Hello Everyone: I'm planning on running the WDW Marathon, Jan 7th, and we're staying at WL Villas. My DD8 princess: is having her 9th birthday the day before the WDW marathon, January 6th. Would WCC be a good place to go for her b-day dinner? Do they do anything special for b-days? Would she be the center of attention too much because she sometimes gets a little shy - but only sometimes. I thought it would be good to turn in early the night before the marathon (I need to be on the bus to the starting line around 3-4am on Sunday, January 7th), and WCC would be a good easy place to have the b-day dinner.

Thanks for the help.

Yes - have the birthday noted on your ADR. When you get to the podium, mention your DD is a bit shy. I bet they will let her sit while the whole restaurant will sing her happy birthday. You could ask for a simple cupcake with a candle for her. Also ask for a wooden nickel for your DD at Whispering Canyon Cafe as a sovenier (it's free).

What they did at our table (not a birthday) - the CM server threw our straws and napkins at us. When my DH tried to get our servers attention for the bill, he asked politely - she would not turn around, When my DH yelled out her name - she said sure sir, I'll ring up your bill for you. The server was not mad at all that my DH yelled out her name - it was like she was expecting it.

For less attention - Do not ask for another color of crayon, Do not ask for ketchup, Do not ask for a refill of soda.

The food is very good and the place is fun - even for shy folks.

We had a party of 16 and it was my cousin's 6 year old's bday (he was turning 7). It was our last dinner together and his bday celebration dinner. It was very memorable. Now I have heard antics at WCC have been toned down but at the time they sang to him and did a funny bit with the cupcake. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: We still talk about it to this day as one of the most interesting dinners! Have fun!
