I've never been to WCC. I'm looking at going with my bf in October before MNSSHP for a late lunch. Opinions? Reviews?

Thanks! :thumbsup2

the week of June 22nd for a late lunch. The steak was very good. I saw many people order the skillet, which is a giant skillet (go figure)..of a few types of meat, served family style. This is not something I would get, but I saw it on lots of tables. The staff was great, very attentive. They offer milkshakes w/free refills, but honestly I didn't think my chocolate one was so tasty. The kids enjoyed themselves, as they had "pony" races around the room, and played the hokey-pokey. They were also in for a big suprise when they asked for ketchup! If you are looking for a "fun", loud restaurant, I would say go. If you are looking for a quiet, romantic dinner, run away!;)

We eaten at WCC twice, and will go back every trip. We got the skillet, and it was the best!! It had something for everybody, so if you liked the ribs but your spouse likes the steak, you just reorder what suits you. The ribs were AWESOME, and I am not a rib person. DW ordered the endless milkshake, and really enjoyed it. Our kids had a blast.

There are also little gags that CM's play in addition to the normal 'KETCHUP!!!!'. I asked for a larger tea, and CM brought me a half gallon jar! I tried to finish it, but no luck.

We have been there many times for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and it is a great place to eat. It a place that we eat once a trip.

Could you get a milkshake as your beverage on the DDP at Whispering Canyon? Or could you at least get it as your dessert? DH would be happy if you could do either of these things, he loves a good milkshake!

Thanks all, I think it'll be fun to start out our trip! The tentitive plan is to start out with a late lunch here and then over to MNSSHP!! :yay:

...now if only I can get flights to work out...

More opinions are always welcome :) And bangzoom part of the reason I looked into WCC was the milkshakes! We won't be on the DDP (we want to do F&W, so it just doesn't make sense!) but I think I've seen that you can get them as your beverage...yuM!

We have done this very thing and will be eating at 2pm and then head over for MNSSHP.We love WCC and this was my DS17 request before the party. You will love it, loud and lots of fun, we always get the skillet and it is the bomb !! The best mashed potatoes, real butter for the sweet cornbread and the roasted chicken is to die for. The last time we were there (last Sept.) they gave us milkshakes as our drink, if they do it for the dessert now it would be worth it since they are bottomless and they will refill with any flavor.

We love it for dinner!! The skillet is great!

We enjoyed it for an early dinner. I reviewed it in my dining report. The link is in my signature.

I read a lot of negative reviews about the WCC, but my wife and I wanted to try it anyway (we were there June 24th). The skillet was the favorite meal we've had at WDW. I'd say if you like the looks of the menu, give it a shot :goodvibes

Let me just say this..when I asked my daughter where she wants to celebrate her birthday meal at, she didn't waste anytime telling me Whispering Canyon. We went there last August, 08 and my DH, DD and myself never laughed so much as we did that night for dinner. We had an awesome server (Brittany) who fulfilled any expectations we could've ever had about that place. The food was excellent!! The milkshakes awesome..I think I drank three and a half..chocolate, strawberry and vanilla..so definitely give it a try. I really trust you will love it!!!:dance3::hug:

Ate there too weeks ago. Knew what to expect as I read many reviews - both pro and con. Put me down for a con! All 4 adults and 4 kids in our group thought the schtick was stupid and forced. Adult menu starts at 9 years old and food wasn't that good. I think the theme is grating and stale and wouldn't be suprised to see it get a makeover within the next year or so. Biergarten is another loud & rowdy place but we had a blast there, and the food was great to boot.

This was exactly the post I was looking for! I am also eating at WCC before the Halloween party on 9/18 and have read mostly bad reviews but it sounded so fun we wanted to try it anyways!

Quick questions for those who have gone to MNSSHP....our dinner at WCC is at 5:25pm... is that a good time to eat and make it over to MK for the party or should I go earlier? (this was the earliest I could get atm)

Thanks, you all are sooo helpful to noobs like me :)

Yes, bottomless milkshakes can be ordered in place of your beverage on the dining plan. I don't believe they offer it as a dessert.

We're not using a day's pass the day of the party, so we were hoping to get in shortly after they open the gates to the party go-ers, which in the past few years has been 4pm. I can make my ADR on Thursday, so I'm hoping to get a 2:30ish time. That way we can get into the MK shortly after 4 (and not be rushed!) and have time to do some rides before the party officially starts at 7.

If we were using a pass and doing another park (or MK) in the morning, then I'd probably look for an ADR around 5 like you. Personally, I'd still try and go a little earlier so you're not rushing to get over there by 7 (granted you can still get in after 7, but I want every moment of fun!) It's been my experience that most meals at Disney take around an hour to an hour and a half, so I think you're fine at 5:30 unless you have 8 people with you.

Put me down for a con as well. They seated my party of five at a 4-top, even though we had made an ADR for 5 two months before. I had read that some servers weren't into the antics, so that was fine, but as my husband said, "She should have been into serving us." She was the worst waitress we had the entire trip of 6 TS meals. We didn't order dessert and it still took about an hour and 20 minutes for the meal. My kids didn't get involved in the pony races or anything like that...the length of our meal was entirely due to having to wait for food and the check. If you are staying at WL and/or aren't in a hurry to get someplace, it's probably fine but I wouldn't make a special trip over for WCC again.
