Who else is on the May 10, 2003 Western?

Hey, could you guys keep an eye out for a server named Darren? He used to be a regular DISer, cruised 3 times and liked it so much, he then got a job on the Magic. Remember DisneylandDarren? He's a total Disney nut. If you see him, shake a finger at him and tell him to pop in on his DIS family! He's tall, thin, brown hair and has British accent. Please IM me if you get to talk to him, and tell me how he's doing so I can pass it on to the rest of the clan. Thanks. Have a blast!

Thanks for making the buttons, Kathy! I'm really sorry, but it looks like we may not be able to make the DIS meeting. We are stopping by the Space Center before the cruise, so we may still be on the road or checking in at 3 PM...

We are leaving 2 weeks from tonight! Yahoo! WDW here I come!

Kathy, you rock! And thanks to Mary, who will be making our sign.

Vernie Bird: Glad you finally posted! We are glad to have you.

Now we need to hear from Onlysons, who must be cool since she is from Vegas too! :)

BBGRIZZLE.....I am finally posting because it took this long for me to figure out how to reply to the threads, lol. I am thrilled to have a place to "cyber-meet" people going on the cruise. I come home from work each night after working on a computer from 8am to 9pm and rush to my home computer to check these boards. I feel like I already have a "disney cruise family" to talk to !

DreamsDoComeTrue.....is that true??? DisneylandDarren became a server onboard??? Wow...we sailed with him on 1/4/03 Magic!!!! He loved it so much he booked onboard for the next week and did a back to back!! I spoke to him several times that week and I knew he was up to something about a job...but was not sure if it was onboard the Magic or at WDW!!! That is so cool!!!

We are sailing on the 5/17/03 Magic and I will definately be on the lookout for him!!! I was wondering why he has not posted in awhile....with the hours those servers work he has no time!!!

In this pic he is in the blue shirt, back row center. For view, if you click NORMAL instead of FIT WINDOW...it makes the pic a bit larger. This was from our DIS meet in the Promenade Lounge.

This has been on before, but so far my record for forgetting to watch it is perfect. It is airing again on 5/6 (4 days before we leave), Time is EST.

MJ, I just sent you a PM. OK you lucky cruisers, I'm unsubscribing to your thread now since it's a bit like crashing into someones private party!:p But really, LOOK for Darren. Tell him the DISers say "Hi". PM me if you have news. Thanks
Have a great one. ~Lori

Bump.... Needs to be on the 1st page again!

2 weeks to go !!! Whhoooo Hoooo

For just me and DH, do you think we need an over the door organizer or is this more of use for a family in one stateroom?

Any 'last minute' packing suggestions for us new DCL cruisers- ? I have started putting together a ziploc baggie of some things I don't want to forget like highlighters, hydrocortisone cream, rubberbands, sunscreen stick, etc. I also have multiple lists- packing lists for clothes, personal and misc. items and a 'still need to buy before we go' list. Bonine is at the top of that one! What about these sea bands- where do you buy those? I'm not so worried about myself but DH does get car sick and he is concerned that he will be seasick.

Also, another thread mentioned something about mixing the bonine with alcohol. Any comments out there for this one from past cruisers?

Hope you are all handling the final days of waiting better than we are- I feel like I'm about to jump out of my skin! :smooth: And we still have two weeks to go!!! Yikes-

I was in the local CVS buying bonine for the wife and kids and they had the sea bands, so any large pharmacy might. I checked the cvs web page (www.cvs.com), searched on sea, and they sell them there as well (9.99)

Nikswims: Get the shoe organizer. My DH and I cruised by ourselves last year and we were mighty glad to have it. Those bathrooms are pretty small.

About seasickness--I'm a person who gets carsick and was SUPER sick all nine months of both my pregnancies (had to be hospitalized for severe morning sickness). I was really worried about seasickness. But I took Dramamine the morning of the first 2 days of the cruise and felt fine. Never had to take it afterward. I think whatever you take, as long as you take it in advance, BEFORE you get sick, it should be fine.

Has anyone heard of the Semi-formal & Formal days being switched? This will really mess up my Palo Res. if it is true. Anybody know anything, maybe I'll call and see what they say.
Let you know what I find out.

I tried the Bonine last cruise and it worked great. Packing some again this time. I took my first pill while we were waiting in the terminal to board and then one each morning thereafter, including the day we left. I was glad I did because we had a bumpy flight going home. I drank both mixed drinks and wine and didn't have any problems. I think it could make you drowsy, especially with the alcohol, but no problem here.

SeaSickness:My dds were fine, never even said anything about being queezy. I got a little queezy after dinner the first night, walked into one of the gift shops, and saw the towels hanging up, swaying back~~and~~forth~~, had to go lay down, took a bonine, and was just fine. I didn't notice any problems mixing w/alcohol.

Dinner Schedule Change:
Semi Formal and Formal nights have switched !
Semi Formal (was Thursday) is now Monday, and Formal (was Monday) is now Thursday. DCL said this is how it is now, but could change back at anytime. She said to check again once you get on board. This did goof up our reservations, had to change them(again)(I'm sure she thinks I'm crazy) to Monday now. So we can have Formal night with dds.

PLEASE TELL ME THE CRUISE WILL SEEM AS LONG AS THESE FINAL DAYS ARE TICKING AWAY. CAN'T WE JUST SPEED THINGS UP A LITTLE AND LEAVE THIS SATURDAY?

I KNOW THIS WILL BE ONE INCREADIBLE WEEK ... I JUST CAN'T WAIT FOR MY SHIP TO COME IN - AND THEN TO DEPART WITH US ABOARD.

CHANGES IN LATITUDES, CHANGES IN ATTITUDES.

Does anyone have any experience with the "Safe Sea" lotion that repels stinging jellyfish and sea lice? Eee-yew....dont want any of those critters on me or my son ! I am thinking of ordering it online....it comes with a sunscreen for #12.50. Any hints?

We picked up Safe Sea before our cruise 2 years ago and it seemed to work great (ie. we had no sea lice). For those of you going down early you can pick it up at Ron Jon's which is about a mile or so from the Radisson. If you have never been there - go - a cool place open 24 hours!

Even though it has sunscreen I found that wasn't as effective as regular sunscreen so we are bringing extra (and a higher SPF) so we don't get burned.

Hope that helps!

Sea Lice sound really nasty!! I don't think I've ever seen them before. Will they be on every beach or only certain area?

Ron Jons it soo cool!! We haven't been there in many years, can't wait to see what's changed!

Who's going to be at the Radisson ?

We'll be there, Thursday evening.

If you check out the link at the top of the cruise board it lists all the info about sea lice...they seem to be present in the bahamas (CC) during May.

Minnie (Jen)
We'll be at the Radisson Friday afternoon. It will give Megan and Delaney a chance to meet before boarding.
