We've never been to the Wilderness Lodge, so we were thinking of visiting to look around and then eat dinner at the Whispering Canyon Cafe.
Can you tell me more about this restaurant?
We have a 2 & 4 year old. Will we enjoy it?
Also, how do we get there from the Poly?
Thanks!

We went in September and we did not care for it. We thought the food was overrated (DH actually got sick eating the chicken and/or ribs from the skillet--the only two items I didn't touch because I didn't like the other stuff). We had better barbecue at Flame Tree at Animal Kingdom. We saw none of the antics that people talk about and service was terrible. We were there for 2 hours! I'm not sure how you'd get there (maybe taxi). We always rent a car and drive to the resorts when we have a meal planned. I'm sure someone will come on and let you know if there is a way to do it by boat or bus (I know buses do not go directly from resort to resort).

From the Poly, you can walk to the TTA and get a direct bus to WL.

The kids will have fun with the little activities they do through-out the night. We also do not think the food is all that great. We have found that it really depends on your waiter for any of the antics.

We have actually never had dinner there, but we've stayed at WL a few times so it was our natural choice for breakfast. If the other mealtimes are anything like that, I think your kids would love it. Again I don't know about dinner -- for breakfast I always ordered this ham/egg/cheese omelet which is delicious.

Be forewarned if you ask for ketchup... ;)

We went and didn't have any antics at all. Just felt like a regular meal to us. I would not go out of the way for it.

From the Poly you could also go to MK then take the boat over to WL.

Had lunch there on 1/7.. really depends on your waiter for the antics! DBF & I thought the food was pretty good. I had the southwestern chicken soup which I loved. The skillet was up to par, not bad by any means! Cornbread was warm & good, too.

This was our favorite during our last trip. My kids loved the stuff that goes on during the meal. My DD did the horse racing and my DS asked for catsup and loved what came next. We went for my bday so they had fun with that too. The food was really good. Kids loved the ribs and I loved the shrimp and chicken from the skillet. I recommend going.
