Thinking about going to Disney one more time in April before my annual pass expires in a May. I’m between the weekend of April 22 or 27th. The weekend of April 21 is Run Disney. The weekend of April 27 is Cheer Leading Worlds. I know Disney is always busy but I’d like to choose the less crazy weekend if at all possible. I’ve heard the cheer groups are particularly bad so I’d be inclined to avoid that weekend a bit curious about others thoughts.

Thank you!

There is also Dance Worlds going on at the same time as Cheerleading Worlds.

It is difficult to say which weekend would be busier. Run Disney events can be disruptive, with closed roads and runners in the parks. Our experience has been that a lot of the runners do go to the parks after the races unless they have to go back home immediately. If you like to go to the parks at rope drop you will be affected more than if you typically sleep in a little and hit the parks midmorning.

WWoS events sometimes affect the parks, and sometimes they don’t. I have been there during several events, and the parks seem to be busier the day or two before the event, and then again near the end of the event, as the teams finish competing. I have not been there during these specific events, so I don know how much free time they will have that weekend to spend in the parks. It could be that the parks will be not be as busy on the weekend itself, and busier before and after.

You might want to check online for an itinerary for both events to get a better idea which one may be less crowded.

We're going to be there both weekends, we've never been on a race weekend but have been during the dance/cheerleading worlds. I didn't feel like the dance/cheer were a big deal unless you were staying at a hotel that they were at (which we weren't). Crowds overall weren't bad.

We choose AK for our race day park hoping the race crowds wouldn't impact that park as much but who knows.

Spring break spans both weekends for NYC schools, so it's likely to just be very busy both weekends,

See ya there! 😄

Spring breaks are sooooo spread out and hard to avoid. I think/thought most are in March? Closer to Easter

I just don’t find that cheer/dance events influence park crowds that much. Run Disney, depending on when and where you are headed, can disrupt getting to a park, but again, I dint think there is much impact in the parks. The parks are almost always busy now…. driven by all kinds of programming Disney now has to keep them full nearly all the time.

Spring break varies widely by state or region or even school district. Many do tie it to Easter and so it changes. Colleges and schools who do 1 break (not tied to Easter) are most often in March. Schools in the northeast tend to have a break in February and another in the latter part of April.

At least part of New England has break that week in-between, so either weekend could be busy from spring break. Passover encompasses the latter weekend if that might have any impact.
