we are going to pick up our tree this morning but I don't know that we will have time to actually put it up today or not.

I don't have mine up yet, but I swear it's not my fault. My DH won't let me get it out myself (pregnant) and he's been working like crazy since Thanksgiving. I told him it's happening this weekend come heck or high water.

No, we aren't putting up one this year. My cats would just knock it over and break the bulbs

We are supposed to go cut ours down today and then go to a small town tree lighting tonight, but one of my kids is still sick and I'm not sure if I want to take him out all day.
This is just another reason to strengthen my argument (with dh) on why we should have an artificial one ;)

Tree is up, but it's naked!! Ran out of time last weekend, so it's been standing there in the living room nakie 'til today when we'll be dressing her up :santa:

One year we went through that here at my DD's.. Don't remember what the reason was, but I think it sat there naked for about 2 weeks..:rotfl:

:( Do you know how to tie it off with fishing line (which is basically invisible) so they can't knock it over? Lots and lots of people with kittens/cats do that.. Then maybe you could put some plastic ornaments around the lower branches.. Been there, done that too! :santa:

The first year we had our cat, we put non breakable ornaments and tied the tree down to the baseboard heater :)

No tree here, yet. Maybe this weekend. I'm getting ready for finals though, so I'd almost rather wait till those are over.

If it would stop with the rain  We'd be out looking at trees today and getting the lights up already. But if i have saturday off then it absolutely, positively, MUST be raining. Which means since I'm stuck till after Christmas working every Sunday, then looks like we'll have to find another time to go tree hunting:confused3

Tomorrow's the day! We'll pick it up and decorate it all afternoon!:goofy:

I usually have mine by now but we had planned a slumber party for dd's birthday for last night. Didn't want to take my chances of a hoard of squealing 9/10 yr olds taking down my tree....worse than a kitten any day:lmao: Unfortunately, dd...who has never had a sick day from school ever...was sick Thursday and Friday and had to reschedule her party. I went and bought a tree last night..it's sitting naked under my carport..and we'll decorate it tonight or tomorrow. I'm going to have to take my chances with the girls next Friday night....wish me luck!

Nope, not yet...I SHOULD be doing it now...but.....:confused3

Thanks for starting this thread - good to know I am not alone....Today is the day I am supposed to be putting up the tree - DH is going to play poker tonight and I want the house transformed when he gets home....but I just got up (11:30am) and I'm not feeling particularly motivated....

Have your morning coffee or whatever, take a quick jump in the shower, get dressed, put on some Christmas music, and REALLY crank it up! That should get you motivated..:santa:

No guilt here. :teeth: The tradition in our family from when I was a kid was that trees and decorations go up two weeks before Christmas. That will make my HOA happy. HOA says no outside decorations until 2 weeks prior, and they must be down 1 week after. :sad2: I really need to move!

We don't have ours up either. We're about a week late already. I'm hoping to get it put up today, but it's DH's job to put it together and set it up and string the lights. I keep bugging him about it but he hasn't done it yet. Maybe yet today, hopefully!!

We aren't putting one up this year. We will be away during Christmas for several days and with two cats... alone in the house...

Yeah, I don't want to come home to broken ornaments all over the place plus our one cat likes to chew on and *eat* anything that even looks like a plant (which would probably include our artificial Christmas tree...)

agnes!

Hopefully tomorrow. I has wanted it up the Sunday after Thanksgiving, so I am not too far behind. I do have outdoor decorations almost completed, and hope to get my other indoor ones up today. That is if I can get myself off the computer.
