We are trying to plan a visit to Disneyland and have been advised that the week of 4/3 will be super busy due to spring break. We are looking at the week of 2/27 as an alternative--What are your expert opinions on this. I haven't been in 20 years and am very excited to return. We will be meeting family from Utah for this trip. I am a WDW veteran and crowds don't scare me but would like to enjoy the time there without fighting the crowds. We will be staying onsite. :cool1:

Definitely 2/27, because many schools have the week of 4/3 off for spring break. We have it off, as do all of my relatives in the Los Angeles Area. We live in the Bay Area, and don't always have the same week off for spring break, but this year we do. We will be in L.A. that week, but will NOT be at Disneyland, as we have been there for spring break before, and are not repeating that mistake!

I agree with going in Feb. Last year, at this time, it was pretty slow, even with the free promotion, which you don't have to worry about this year (or do, depending on how you feel about that, lol). My spring break is about the second week in March, and I know peak season at WDW starts on the Wednesday of my break, so it's probably the sameish for DL.

Definately Feb! I went last year that same week with my DS5 and I have pictures, middle of the day standing just past the Storyland boats, looking towards Small world with absolutely no one but my DS in it! It's a great time for a little "extra" magic with characters, too. They have more time to spend with each person. We waited at most 25 min and that was for TSMM!! It was the best trip we could have asked for!

February will be the less crowded of those two dates, but do be forewarned that it is considered "off-season", and thus there might be ride closures and less entertainment on the schedule than if you were to go during a more busy time.

We are headed to DL the week of 2/27 I did alot of research on attendance. So I am hoping it is a great time to attend with low attendance in the parks. I really don't mind some closures ect. We are traveling with our autistic son so just a bit less attendance is what I was looking for.

We are going the same week, 2/27. We always go in the off season. I would never attempt Spring Break time. What the OP said about closures and shortage of shows is right....you also have shorter park hours. We always make a full week of it though so we see everything. Have a great time!:thumbsup2

We are also going the last week in Feb and into the 1st week of March.

Crowds will of course be MUCH lower, so if you can, definately go in Feb!:thumbsup2

Yes, it's true...weekdays are pretty lean at the parks. But with less crowds, you really don't need the extra hours to get everything done. And if you can be there during the weekend, you can see the shows, fireworks etc that will not be playing during the week. And note that WOC is playing every night at 8:15pm even during the week.;)

The only reason that I would NOT go in Feb would be if you had you're heart set on seeing anything in Critter Country. Not sure on when the closure dates end but as of now, DL has closed the ENTIRE land. So that means no Splash Mtn, no Pooh ride, no meet and greets, no Tigger Tails, etc. So if you go in Feb, you will miss this and most these things are unique to the DL park.

Thanks for all the responses---just wondering what the weather is like in
the beginning of March ( temps , rain ) Anything is better than here in NY in the winter.

February will definitely be less crowded. I think February is historically one of the least busy months (with the exception of President's Day weekend).

Temps average in the 70's during the day and drop into the 50's, sometimes lower in the evenings. For those of us in the Seattle area, this is PERFECT weather!:cool1:

However, I just spoke with some of my family in the SoCal area and they are having a mini heat wave, topping out at a little over 80 and not coming down too much in the evenings. My Gma said even the beach hit the 80's last week, which is UNHEARD of!

So I would plan for all that and dress in layers.:laundy:
