Am I the lone DISer that hasn't been back out running since Marathon weekend? I plan on taking this week off then getting back out there for fun runs next week. I have not run while not in training yet. Its going to feel weird to just run for the heck of it. So who else is slacking?

I've done a yoga workout, but no running yet. Part of that is my IT band flared a little so I'm resting it, but also it was recommended that I take a week off with easy walking and light xt.

Walking over mounds of snow to get to school (work) today because our mayor is an idiot sort of put a crimp in those plans.

Sports massage this evening!

Me! I got injured during the half and haven't been able to do more than hobble, much less run. Was planning two days in the parks post race but I could barely make it around world showcase once. Still on my way back from FL and have a dr appt tomorrow. Hoping for the best- I'm dying to run again!!

I did the full on Sunday and plan on taking about 10 days off. That is what I did last time and while I could have gone out sooner I want to fully heal. Now that all the training is done for that I will be upping my time in the gym.

Good luck! I hope all goes well for you!! Keep us posted. What kind of injury did you have?

No running yet because I only brought two sets of running gear with me. I did spend a lot of time on my feet in Epcot on Monday drinking around the world, so my legs aren't as tight as they otherwise might be. The massage yesterday helped with residual soreness too. First post-Goofy run will be on Saturday morning.

I haven't run yet, but I figured 7 days of touring the parks from open to close counted as something! ;)
I probably won't run until next week.

Hi everyone. I'm not back to running yet either. I did hit the ground running, so to speak, because I'm so busy with my kids. We got home Monday evening and I haven't sat still since, it seems. I got so spoiled in Florida running outside. I cant quite get up the gumption to run outside here in northern Minnesota where its 20 degrees on a good day. I have a treadmill, but I haven't given it much thought the two days vie been home. I wick take this week off (trying to think more about my diet right now) and start back into a training plan next Monday. I think there is a half marathon in Minneapolis in March I may try to do. Then it's a half in June, and Disneyland Half in September.

It's only been a few days! lol

So, no, I have not done any working out since the half. Next week. :thumbsup2

It feels weird to not have to plan my weekend around a long run. My whole running 'career' has been training so this is all new to me. I know it has only been a few days but dang it feels like forever. I don't know what to do with all of this free time.

My PT actually said he didn't want me running until he saw me post race (the appointment is tonight). He said 72 hours post race is a minimum time off without running, but walking was okay. So I did A LOT of walking Sunday and Monday at WDW.

I am not going back to running until I find out what is going on with my Achilles. The City of Atlanta is still at a standstill with our icy roads so the Sports Medicine Docs are still out of the office and work has been closed for three days. I will probably get back into the gym to get back to my upper body workouts in the meantime. I am going to skip the Princess Half this year so it will be a while until the DL Half thankfully.

No running yet! I walked around WDW Sunday and Monday after Goofy (and a little on Saturday) and I went to the gym for 30 min on the elliptical yesterday. I am planning on running Thursday with my group for my first run and I will not run more than 10 miles this weekend as my LR (I have another half coming up in March).

If you're back to running already, it should be SLOW. Conventional wisdom is to take one day off of hard running per mile in your race. So you can go back to fast running in 13 days for a half, 26 for a full.

You should take time off after a half or a full or both in some people's cases. I just got back from WDW yesterday afternoon and had to go back to work today (boo) so no running for me probably until some time next week. At that it will only be like a mile or 2 of SLOW running or walking. My knees started bothering me about mile 15 in the full. Never had a problem with my knees before so I am taking it easy and icing at least once a day and plan to give it a little more time to not hurt any more.

I did walk around the parks on Sunday and Monday and can feel an improvement in my legs from Monday to today.

Already planning to do Goofy number 3 next year but it may end up being half number 5 and take a year off the full to do the family races on Friday with my nieces and sister.

I haven't done any running yet. I walked around the parks a lot Sat-Mon. (We averaged about 10 miles per day.) I swam today and am meeting with my trainer tomorrow. I only have 357 days till my first Goofy so I am going to start working with her on weight lifting plan that compliments my running.

I did the 5K and 1/2 and I'm itching to go start up again, but I'm waiting at least seven days before I start training for my first full in June. I did a lot of walking Friday around the outlet mall and a few more laps around Epcot on Sunday. I read a running book I bought while waiting for my flight home as well. For now, I'm preparing a running report for this board, another board I frequent, and for facebook. I'm also signing up for yoga for runners which starts this Sunday.

I bought a ton of running gear at the outlets and the expo and I really want to try them all out as well.

I did my first run back at PT last night--an easy 2 miles. It felt good to be back at it, but I'm glad I gave my body a break!

I ran the half Saturday. I have since run Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. However, my mileage is down from where it usually is, and I have kept the pace relatively easy. My legs felt great running this morning, but I am forcing myself to keep the pace down until Monday, at the earliest.

Just want to emphasize that starting back too quickly or too hard is not a good idea... make sure that you keep anything in the next week light and easy. Better yet, make it a time to cross train rather than train.
