Who does Britney think she is kidding?

She accomplished the goal she set out to do - everyone is talking about her the next day. Doesn't matter if it's good publicity or bad, in the end, all publicity is good, Keeps her name in the headlines until she gets back in the recording studio.

Truthfully, I feel a little sorry for her also.
Take a young girl in the formative stages of development....surround her with way too much money, millions of adoring fans, drugs, alcohol, and all the other stuff that the music industry is famous for -- completely ignore her education both academically and morally ......

oh, and make sure that you have her parade nearly naked across nearly every major stage in the world so you can absolutely cement the idea that her most important attribute is her body and looking sexy --

and this is the result. It is no wonder at all to me that she does not have a clue in the world how to be a parent. She does not have a clue in the world of how to be ANYTHING other than a singing sex object because that is ALL that she was raised to be. The girl has been an emotional train wreck for years.

She really needs to hire a good quality Nanny for the child and the one that is coming. One who is cognizant of how to properly care for a child, keep them safe, and set boundries.

Thank you. I read the whole interview. I would love to watch it on video, though, so that I could see her facial expressions, gum smacking, etc. I know that would add so much more to it. I will admit that she certainly did say "like" too much. I noticed that just reading the interview. I can't imagine how bad it must have sounded in the interview live.

If I saw her on the street today I'd give her a hug. I felt so bad for her last night. She is clearly miserable (but for her son). The past year has aged her - dramatically. She is a kid in way over her head and she has no idea what to do. Even the best make-up and hair team in LA couldn't have masked the incredible sadness. She's a trainwreck and hope someone helps her soon rather than living off of her. The best thing for her would be to never sing again, dump her husband and all the moochers around her, and raise her kids quietly. I hope she finds happiness for her sake and for the sake of her children.

Good luck, Britney.
::yes:: I grew up idolizing Britney, and I can't help but feel so sad for her. She tried so hard to get into the spotlight and now she is trying so hard to get rid of it. I think she just wanted to be a wife and mother and found the closest guy and married him (and then another one). I feel so sad for her. She is someone who is my age (a tad bit older) and going through all of this. I would be a wreck too. She has not had the experiences that most girls her age have. She has toured the world, dated famous people, walked red carpets, and it doesn't make her happy. That just proves that money and success don't equal happiness...

Poor Brit Birt :guilty:

This reminds me of the time I walked past Bill France Jr. at the WDW Speedway at a race I was covering in 1997. He was sporting this incredibly ugly brown polyester suit. MasterCard is right... There are just some things that money can't buy.

I'm almost ashamed to say that we used to be SOOO proud of her - she's from Kentwood, LA!! Like I said, we were proud - :sad2:
I hear you. When she first came out we were so happy a young girl from Kentwood, La made it big. Now I hate that she is from here. All I can say is Britney, Britney, Britney. :sad2: What are you thinking girl?

OMG, I would never recognize her from that first picture on the msnbc site! Of course, she doesn't appear that much in the magazines over here, haven't seen that many pictures of her, but still. She doesn't look like the Britney-from-the-videos-anymore!

I feel sorry for her also, she obviously hasn't had anyone to teach her ANYTHING. It would have made her look 50% better if she would have spit the gum out. I just couldn't take her seriously with that gum in her mouth. And the clothes and makeup! Poor girl! Kevin probably said she looked good-he's the one that took her down a couple more notches. He always looks like total white trash. Boy I'm a snob! Her baby is such a cutie though!

The thing that struck me the most about the interview was the clips they showed of when Matt first interviewed her 6 or 7 yrs ago. She was such a pretty girl then and now she looks old and used.

I feel sorry for her because her parents seemed to care more about what she could do for them than what they could do for her. As far as her Mother goes, either her family is distancing themselves from her trainwreck life or now that her sister is making money she's moved her devotion on to her sister.

I don't buy the poor innocent country Britney act. This is a shrewd business woman. She knows how to market herself to get the most attention because the more attention she gets the more money she makes. She even admits that she loves money.

If she truly intended to show things from her side and to garner sympathy with that interview, the very least she could do was hire someone to do her hair, makeup, and an outfit that doesn't show more ****s in the afternoon than a floozy would. Oh and tug the skirt down past the crotch would be good as well. Cripes! Even Anna Nicole Smith, the epitome of trailer trash, was able to pull herself together for court appearances.

While I never idolized her, I always liked her songs and thought she was cute. (and I am way old enough to be her mom). The way she is now reminds me of her one song. I'm not sure of the title, but it talks about how she's lucky she's a star, but then talks about how miserable she really is out of the spotlight.

As a Mom, I want to walk up to her and give her a big hug and lots and lots of advice. I don't think her Mom ever did that. Now that her little sister is taking over the spotlight for the family Mom has another money maker to keep her busy. I think Britney needs someone to tell her, "No, the way you are behaving and dressing is not OK, as a Mommy with another on the way, this is how you should be dressing/acting. Tell her what she needs to do to get her life back on track. Step #1, dump the loser husband"

This sums it up perfectly for me. She looks so sad and lost.

She looked just like T.T! Well, she is.

She was scratching her feet on national TV, the gum, the outfit. :sad2:

I had to stop reading on page three of the transcript...I just couldn't take any more.

I am wondering if the lack of her mother in her life is because her mom was against the marriage and Britney cut her out. Absolutely NO proof of this, but it is something that has popped in my head during the rare times I think about her.

Add me to the people who feel sad for her...it's always hard for me to watch people struggle with bad choices...I don't necessarily think we need to persecute them for those choices...

I don't feel bad for her at all. If she really wants to be left alone to live a "normal" life, then quit using the media to sell your stuff. She's the one who put her relationship in the public domain with that stupid show. Is it any wonder that the tabloids love her, she made her private life public, for pete's sake she even announced her pregnancy on Letterman! Heck she even mentioned her new baby clothing line on that train wreck of an interview.

if she wants out of the public spotlight and away from the paparazzi, then move back to louisiana, and live a boring life, don't do anything that would get your picture taken.

But there's no excuse for some of the things she's done. I know lots of young mothers (some who are completely clueless) and even they know better than to drve with their infants on their laps....

I was amazed at how often she looked away when talking about her marriage and other items. "She is so happy" that she cannot lie while looking at a person. I would feel really bad for her if she didnt look like a hoochie last night.

We were laughing at her, Dh wondered if she had "come from her corner" right before the interview. My DD does her own hair and makeup better on dress up days than Brittney did.

For pete's sake!!! She is suppose to be helping her image with this interview with Matt Lauer. GET RID OF THE GUM!!! Popping gum during an interview is just so tacky!!! I wish that someone would tell her that she is almost popping out of that top too. :sad2:

You can change your location, but not who you are. White Trash will always be white trash. :drinking:

I couldn't even finish reading the transcript it was like reading an interview with a 12 year old. Now I'm sorry, I'm sure she's a nice girl and very talented but read the part about how Kevin left a "pregnant girlfriend and small child" for her. Talk about not taking responsibility.
