would you go Coronada springs in a water veiw or the animal kingdom with a pool veiw for $388 more ?
I was wondering if its worth the $388 for the resort? (this is for dec)
Thanks Rae

ETA: 8 nights Dec 7 to 15 (dh is hinting to the 16)
with a 7 year old and a 4 year old

i prefer AKL to CSR. CSR is too spread out for my tastes though the resort is beautiful and the kids loved the pool there. that being said, i was never one for the pool view at AKL; if i am spending the extra money then i would go for savannah view.

I chose CSR with the same decision. I just like the ammenities so much. I am going to have dinner at Jiko's so I will still see the lodge.

If you can afford the money, then AKL is your choice assuming you get a savannah view room. You won't get tired of looking at the animals from your balcony.

If it was $388 for 6 or 7 days, I'd stay at AKL. Since you are going in Dec, parks typically close earlier than at other times in the year so you'll likely spend more time in your room. AKL offers more room space and also two queen size beds, which can really make a difference if you are not used to tight sleeping arrangements.

no contest for me, AKL hands down. 2 Queen beds vs. 2 doubles.

more compact resort, beautiful theming, interior cooridors, great shopping!

and animals too!

AKL. You will not go wrong staying at this resort even if it is a pool view. However, I have to stay savanna view. I just love to watch the animals from our balcony. You can't count on it, but I've read many posts stating that people have paid for pool views and upon arrival they were upgraded to savanna view no charge. Depends if it is a really busy booked week when you get there. But I would definitely stay at AKL either way before I'd stay at CSR if I had a choice.

I'd pick CSR and save the $400. Check out my CSR website below for pics and info. AKL does have larger beds and great restaurants though. Hard to compare a deluxe to a mod too.

For only $50 extra a night, I would definitely choose AKL. CSR is a nice consolation prize though, if you decide to go that route =)

I am debating the same thing right now. I think so far CSR is ahead because I can go to Rix in the evening if I want. With the $ I'm saving I'll be doing HDDR, La Nouba and a carriage ride.

CSR is our favorite. If the price is the same, I'd pick AKL but for $400 difference, I'd pick CSR.

I have stayed at both and would pick CSR over AKL.... while the room may be larger at AKL the furniture was huge so there didn't appear to be as much floor space.... I think the pool at CSR is WAY better... the Pepper Market is much better ... I felt the AKL was very dark.... I did however love the view... we received a free upgrade......but for the $400 I would save it and stay at CSR

I love both, so I can't help in that way...

However, water views at the Mods are a total waste of money since
a) there's a walkway between your room and whatever view you have, making it a lot less impressive
b) Since there's a walkway, people walk there, and so you'll want your curtains closed a lot. I hate having people peek in my room!

I would look at AKL with a standard view, having had a pool view (and savanna view) the pool view was not worth the money. We never used our balcony and spent our time exploring resort and heading to all the animal observation areas. If you can cut down that extra amount by going with standard, that would be my first choice.

While swimming last trip at AKL, my DH looks at me and says "where's the pyramid?" :confused3 okay if I knew that is where he wanted to go I could have saved some money...........

Love CSR (beautiful for December) and would not hesitate to stay there. We loved our water view room, it was rare to have someone walk by our window......if I could not get a standard at AKL I would book CSR, then use the money to go eat at BOMA and a few other choice spots.

You don't have to stay at AKL to enjoy all the animals. Our last trip we stayed, every spot we saw them was a spot any visitor could go to........pool view does not even mean you'll be able to see the pool. You will only be on that side of building.

For us it would be AKL Standard view or CSR, prefer waterview

LOL at the "where's the pyramid comment"

I always pay for waterview at the mods and very rarely see anyone anyone walk in front of our room. Our last trip to CBR, we had a waterview for 3 nights, left the curtains open while we were there (we stay in the room quite a bit) and we saw 2, yes 2 people walk by the entire time. Not to mention ,they walked right on by, its not like they stopped to take a peak or anything.
