Interesting poll :)

I prefer BA because I find their seats more comfortable with the fold-out foot-rest (for my short legs ;) ) and the adjustable head-rest 'wing' bits to support your head if you manage to sleep at all.

This applies to both airlines, as it is a part of the design of the aircraft, not necessarily Operator specific.

I'm just commenting on my own experiences with both airlines. I've always had the same kind of seats on 8 Virgin flights (including the Heathrow/Miami route which had a different entertainment system) and the same kind of more comfortable seats on 6 BA flights.

Maybe we were just unlucky/lucky? :)

I used to work for a company that "manufactured" the aeroplane interiors. Each customer would define their requirements (Seats, pitch, width, entertainment package etc.) and the company would build to spec. So therefore, each operator can have a different interior in their fleets.

the seats on the virgin flights to Orlando and the BA flights are V V different.

Virgin seats are much higher - and no footrest unless you are in premium economy.

BA also have the little wingy bits for headrests and an uppy/downy bit

VIrgins head rests are V uncomfortable for me....gives me terrible neck ache..

BA all the way for me!!

The headrests on Virgin have had "ears" for years, though in general I agree that the seats in economy aren't comfortable.

We flew Virgin last year & Ba the time before that,it's looking like BA for next year. We were really disappointed with Virgin or maybe our expectations were too high.Part of the selling point for our DS was the seat back video games....games from the early 90's that kept freezing & having to be reset, didn't think the service was as good as BA.......

I've flown with both and they each have their pros & cons. We've chosen BA for the past 2 trips because of the cost (helps having DB work for BA) but have booked with Virgin for next year (first time since 2000 ) and are looking forward to seeing how things have changed :flower:

I'll chose a poll option once I've flown with Virgin again ;)

Virgin every time! We had a shocking experience with BA and nothing would make me fly with the again - nothing! :)

Virgin for me, have had extermely poor service from BA in the past, and I usually get a better deal on Virgin flights,

Virgin Atlantic always for us. Their premium cabin is far superior to British Airways World Traveller Plus, and it is best for us to stick with one airline as much as possible to collect their loyalty points (flying club miles). We have had enough in the past for two free PE flights, and we should have enough again soon.

This is why we would always vote for Virgin

We generally go with BA as both myself and my DF used to work for them.

Tried Virgin a couple of years ago, and weren't impressed with the service on the Manchester - MCO flight, the aircraft seemed really old and tatty. However, we loved the DTD checkin facility, wish BA had something similar.
We are going with BA again this year, Manchester via Gatwick to MCO. Bit of a pain having to transfer through London though :(

the Manchester-Orlando flight is now operated by the same aircraft as used on the Gatwick-Orlando flight, not the Air Atlanta wet leased aircraft of the time you are talking about. The Virgin flight is so much better in terms of the seats/beds, the food, the clubhouse and the attitude of the FA's all so much bter than the service provided by BA in Club World

We do not use the manchester route as there is no Virgin Clubhouse at Manchester (that and anything to do with MUFC) :earsboy:

Hope the food situation is sorted by the time you go!

Thanks for that info :sunny: May try Virgin again next time then :flower:
