What are your thoughts on this restaurant? I just switched our ADR from Chef Mickey's to here. I switched because it is my boyfriend and I going on the trip and I think he may be a little annoyed with the napkin waving and singing at Chef Mickeys.

Also, how do we go about from getting to Port Orleans Riverside to Whispering Canyon Cafe? I am excited about seeing the Wilderness Lodge.

I am so excited. In one month, I will be at Disney!!:cool1:

We LOVE WCC, however, if you are looking to not wave your napkins, sorry, you're out of luck. You have to do it there too!!! And by the way, if you don't participate certain waiters or waitresses may make you do embarrassing things like ride the horse around the restaurant or something like that....We had the worst service on our trip in December, but went three other times with GREAT service and food.

I would either take the bus to MK then the boat to WL or take the boat to DTD then the bus to WL. (I have to warn you that the bus from DTD took us 45 minutes when we stayed at WL, don't know if it is better now, though.)

Thanks for the ideas. I think I would die of laughter if they made my boyfriend ride a horse around the restaurant!!
Ha.. this could be fun!

How is the food? I've heard about milkshakes. Can you get those on the DDP?

Well, the antics at WCC can be just as silly as Chef Mickeys. Both are truely geared towards kids, but the CMs at WCC have been known make an adult or two the subject of humor. If you ask for Ketchup they will have over 20 bottles of ketchup delivered to your table. Both restaurants can be silly for different reasons.

Not so sure your boyfriend would like this one. Just as much napkin waving and singing as Chef Mickey's, plus stick-pony races and banging of the dinner bell. And the waiters do pick on people, that's kind of the 'theme'. Very raucous, noisy place. If you're into participating in the antics, lots of people enjoy this place. If you think your boyfriend would want a quiet dinner or would be annoyed at being made to sing "I'm a little teapot" or wear a napkin hat, you definitely need to look elsewhere.

We ate there in January and were less than thrilled. Food was okay, service was okay but very slow at checking to see if we needed anything from our skillet refilled. There was some fun going on around us but most of it seemed a little forced. I had a hard time picking restaurants for my extremely picky husband and thought this would be a winner with him........not. Definitely not worth the price.

Whispering Canyon is one of the most entertaining resturaunts if you are looking for a fun family dinner atmosphere. I would preferably go there for breakfast rather than lunch or dinner just because of the fact that at their breakfast you aren't as inclined to stuff yourself.

We ate there last month and while it wasn't my first choice it ended up beign pretty good!
Most everyone got the feast at lunch with the all-you-can-eat ribs, chicken, and other fixins! I thought it was really good and would suggest it.
It was a bit rowdy, but very fun. I got chased around the restaurant with a spoon!
Hope you enjoy- come back and tell us how it was and if your boyfriend got picked on at all!

We ate there in August and loved it. My dd12 is a bit shy and the waiter made her stand up turn towards the rest of the restaurant, stuck straws in her bun, put a menu in one hand and a ketchup bottle in the other. Then the whole restaurant had to stand up and sing "The Star Spangled Banner" to the homemade statue of Liberty. It was a hoot. :rotfl2:
She wants to go back this trip.:thumbsup2
