Who to replace Paula if she's thrown off the show? Nicole Ritchie! I think she might lose her gig on The Simple Life, and she'd be hysterical, because she's so inane! Can't you just see it? Contestant finishes singing, Nicole glances over and says, "That was hot..." Throw it to Simon and Randy to try to come up with something meaningful...

I only watched the last 10 minutes of the show and didn't believe a second of it. "She broke my heart...boo hoo hoo" What a load of crock!

That guy is so scummy-looking, I can't imagine Paula needs to settle for someone like that!

He's only after the publicity. What a loser. And even if it was true, what's the big deal? Who cares? It doesn't affect the voting.

Wow! I couldn't disagree more. If even 1/10th of this is true, I think she should be canned. If she had ANY contact with him (outside of her normal duties) while he was on the show then that is a conflict of interest. It is not fair to the other contestants. I understand that the judges do not decide who stays and who goes but they can sway the viewers.

I would love to hear Paula come out and say "I DID NOT have ANY contact with this kid while he was on the show." Of course, she could be lying, but I would at least like to hear her say that. Instead, all she says is "I can't justify answering to this. He has lied in the past."

One thing that always strikes me as funny with celebrities is that they RARELY deny things. They say things like the other person has a shady past or is only trying to get attention but they don't deny anything. If someone accuses me of something I didn't do, I would be shouting the truth from the rooftops.

Your not the only one that thought that - what I caught was that one of the songs that Correy sang on AI, Constantine also sang - coincidence??? I hope so, I really really hope it's just a coincidence since I've heard others do the same song year after year but after Correy saying that Paula picked his songs because she knew which ones would go over with the other judges........

I watched the special and thought during it that ABC wouldn't of done a complete hour special it they didn't have PROOF - I would HOPE that ABC would of thoroughly investigated the allegations before airing them on national TV.

The phone records are reliable in my opinion - they show a number that was called over and over and they did talk - now was he a stalker or something more - I have no idea.

I also thought that the Idols giving Paula bouquets of flowers last night was related to the Primetime special also.

I think its 2-fold...Is Corey using this for publicity? Of course...Hes a terrible singer, not sure why anyone would buy his cd otherwise. However, I think it DID happen. I think when he got booted from Idol, he knew he wouldn't get brought back, he went about his business, and when he now got to the point of needing some free publicity, he used it. Now, theres no actual proof they slept together, but thats a whole bunch of phone calls for 2 people who just met. I think its true.

ABC is no Weekly World News. They are credible. And with all the threats they had from Paula's lawyers leading up to the airing of the show, no way would they have aired it unless the evidence was believable. And that includes verifying phone records. 130 minute phone calls are pretty damning evidence. That's not a call and hang up. That's a long, long conversation, and there was more than one.

I do believe Paula improperly coached him. I do believe Corey waited until it was most advantageous to him to come out with it. Why is what he is doing any less smarmy than what she did? IMO, coaching him to get him to win is worse than a sexual affair. After all, they were both consenting adults, it's not like he was a minor.

He didn't. He had phone bills from his parents' house in TN and his grandfather's house in CA, with calls to and from Paula's phone. Those were the phone bills in question. This is easily verifiable and I don't see that ABC would have used it as evidence if it could not be backed up.

Regarding Paula leaving the show, I thought I read a while back (before all this came out) that this was going to be her last season anyway because she wanted to try and re-establish a recording career. Anyone else remember hearing something like that?

Voice mail message: That sounded EXACTLY like Paula, without a doubt. Why would she tell him not to speak to the press? Already, she's lost all credibility to me.

Phone records: I doubt the show would present these without having verified the numbers. A Sprint store employee also said they came into the store to purchase the phones. Even if the employee is lying, what's up with the calls, Paula?

It would be a completely different ballgame, if he were accusing her of skewing the number of votes.

I don't think Paula should lose her job based on his claims. Look at this thread. People are split, should someone lose their job even if the "evidence" still leaves people with doubt that it even happened?

Also, am I the only one who did not think the voice on the voicemail sounded like Paula?

But how do we know that he WOULDN'T have won the competition? He got booted for reasons totally unrelated to this scandal. It's pure speculation to say one way or another. Although I concede that with Rueben, Clay, Kim L., and Josh in the mix, it's very doubtful that he would have come out on top.

As for Paula losing her job over this, if after a full investigation, it's shown that she did indeed "coach" Corey, then yes, I think she should be fired. Doesn't matter if she slept with him or not. It's a clear conflict of interest. And if I made a mistake OF THAT MAGNITUDE at my job, then yes, I should be fired too.

I think Paula's usefulness to the show is over anyway, but that's due to my opinion that she panders to certain contestants and slights others.

ETA - It sure sounded like Paula on the voice mail recording to me!
