Who did MVMCP on a sold out night?

I did, the last night. I would do it again. I had a touring plan, stuck to it, and got to see everything that we wanted to see, great viewing spots, rides, etc with little wait. There were a lot of people, but I think we were always ahead of them.

We were at MVMCP on the 20th....we had a great time. We got to MK at 4:30, did pics with Minnie and Mickey in front of the flower garden and then proceeded to make it through all of Fantasyland. After that, we got in for the T'was the night before Christmas show, and did most of Tomorrowland. We got our pics done and then found a place for the parade. The crowds were more than I thought they'd be but we still had a great time. It was our first and probably only trip to WDW, but I'd do the MVMCP again on a sell-out night.

We did it on Friday, Dec. 9th, which was sold out. It was my first MVMCP so I can't compare it to another, but it wasn't that bad. We didn't go on a lot of rides though, because I knew we would be coming back to MK several more times during our trip. I really wanted to concentrate on the Christmas activities and we saw everything. My 13 year old daughter wasn't too happy about not going on rides, but my husband took her on Space Mountain and there was hardly any wait. I loved the Christmas Party and the hot chocolate and cookies were very good also.

Thanks for your replies. We will be there next year Dec 19-27. Starting to plan our itinerary. This will be our third year in a row to vacation at Disney World. However, we have never been at Christmas. My family and friends think I am crazy. :rotfl:

Not so worried about doing the rides. How are the shows?

The shows are great. Nothing at Disney is done half-a$$ed.

The shows were very good. Loved Twas the Night Before Christmas and the show on the castle stage (can't remember the name) was also very good. Lot's of singing and dancing. I know what you mean about people making fun of you for going to Disney year after year. I have been there April of 2003, June of 2004, June of 2005 and December 2005 (and many other times). I don't care what anyone else thinks. I love Disney and know that I will be entertained from start to finish and whole time I'm there. This was my first trip at Christmas and I absolutely loved it. I keep thinking how am I going to get back there next Christmas, as my daughter (my youngest) will be a freshman in high school and I know that I won't be able to pull her out of school. That is why we did it this year while she was still in middle school. I'm thinking the week of Thanksgiving, but I know it will be very crowded. I don't think I would be able to go and not bring her with me. It was hard enough leaving my boys at home - well one was away at college and the other is a teacher and couldn't take the time off. My oldest, the teacher, is a Disney nut and I've got to figure out how to take a Christmas trip with him!!

We have been at sold out parties that seemed to be uncrowded and we rode everything! We have also been to sold out parties that were packed like the one on the 18th. If that happens just enjoy the parade, shows, ambiance-especially snow on Main street. It is worth it. The cookies were better this year.

Tammi67, You're right. Disney goes all out. I should have known the shows would be great.

I love Disney shows. They are so magical. I will have to put MVMCP on my have to do list.

carol-lamb, I know what you mean about taking your daughter out of school. We did that this year in October. My oldest in 5th grade hated doing all the make-up work.

We went on a sold out night last year. It didn't seem crowded to us at all! We walked onto all the rides we wanted to do. We waited around for the second parade because it was supposed to be "less crowded", but we still got seats along the parade route about 45 minutes before it started. I REALLY wanted to see the parade though!

Would I do it again? Absolutely! We're planning our December 2006 vacation now, with a night for the Christmas Party.

Went to the 18th Party. Initially, right before the first parade, I thought it was the most people I had ever seen in one place. However, once we got past Main Street it was great. Everyone waiting for the parade so we did alot of the rides and things in other parts of MK. We waited all of ten minutes for the tea cups, speedway and the Astro Orbitor ride. I would do it again in a heart beat. We went to the second parade and had our choice of seats!

Sold out for the mvmcp is no big deal, as far as crowds are concerned. The number of tickets sold is waaay less than half the capacity of MK. That way everyone can experience Christmas at MK instead of worrying about lines, etc. If someone sees a big crowd, it's just because everyone wanted to do the same thing at the same time as they did.

If you have a chance to go to the party go and have a great time...

Merry Christmas!!!
