Hi all. First Timer here. Have WCC booked on 9/22 7:20pm this is a off day for us but this time is still a little late for us. Keep checking online and nothing from 5pm on is availiable I think it is strange because I read a lot of BAD reviews on this place???????????????????? Just wondering what others think???????:confused3

Our family went last month, and we loved Whispering Canyon. Our kids ages 4 and 7 had a blast, the adults thought the antics were awesome, and the food was really good. We had the skillet and really enjoyed it. We will definitely go back.

It's popular. I've read as many good reviews of the food as I have bad reviews and people (especially children) love the theming. It's not surprising you can't get an early reservation there seeing as you're there during free dining.

My family LOVES WCC. We take 1 or 2 of our grandkids every trip and they always request to go there. Fun atmosphere and good food. My husband loves the skillet and I love the meatloaf. Last time we went to WCC we had a 7:15 ressie, we rode the boat from MK there and back and the great thing about having a ressie at 7:15, we got out at about 8:45 and got to watch the fireworks on our boat ride back to MK! It was amazing! Have fun and enjoy WCC!

It's very popular -- although after eating there in September I don't know why. We did not like it at all. The food in the skillet, and the food served prior (salad and cornbread) was awful (DH got sick on the meat). The service was awful too. We had a 5:20 ressie on a Monday night. We did not sit down to a table until after 6:00 p.m.

So if you really want to eat there, I'd keep trying to get an earlier seating or you could be in for a long night.

It's really fun and has a great energy! The kids love it, we are planning on dining there this November!

The skillet was decent (messy though!), the chocolate cake was good :thumbsup2 - bff's dd7 had a great time; so much so that she insisted that they go back on their next trip so she could show her dad (they did)!

We did have to wait a bit for our table, but unfortunately that's to be expected during free dining.

We were regular diners at the WCC, it was the antics of the servers that kept us coming back. Last 2 trips I noticed a marked decrease in food quality and last trip it was so bad I didn't eat it. We finally had to face the fact that no matter how much my daughter loves running around with the ketchup, it's just not worth it.

So I am going to guess that it's popular based on how it used to be, if you had asked me 3 years ago I would have said it was a wild place to dine with mediocre food. Now I saw it's a place with bad food and dumbed down server antics.

The first time I went there it was so fun, so funny, really good food, had a blast. I talked it up to my family and took them back the next year and it was boring, dull server, food wasn't good, and we just wanted to leave. I hope it's back to being fun and good again

Keep trying. For my original reservations we were booked for 7:40 p.m. I called back again (maybe 2 weeks later) and got a 4:15. Then a few weeks after that I checked online and got a 5:40 pm. I finally happy with that time. :lmao:

We were there in March (it was our first trip) and we ate there, on my 40th Bday and we liked it.
The food was good, our server very pleasent and plenty of fun!

I've never been, but am planning on going my next trip. I think as with most disney restaurants, you just have to see for yourself. You are going to see a mixed ammout of good and bad reviews for just about every restaurant in Disney simply because there are alot of people on here. So go and have fun!

DH and I were there in June and had the skillet. It was our first time on the DDP and we loved it. The skillet was good and the dessert was good.

WCC is amazing. I was there for dinner last night, it's my favourite WDW restaurant, been many times. I always get the skillet and I would highly recommend it. Great service and great food, don't go if you like a quiet atmosphere.

I would just try going at 5 and tell them you would like to wait how long would ot be. I did that onetime, waited 15 minutes for a table and was seated...the food is good, the waitstaff was great. Hope yo u get in the time you want. I have decided that i will eat counter service during the day but leave the parks for supper. I wanted Ohana, they said the only available was 9:20, I think I might try to walk in and just see:yay:

We will be eating there for the first time next month. I orginally had a reservation for a Monday and then tried to get a Tuesday reservation. It took about a week, but I finally got one.

I have been skeptical about the food because many have posted that they got sick on the food. However, I got sick on the food at Tony's Town Square and no one else in my family did, so maybe it was just me. Maybe it was just one person who got sick because they were coming down with something anyway.

Just keep tyring for reservations. Please change all the time. Good luck.

Lunch experience at WCC also involved waiting an extensive period of time around 30 minutes and once seated you could see their were only seating guest in half of the restaurant. We had the skillet and it was greasy and salty, the two ingredients used to add flavor to tastless foods. Our server had about six tables and spent most of her time entertaining one table had actually had a checklist of gimmicks they want to see. Disney had also served them so many drinks they were clearly drunk too...loud, slurd speech, etc.

Service to all her other tables were non-existent. Getting four to five melting milkshakes when I was paying the bill indicated a gag never performed since she ignored all the other tables. No refills of anything was what everyone else got too...server was clueless. She was tipped according to the level of service she provided. The bottom line: average food at best, sporadic service, consider it lucky to be seated around your ADR time, dine early at lunch or dinner recommended. Hope for a good experience.

If you decide to do this, just be prepared that they may be unable to seat you early. Since all the restaurants are so busy due to free dining, if you arrive at 5pm for a 7:20pm reservation, you may luck out and get seated early, but it is more likely that you will have a 2+ hour wait.

Somewhere on the disboards, there is a list of funny things to ask for while you are there, and the staff acts crazy! It is rally funny. Can someone post a link, or does anyone know what I am talking about? i.e., like asking for Ketchup, or a large coke or something like that??
