She is delusional. As are the people giving her claims any credence.

Can the parents sue her for defamation after her accusations of sexual abuse? She tells so may lies that even she cannot keep them straight.

There's something off about the parents too. They opened themselves up to a bunch of questions when they came forward. We know this women ended up raising her brother as her son for some reason. There was other stuff about the Dad being a religious fanatic and stuff about abuse and who knows what else. I don't think they came out of this thing smelling like a rose either.

I believe the bro' has a court date here in Colorado for sex abuse against a family member (I recall reading that somewhere).

I wanted to mention a bit about blackface. The makeup was put on, and then often a show or skit would be done with lots of extremely ugly racial sterotypes and prejudices. If you look up minstrelsy or blackface there is historical info on the net.
This old school stuff was for "entertainment" if you can believe that. As in many things in history, it wasn't the finest hour of respectability.

FWIW, I see little culturally respectable behavior in her choices. She seems to use AA culture to grab attention and some great unique job opportunities all the while spinning yarn after yarn. Pretty unthinkable stuff, and yet, she seems to revel in it.

I saw an awesome article posted. (Maybe here a few pages back.)

Basically ripping her. She, a white girl posing as a black girl is stealing one of the few coveted positions that black people have the best chance for. A poster here called the article racist, but I think it has credence.

If a member of a majority race passes themselves off as a minority member and garners a position where their appearance as a minority is most beneficial, then they did not help the minority. They hindered them. Someone lost that job to her. Was she given an extra edge because of a spray tan? If so, then she did nothing for equality. She stole a position.

Can the parents sue her for defamation after her accusations of sexual abuse? She tells so may lies that even she cannot keep them straight.

Unfortunately, evidence would not be available so hard to prove or disprove.

I are that Al Sharpton has shamed the parents for outing her.

Not to change the subject.... But last night my husband and I were discussing exactly what NAACP stood for, so we googled it on my phone. Turns out he was right, but that's not what shocked the hell outta us. I'm not telling anyone to do this and if you're easily offended (or not even easily offended) DO NOT go here.

We very innocently Googled "What does NAACP stand for" and looked at the first website that poped up. Maybe it will be different for others, but it came up both times for us, and it was the most appalling thing I've ever seen!! Genuinely made me sad for the human race.

I think that this woman is delusional and full of it! She has lied about every aspect of her life! clearly she is a pathological liar. I went to the university website that she worked for and it says that she was not a professor, but a part time instructor. They also stated that they don't know if she submitted her imaginary job title to the schools database or if it was an admin error! So, she is black, and a university professor!! what next? I think if it is socially accepted that people who were born a Man or Woman can change to what they want to be why not if she really feels like she wants to be black then do it. Some people have said in the past that Michael Jackson was attempting to turn himself White when he was doing all that skin lightening and nose job and hair straightening. Now what differs from him is he never came out and said that is what he wanted to do. This lady finally after deceiving many people(which is totally wrong) is coming out and saying she wants to live as a black women.

The problem with this is society's mores come and go and change with the wind. We are who/what we are and saying I'm a purple pony who only eats cotton candy doesn't make it so. And for you to chime in and tell everyone that..Yes, she is a purple pony who only eats cotton candy is just as nutty as me saying it.

You are saying two different things. To me, they're all purple ponies eating cotton candy. You are who/what you are and all the saying you're something else doesn't change the reality. I am all about protecting privacy and what not, but I sure as heck won't lie about ME and who *I* am so my kid can pretend she is a unicorn. I won't deny parentage.

her parents did NOT come forward with this-they were approached by one of our local media members in the course of gathering information for an article on Rachel which had been triggered by her allegations and police reports back in February of hate mail at the local naacp p.o. box. the reporter located the parents, asked to interview them-and they answered the questions honestly. as for the allegations against the parents I suspect that by answering that reporter's questions they've opened themselves up to scrutiny as well.

btw-LOCAL UPDATE..............the city of Spokane will be taking action to remove Rachel and 2 other ombudsman panel members as early as today. a whistleblower complaint was received naming the 3 back in april, and the investigation which began in may found substantiations of harassment and intimidation against city employees, bias against law enforcement, and breaching confidential information by releasing the names and identities of individuals involved or potentially involved in police misconduct investigations.

I have an open mind about the parents. I can't imagine what it must be like to have an adult daughter that comfortably lives most every aspect of her life in various untruths. I wouldn't believe her if she told me the sun was shining.

I'm glad Spokane has stepped up and started the process to remove her from the ombudsman panel. She really needs to step away and take time to tend to self. I hope she accesses some professional care and guidance.

I have to be honest in that I don't understand it. I think there are a lot of family issues going on here and I don't totally understand her parents motivation for coming forward now. She may be confused as she was raised with for adopted brothers who were black, and I believe they were her only siblings so I can understand her being confused about her racial identity and maybe thinking she really was black but didn't look it so she altered her appearance to look like she was. I just hope she finds peace with her family. I don't like watching family drama unfold on TV.
