd rather a sun and sand kinda' atmosphere. You did make it sound inviting though.

Dalpal, how's your four-legged children doing? Hopefully the leg is back to normal now. I still haven't taken the time to scan any of my pictures...just another thing to add to my "to do" list.

BP, are you definitely taking Buffalo this weekend? I need to do my line-up, maybe tomorrow since Sunday morning looks like it'll be a little hectic and I don't want to forget, especially this weekend! Good luck!!

I'm off to take my DD to the dentist then stop at the bookstore to see if anything grabs my attention for the plane ride next weekend. Chat with ya' later!!!

God Morning all you TKs,
Whew!....It took a few trys, but I caught up....Man Ive missed alot in such a short time.
KIM,.....
I am so sorry for your loss... Its harder when its not sudden... for everyone....but it sounded like everyone got a chance to say goodbye and most importaint she got a chance to say good bye to everyone... Im sure she went in peace.
My FIL was waiting for a long time and it was very hard on all involved. He was not aware..or "there"for most of the time. On the other hand My own father died suddenly and it was a shock and we all didnt have a chance to say goodbye,.... but he was not the kind that would have been able to linger... It would have been to hard for him..... So I guess God know what is best. Bless you and all your family.
I read that You had a good time camping Holly Ann, I am so glad you had good weather for the most part. Camping is not fun if it rains the whole time. Glad your back to keep "some people in line!"
ilovepcot,
WELCOME and you have found a great site with the BEST people to gab with. IF you can keep up... I get alittle behind some times but its fun reading .
Brer_Papa,
HI,... I was at DI once. The first time we went to WDW as a matter of fact. I thought it was really nice, and was a little dissapointed when I found out it was closed, but if AK was the replacment I think it was a good trade off.
Pennsylvania squirrels make FW squirrels look puny! :laughin:
I would have to agree with you on this... You should see what they do to my birdfeeders. They are the only critters that I dont care about when my DS says he is going hunting for them...BUT I will NOT do any cooking of them......or fish.... I HATE fish. The smell will NOT leave my house when he use to cook them, But now he has his own house to cook them in! ::yes:: So That is one more reason I dont mind the empty nest.
:teeth:
Oh BIG day tomarrow... We are taking our two oldest DGSs on a steam train ride for the day from Binghamton NY to Syracuse NY and back! They will even serve dinner in a dinning car!( no I dont think they will be serving Squirrels.....Thank god). I hope the colors are still nice... They should be. I have been just LOVING the colors this year. They seem so BRIGHT.I am also praying for some sunshine, but I guess we will take what we get.
Well with this gloomy rainy day I could go on and on, but I dont want everyone to get bored so ....Ill shut up now:rolleyes:
Have a great day and dont talk to much between today and Sun. so I dont have too much to catch up on .:sunny:
Hi everyone else, Keep this thread going I would miss you all if it died!
Betsy
Oh and Congrats to Alex. Wow It would be nice to have a nurse in the family. You must be very proud!
Luckymommyx2,
Cookie seems to be doing just fine. I think she is all better, but she has an appt. on the 18th just to confirm. Thank you for asking.
I really will shut up now!
:o

. :faint:

Kim, I am sorry to hwear of your loss. My prayers and thoughts will be with you

Okay, I need some advice .........

My son and his girlfriend celebrated their 2 year anniversary yesterday of going out together. I had Jessica in the car alone with me yesterday for a bit and she said to me ............... So what do I call you???? Your son and I have been going out for 2 years now and I don't know what I should call you????

I really don't know what to say to that. Have you guys got any good options for me. I have never really called my in laws anything, although I would LOVE to call my mother in law a few nice names :smooth:

So how did/do you handle those kinds of things????

Robin, you have me LOL!!! :rotfl:  It seemed like when I had (still have) the problems with my MIL, everyone else was saying how well they got along with theirs. Glad to know I'm not alone!!
I don't know how much help I can be with this situation. My kids should have a good 15-20yrs to go before I SHOULD have to worry about this. If you're comfortable with her calling you by your first name then I would let her know. It sounds like she doesn't want to call you Mrs. __. I don't know if I would go so far as to have her calling you by crusin' ;) ...hopefully that is just reserved for us TK'ers! All in all I think it should come down to what YOU are comfortable with. Good luck and let us know how it works out!
Is it clearing up any up there? Still dreary here which is making me want to go take a nap instead of working out. Maybe I'll just hang around here for a bit until I decide what I'm doing. Take care!

It rained quite hard here all morning and was very dark and dreary. It is a little brighter right now but I think we will have some more rain.

I really don't care what she calls me as long as it is not the Mrs Kroeze thing. I volunteered and worked in the school for a lot of years and got quite tired of hearing that. It was a bit strange though because I knew quite a few of the kids out of school so some of them would call me Mrs. Kroeze and then others would call me Robin.

One of my daughters past boyfriends always called me Mrs K and he still does. Actually I have Mrs K as part of one of my email addresses. My daughters first boyfriend always called me Mom!
