We stayed at the Westgate Villas last August for our vacation. We stayed for a week and had a good time.
Some things to consider:
It was me-35, husband-40, son-12 & nephew-10.
Cons:
I did the cooking, cleaning and laundry.
Now here's my comment that may offend some people. The property reminded me of "glorified projects". Before anyone say anything I am african american and this place was overrun with spanish speaking prople. The buildings were too close together. Some people left their blinds open at night you can look right into their condo. Loud music was being played at times, but never late I must add. The buildings were just too close together. I wanted a lake view which would have spaced it out being a lake is in front of you. But they were all taken by time we arrived. That would have been perfect.
The arcade was scary. Very Dark. No security. We took the kids their one evening and some teenagers were shaking the machines trying to get tokens out they finally did and offered my husband some. He said no thanks and we got the heck out of there.
Pros:
We had a 2 bedroom condo which was wonderful. Master bedroom was large with a jacuzzi tub, seperate shower, sliding door that went to our screened in patio. Kids had their own room with a large bathtub and shower, 2 double beds, their own TV and they loved it. Living room had pull out sectional and TV and sliding door which led to our patio. Place was very clean.
Having a full kitchen is so cost effective. We stopped at Publix grocery store on our way and stocked up on enough food for the week. I fixed breakfast in the morning and nice dinners at night. This way we were able to splurge in a sit down restaurant for lunch in the parks instead of burger spots.
Having a washer and dryer was a plus. Packed lighter this trip.
Our Villa was right in front of the pool and we were on the ground flr. So the kids just walked right out from the patio and we could sit on the patio and watch them.
The timeshare presentation lasted 3 hrs. and at the end we didn't buy and we noticed the guy did get upset. But a lot of people were buying. I mean a lot.
We all enjoyed the paddle boats, basketball court, my husband liked and spent a lot of time in the gym. The kids went to the pool everyday and enjoyed themselves. It was nice being able to come back from the parks and everyone have their own room instead of being cooped up in a hotel room. The bikes were a joke. They were very hard to peddle and very old. Tennis courts were nice.
The jacuzzi in our private room after a long hot day in the park was an unbelievable perk. Everyday I would come back, put my bubble bath in the tub, lock my door, get a glass of wine, turn the tv on and relax while hubby sat on the patio watching the kids.
We had a nice affordable vacation with plenty of space for the whole family. Everyplace has its pros and cons and I would stay here again in a heartbeat, but, I would go thru Skyauction and get an unbelievable rate and not take the timeshare presentation.
Any other questions, just ask.
