Whispering Canyon ?

We went there for the first time last year. I had read so much about it and was really looking forward to it. We had a really bad experience there and won't go back. The servers there can "make it or break it." We got a bad server who didn't want to do any of the fun antics that others were doing. It just wasn't a very pleasant meal. But I have heard many others who loved it.

We don't like it. When we wnet the food was aweful and we won't be going back.

We love WCC. On the flip side of what the other poster commented, we didn't get any antics and that was OK by us. We were actually sat in the far back of the restaurant, sort of separated from the rest of it. Our table was right in front of a giant fireplace.

Though you could hear everything that was going on, it was fairly quiet and we found it romantic. We loved the skillet and will continue to do WCC on every trip.

Most restaurants are hit or miss. There will always be people who like them and who hate them.

I just read your other post . Sorry to hear there experience but it can happen. I have been here about 3 or 4 x's and never a problem . Same with my parents. We all keep going back to.

We went in 12/07. The restaurant is a lot of fun.My grandkids had a great time. Our server was just ok. He was trying hard but made a lot of errors on the items we ordered. The food was 50/50. Some of the items were very good and some were barely edible. My ribs were very dry and served with no sauce. The pork sausage they had was some of the best I have ever had.

We've been 3 times now, and our family likes it. It's a nice break during the day we go to Magic Kingdom - and the kids like taking the boat ride over from MK to the Wilderness Lodge.

We like the food, and love the bottomless milk shakes, especially on a hot day.

The "fun" with the servers will depend on who you get - and what kind of day they are having. We've had some that will definitely make you laugh, and others that pretty much just bring you your meal. We've found that if you joke a little with them, they'll see that you're accepting of having a little fun.

Hope that helps!

We were there in December and had a great time.

We are going back in September. We had an excellent waiter who made our time there alot of fun!

We have done this twice. Once with the antics and once without. They really play up to the kids which is appropriate. The food is just so so. We will not return to this place. It is not a destination it seems. I would rather eat elsewhere. It is not bad, just not a place that you crave to return to if you know what I mean.

Sounds great to me, i cant wait!! The endless milkshakes sound great, but i'd probably only drink 1 if that. I hope i get the table by the fireplace.
I'm going for the skillet at dinner, mmmm....not so much for the antics, it'd be funny to see it happen to others, i hope not to us, lol. It looks like a nice place!

Our family visited WCC this past January and really liked it. We had no "antics" but the servers held a horse race with all of the kids (mostly preschoolers) in the restaurant. Our 4 and 2 year olds loved it. The food and service was good. We will go again.

We loved it. Took my MIL on this trip. She devoured the peel and eat shrimp, we loved the pulled pork, corn on the cob, salad...it was all incredible. I had some mango smoothie thing and it was AWESOME. Loved the food, loved the games (ask for ketchup-my 5 yr old still talks about that). The Wilderness Lodge is beautiful, so it's worth a trip just to go and look around. We'll definately go back next trip.

We ate breakfast there and loved it :thumbsup2 !

We will be having dinner there in August.

Great food, fun atmosphere and nice decor.

You will hear a TON of negative reviews, but if you don't try it this trip, you will probably try it next. And if not, won't you always wonder what YOU thought of WCC? At least that is how I looked at it when I booked. Almost everyone gave negative reviews, but I wanted to try it for myself.

I booked all of our dinner reservations and my family was VERY disappointed in that one. Below average server who reeked of cigarette smoke and hardly came by our table, and then when everyone was running around with ketchup she said, "Oh yeah, do you guys need ketchup?"

Just not a good experience, the family said it was their least favorite of the trip. Will not return. The only positive was the cinnamon banana dessert thing.

Still, you will get many positive and negative reviews from either side, but I'd say try it for yourself. I was disappointed that I went but you might be one of the lucky ones who has a great experience! Good luck and let us know what you decide!

for those who have gone, does it help to ask for a 'good ' waitperson?
I know you can do that at 50's prime time,

We were able to walk in right when they opened when we were there in October 2006. Our server didn't do any of the "antics" that I've read about. It was very quiet. I think maybe half the tables were being used by the time we left. She kept our drinks filled, which is the most important thing to my DH. We are planning for it to be our last meal of our December trip, and I can't wait to dig into that skillet.

I enjoyed the breakfast skillet more than the dinner skillet, and everyone in the place seemed to be having a great time when I was there :goodvibes

I don't know if I'd make a special trip for it, but I was staying at WL so it was handy. I plan to have breakfast there in September while I'm staying at VWL.
