Did you try to hit up the Le Creuset outlet at Assembly Row in Somerville? It's a short walk from my daughter's house (and several good coffee shops....and a Mike's Pastry if you happen to need a cannoli....and even a good running path!)
Given you are so early in your training, doing the 3 mi was probably a good call for "head" reasons if nothing else. Not sure so much if it had been longer followed the next day with a long run. Have fun at D23!
A Le Creuset outlet? I would get in so much trouble there.
Costco was selling like 87 piece sets last year too for like $5k. But that included a bunch of utensils.![]()
it didn't look exciting. Like spatulas, serving spoons, etc. All black iirc.Okay now I need to see what utensils!![]()
I definitely want to see the Steam punk Merida costume! I love her universe I have that muse set as well. I hope you have a great timeAs I make my way to Anaheim, I thought I'd do a check in before things get crazy.
Dopey Training Week 2
Monday:
rest3 miles M tempo
This was meant to be Sunday but... so I went ahead and did it Monday.
Tuesday: 2 miles LR
I finally rotated the Topos back in. Felt OK during the run, but that night and next morning some mild PF pain returned. Damn! I guess it was the shoes. I'm going to find another pair of Ghost Max while the old model is still on sale and available.
Wednesday: Strength training
Nothing to report.
Even though it's early, it does feel good not to have missed any workouts. And since I ended up taking my biggest suitcase for costumes, Disney Dress Shop outfits and potential goodies I'll be taking home, I went ahead and tossed in my running gear. Just in case.
My D23 plan...
Thursday: Fly in. Disneyland.
I left my house at 3:45am Eastern and land in LA at noon Pacific. I do have a DL park reservation, though I'll miss most of the D23 Day activities. I've got late lunch/ early dinner booked at Carnation Cafe assuming I'm awake.
Friday: Day 1, Muppet panel. Honda Center. Wardrobe: Orange Bird dress.
I'm a bit terrified that the shopping VQ window opens at 4am and they're allowing people to line up at the entrance at 5am (it opens at 9). I don't need to be there until noon for my panel, so I've got a res at Great Maple for 8:45 and I'll wander over after I'm done. This is my first expo so I'll just see where the day takes me.
Saturday: Day 2, tbd except Honda Center. Wardrobe: Steampunk Merida costume.
I've got no set plans, but I do want to catch the cosplay meetup photo if I can. I've got backup park reservations each day but the costume will make that tricky on Saturday.
Sunday: Day 3, tbd except Honda Center. Redeye flight home. Wardrobe: Her Universe top and skirt set with the Hercules Muses.
I'll get kicked out of the hotel in the afternoon (fingers crossed for late checkout), but the panel that night is Legends and it starts at 5. I'll need to get back, change, and get my bags checked at the desk before I go. May grab a park dinner before I head to LAX. Thankfully I was able to upgrade and the plane has lie flat seats!
I'll try to post some over the event if it isn't too crazy.
Enjoy D23As I make my way to Anaheim, I thought I'd do a check in before things get crazy.

We have 2 Le Creuset dutch ovens that we LOVE. I have a wish list of other items I want to buy, but they'll have to wait until we redo our kitchen, since we have no room right now.I was hoping to! I'm kind of new to the whole cooking thing and we were finally ready to invest in some nice cookware.
Story time if anyone cares for the background...
DH and I never cooked much for the last 20+ years. We lived in a city, right downtown in the middle of a ton of great restaurants and worked long hours. We went out ALL the time, even during Covid. But when we moved to Vermont and out in the country, we knew we had to start cooking more. So we signed up for Hello Fresh, thinking it would be a bridge to take us to cooking for ourselves. It definitely has been, but we also still really like the options and quality of ingredients, so we get a box every other week and supplement with the amazing farm share veggies and fresh small farm proteins available here.
But in our year of cooking most meals at home, we've worn out our meager selection of pots and pans, we know what we use and what we need, and we are ready to invest in something that will really last. I did my research and made a wish list of Le Creuset items that we were going to buy, and it wasn't a short one! Thankfully Williams-Sonoma had the bulk of them, though we did order to get the right color for most of them. I wasn't kidding when I said I want to march into that outlet next time we're there (assuming it's open) with my receipt and make a scene ala Pretty Woman!
