I just read all the replies and have a couple of thoughts:
First, it would seem that most of the people who have said they liked it, were staying onsite. For those people, it has both advantages and disadvantages. The advantage is that you can book FP's ahead of time and don't have to worry about getting to the park at rope drop. The disadvantages are that you are limited to 3, those 3 are tiered, and you can't get FP's in more than one park.
For offsite visitors, there are more disadvantages and no real advantages. In addition to the same disadvantages as onsite visitors, you also have a greatly reduced number of FP's available because many(most?) will be gone before you wake up the morning of your park visit.
So I can see why onsite guests would have mixed feelings about it. But I really can't see how any offsite guests would like FP+ in it's current state.
Second, there were a lot of comments about not judging it before trying it to see if it worked for you. I don't have to try it to know that being limited to 3 FP's will make it worse than the old system for us. I also don't have to try it to know that if onsite guests can book in advance and I can't, that's going to make it worse than the old system.
So there are a few reasons I'm glad I'm not planning a trip now:
The way FP+ is being operated now, I KNOW that it would make our trip less enjoyable. This is just common sense, not a case of "try it, you might like it".
We don't know whether the limit of 3 will continue.
We don't know if tiering will continue (or expand to all parks).
We don't know if offsite guests will be able to book in advance.
