If I remember my history correctly, @lhermiston was the originator of SAFD. After he decided to take some time away from RunDisney. @Baloo in MI took over SAFD for a year or two. I'm just the latest caretaker of a long-running tradition.

SAFD started with my kids in my car about 10-12 years ago. When driving to Sunday school, grandma’s house, etc., I’d put on my Disney playlist and ask a new question.

As they got older, I brought SAFD to the Disboards out of selfishness. I really just liked having one day each week to reminisce about my favorite Disney rides, meals, etc. Fortunately, most people humored me (but we have had a few anti-SAFD folks over the years).

What I didn’t anticipate was SAFD helped grow community here and anticipation for the next year’s event. I’ve had a few people tell me they joined meetups and whatnot after getting comfortable with folks here through SAFD.

It won’t ever get mentioned in my obituary, but I’m happy this silly little thing has taken on a life of its own here.

SAFD: Concur with everyone to continue! As a lurker turned occasional poster, I’ve enjoyed reading these and contributing when I’m able to check in on the thread!

Sadly, I think our group is out for next year’s MW, but maybe I’ll be convinced to sign up depending on the theme (plus two months is a long time to change opinions). Want to at least keep my 1 RD event/season streak alive

SAFD: I would live to see the tradition co time! It’s a great way to get to know others here, and keep things active between races.
