Who believes Corey Clark's claims?

I didn't watch the whole thing--I fell asleep. But the during the first twenty minutes, something bugged me about Corey. He just doesn't seem like a credible guy. It seems like he is trying to make something out of nothing and draw attention to himself and his own career. Just my opinion though.

Ewwww...that guy just looks skuzzy, imo. And he could not be a less credible source, he's got an arrest record, which he lied about, and he's got a huge financial incentive to lie about this. Even if he is telling the truth, you don't kiss and tell. It's a scummy thing to do.

If she was involved with this, shame on her. Her actions may put the future of the show in jeopardy. However, he does seem to me to be an opportunist, looking for some fame and fortune. The show attracts millions and if he is writing a book, imagine the amount of money he stands to gain. There are probably many, many people who watch the show and would love to read what he has to say. Pretty bad and discouraging..

I certainly think he is coming forward to promote himself. I also think there was a relationship between the two.

The thing I find the most disturbing is the advice she gave to him. If they had just had an affair that would be one thing, but to advise him on song choice or wardrobe is just WRONG!

I don't know if it's true or not. Certainly the cell phone records look damning. I'm not impressed with a man who kisses and tells. My DS18 picked up on that right away. He wanted to know what's in it for him(Corey).

Here's what I think:
1) There may have been something improper here. Maybe not. His description of her house didn't do much for me. But here you have a man who is looking to promote his image as a street smart bad a$$--what would be badder than sleeping with an AI judge?

2) I don't buy his "gotta come clean" statement either. If he wanted to come clean, why didn't he do that 2 years ago--oh yeah, his new CD wasn't ready then.

3) According to the other contestants they never suspected a thing until PrimeTime told them. It seems to me that if you are living and working in such intimate spaces, that out of 32 people somebody would have seen or heard something. It was only after John Quinones gave the guy's name and ONE contestant said, oh yeah, I thought it was him.

4) While his parents may truly be clueless about this whole thing--after all, this is a 22yo man, not a boy; what grown man shares his sexual exploits with his monther? ewww---his friends were definitely cashing in their 15 minutes of fame.

Do you suppose he had tried to blackmail her into paying him money and she refused? I think the best thing Paula can do is deny, deny, deny while AI does their investigation.

Ewwww, I wondered the same thing! :crazy2:

That mother looked like she was waiting for her paycheck too, imo.

they are interviewing him and his family right now on GMA. He is just stupid! the whole family!! I have never watched AI nor do I know him....but I do not buy it!

He's a dirtbag- looks to me like they've all got their money grubbing hands out looking for something!

When they are the top 32 do they each get a private room or share a room? It seemed like when I watched this year they shared rooms. So if that was the case wouldn't his room mate see him coming and going at all hours?
I do think something went on but not sure what.

I dont even know what your all talking about, but I believe him

I do believe him. I think he may be exaggerating some things, and he's definately revealing it for selfish reasons, but I think that they did have some sort of secret relationship. He seems like a nasty crack head to me. I think he's using this for the money and the publicity. He's a creep, but I think Paula should've known better. And EWWWWW, couldn't she have picked someone better? In the words of Napoleon Dynamite, Gross!

::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes::

If the claims are valid or not, he is a worthless two-bit punk out to make a dollar, nothing more. He is trying to profit off of scandal rather than his own talent, of which he has none.

Corey seems about as slimy as they get but the phone records are interesting. I think that there needs to be more proof though.

I think that ABC is smarmy for doing this story too.

You know, I remember one of the judges, can't remember if it was Randy or Simon, but it was said a few weeks ago that Paula had the most 'contact' with the singers...she was always backstage with them and coaching them and giving them huge amounts of support. Could that taped phone message have had anything to do with when Cory was being sent home for his criminal conduct? I mean, Paula could have been calling him and telling him to just keep his mouth shut about the charges that would get him sent home.

I really think that he is just coming forward now to promote his book. I mean, come on...that all happened quite awhile ago. Why didn't he come out sooner? May have missed that info since I fell asleep last night about 10:30.
So, maybe Paula has had some more than might be right contact with the contestents, but she's out there anyway!!! And it certainly didn't do him much good. Now, if it had been Constantine coming out with this, I could imagine that...but Cory? If it's true, then Paula should be charged with extremely bad taste in boys!!!!

I totally agree with this. However smarmy though, they were smart. After all, we all watched it, didn't we? I bet the ratings were through the roof!

This is how I view Corey's "evidence" in this case. IMO, this was one of the worst excuses for "investigative journalism" I have ever seen.

1. The phone bills - yes, PTL should have verified this was her number... but how do we know these are actual phone bills? (I can sit her at work and with a little time make a replica phone bill) They never showed it long enough to verify. AND if they verified it, why didn't they say so on the show?

2. The phone she got him - their evidence for this was "a Sprint employee told PTL that Abdul and clark came into the store together" and then showed a picture of a Sprint building. Where is this Sprint person from? How do we know he/she's credible? How do we know that actually happened?!?! And if it did, I'm expecting this "Sprint employee" just got some quick cash.

3. The voice mail (apparently the most incriminating) - why was there no time stamp? If I were doing this piece and this voicemail was REALLY in regards to the affair, I would be certainly playing the part where it says "Message received today at 8:09 a.m." If they played that I would have considered it more. Who's to say this wasn't 2 years ago about his pending allegations? Don't you think Paula and AI's lawyers would be stopping anything like that immediately!?!? That voice mail proved NOTHING!!! If she would have said "Don't talk to the press about our relationship" then there ya go! But she DIDN'T!!!

There was not one piece of evidence that would ever hold up in court (not saying that it's going to court, but if it was a court case) and not one piece of evidence was anything more than spin and hearsay.... and I spent 4 years of my life making the spin and hearsay, so I can spot it a mile away.

I think Corey is absolutely ridiculous and PTL should be ashamed of even airring this show.

Good point. :scratchin

I think its 2-fold...Is Corey using this for publicity? Of course...Hes a terrible singer, not sure why anyone would buy his cd otherwise. However, I think it DID happen. I think when he got booted from Idol, he knew he wouldn't get brought back, he went about his business, and when he now got to the point of needing some free publicity, he used it. Now, theres no actual proof they slept together, but thats a whole bunch of phone calls for 2 people who just met. I think its true.
