Thanks for the great replies, everyone! My home is in a great neighborhood (I am moving for job reasons, otherwise, I'd live here forever!) so I'm not worried about getting some interest in the home. I like the idea of trying it with a flooring allowance and if it's not working, to just have the carpet replaced after a couple of weeks. I would clearly state in the listing that the house has a flooring allowance. I'm with the majority of you that if I was the one buying the house, I'd rather choose my own flooring.
I would absolutely HAVE to replace the carpet if it was hideous. But it's high quality, in good shape, and clean. It's just about the color to me. Hmmm... all things to think about. Thanks for the opinions!
